Thirdwire F-84F Rework
daddyairplanes replied to Soulfreak's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
am i to infer we are 13 days into the two weeks? -
i don't think he could tell the guy he was gonna gouge out his eyes and skull@#$% him in a commercial that broadcasts in primetime. might have made for effective counseling though!

trying to keep this as low key as possible to keep the thread out of the Arena.... we would be hard pressed to put any pressure on china right now given how much of our debt they are holding. i agree that we need to be smart in our handling of the situation. howver it would seem that NK is acting like a child throwing a fit in a store... and for too many years the parents (everyone in the 6 party talks) has givin the child a bit of candy or small toy to keep it quiet. at some point the child needs a spanking to learn to behave proper. but dont ask this americans opinion what needs to be done. given the ROK has lost the most this year they would be the best to ask what next. oh and braodcastin Team America was intended as a joke. no one in the US government would allow the braodcast for fear of offending asians and even if they did there would probably be better uses for the EC-130's though the whole thing is an amusing thought!

thats the measure of a superpower. we don't have to bomb you, we'll let your people and neighbors see the marionette version of you singing "me so rorney"!

has anyone thought on updating the DeHavilland Chipmunk for Gen 2? just tried poppin it in my install biggest issue is with the prop just won't spin fast at rpm like say the Mustang or Tempest. also goes sloooooow tho quite nimble. on test flight flew thru a german city at 40 ft altitude 78 kts winding thru the streets avoiding migs! i know it should be slow and nimble but that might be a bit much. got inspired to bring it over on account of Brixmis recon flights in Berlin during the main timeframe covered by SF2 Europe. oh on the prop i have reduced the prop diameter gradually from 2.25 all the way down to 0.85 and experimented with RPM speeds to no avail.

thanks for the reply but i am trying to speed up the prop rotation, not the actual aircraft speed. as it stands you can see each blade even at max engine power and i dont think it was that underpowered! -
what we (the US) needs is a president politically incorrect enough to retaliate by broadcasting Team America World Police throughout NK:rofl:

thank you. still tweakin the Euro 1 skin for all stock models though the E's are furthest along. the skin and decals go roughly the same as TW stock but with new decals and a new squadronlist ini. the SEA Wraparound needs alot more love tho as i haven't worked on that since before NF4+ was released! -
So I finally did it....

welcome to the darkside told you we had cookies:grin: i focused on WOE and SF2 Europe being an Europe nut (Cold War Fulda Gap and tales of the Berlin Brigade when i was a private) but i have found the other titles are great too and not just for the items they bring to the GermanyCE (F-51, Meteor F8, CVA63, etc) as for modding i am extremely computer dumb and couldn't do a thing in Gen1 if it wasnt run the exe file. in Gen2 i have all sorts of things going on in my folders so imagine what the old pros can do. or just d/l NF4+ and wait on the Korean War mod in the works! -

rpm's provided by marcel dassault spinning in his grave! with your work on the TSR2's and the B-70/ RS-70's in the works sounds like a photo op for NATO or SAC bomb comp set in the 70's or early 80's. -
very good point. all of the smart NK officers are either shot or defected:grin: i didnt mean anything personal towards you just havin a bad morning when i posted. remember kids dont post angry! as to fire direction finders, tech's relatively simple been around since ww2 just the refinements in radar and software that have gone on over the years. of course if you expect to be the first to shoot you prob dont have a real sophisticated set. as to the performance (80/200) again makes a case for a smaller highly trrained force rather than a massive force of conscripts. dont recall hearing about any ROK arty actually getting hit, wonder how many NK howitzers are out of commision. it's good that the aircraft were called back though or wwe would probably be discussing the Second Korean War right now, already in progress.
-
backup smackup. NK knew the ROK arty was there, if they have anything other than offensive posture at the border they would have radar to track incoming rounds so that they could conduct counterbattery fire. that radar would show that the ROK rounds were going out to sea where they wouldnt actually hit anything but water. NKs arty could hit the rough location of the ROK arty because .... they have been there for years and Nk had the coordinates dialed in already. it's like one of my kids punching the other because the puncher was poked at. NK just wants attn and is going about it in a dangerous way. if anyone doubts that get some history lessons from the guys in the OFF forum!

Tears as last Harrier jets leave Ark Royal
daddyairplanes replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
the bad thing that occurs to me is that the UK will now have no carrier capability for 10 years. you know that some politician will, in about 4-5 years time, scrap the QE carriers saying you guys have gone without these abilities so why spend on them. to look at the last 60 years of history on british defence spending points out that this will likely occur, regardless of howmuch had already been spent. -

sounds cool FC but if you put LGB or EOGB on the pylons in the 70's wouldnt the heat at speed screw with the seeker heads? would need a diff model of the weapon with protective cover or maybe SRAM but conventional and with TV terminal guidance. just some thoughts.. btw im thinkin the speed pickup in free fall as well as carried on the aircraft, since i believe your intent is still to bomb standoff from 70000+ feet -

stop thinking about it taz your making it take longer. two weeks is from the last time someone thinks about. to the team F-80 kicks A$$! you guys might make me wanna fly outside of the USAEUR AOR there, though after release gonna hafta play with gimp to put some birds at Furfenfeldsbruck circa 1948. if this mod has C-54s too effffing wow! ps damn i thought about it! -
wanting a war and threatning are two different things. however if you threaten forcefully enough the other guy may get sick of it or stop thinking youre bluffing, and tho its been ongoing 50 years, this year the ROK has lost around 50 guys and a warship has been sunk and artillery fired into a civilian town. nations have lashed out for far less my friends...
-
sadly a bunch of GI's will get hurt before we (US) react to this nutjobs actions. and if the N koreans keep it up the ROK's might just get sick of finding diplomatic solutions and start it alone. notice i said start......................
-
we've all heard the response "it'll be here in two weeks" but how do you quantify it? here's my wiegh in its the length of time it will take your signifgant other to mumble quietly after an argument that maybe you were right or its the length of time it will take folks on this site to pick apart the faults in Topgun. how do you measure two week?

Horrible Frame Rates over North Vietnam
daddyairplanes replied to liamp51's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
on a similar topic i am noticing that the graphis are slower in my SF2V, and a bit strectched. I have all but the original SF2 merged and this only comes up with the exe. for the SF2V specific one. the ones for SF2E, I, EXP1, and Nato Fighters work fine. now granted my Vietnam install is more for testing than anything else but still its wierd. runnin Vista, built in card of a Compaq Presario C700
