MIG-23 4.5th Generation Fighter Project
daddyairplanes replied to Almaleki's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
as to weapons and avionics it would be possible to incorperate those into a Mig-23. Isrealis have been doing it with -21's for some time now and the iranians have come up with all sort of crazy combos to keep their american birds going. as to the engines perhaps a turbofan from a -29 but if i recall from the book Red Eagles the original -23 could out accelerate anything we had including the Eagle and Tomcat. so maybe just a really good overhaul on the engines. for a gen 4.5 upgrade i would focus on it being a BVR platform or primarily an attack bird. its basic shape wont allow for stealth and its a bit long in the tooth to be tangling with fresh built 4th and 5th gen fighters. but there is some possibilities for an upgrade, even bringing it to NATO standards. @ almaeki the ace combat bit means some of the things you want to do with this plane while achievable in the ini edits will make it more of an arcade game than a semi realistic flight sim. most of us in here like a little bit of realism in the sim. nothing personal just most of our preference -

daddyairplanes replied to TSgtT's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
SF2E was my first for Gen2, then SF2V for the carriers and Navy Phantoms. gonna get Isreal soon so i can use the expansion packs then hopefully i'll be fully merged all games by early next year. Hey you try buying all the games on a sergeants pay feeding 5 mouths in the home! -

i recall this little fact i picked up somewheres over the years about the japanese will to resist. the casualties expected in an invasion of the home islands was expected to be so high that a million Purple Hearts were minted for the invasion alone. i also recall that we are still using purple hearts minted for that invasion. may not be what would have happened but it is what we expected

Any word on the next show at Seymour Johnson AFB or Pope AFB NC?

1 thats why you don't let anyone not 92G (US Army cook) qualified mess with the food. 2. proper disposal of unusable/expired rations is to puncture the container and trash it. sounds to me like that chief needs to get hot!

im sure the vets inspected it and gave it a few 90 days extensions much like the breakfast Jimmy Deans i got for my guys in KAF. wound up tradin most of those to a contractor for commo wire. whats bad though is when one of the teams is hurtin so bad they thank you for the kosher/halal meals. without goody pack or heaters

yet another stupid question....
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
um ok maybe that didnt work. the game automatically adds the mods folder to C:\ myputer\Saved Games\ThirdWire\Nato Fighters when started. what i want to happen is for it to goto F:\ my book\Saved Games\Thirdwire\NATO Fighters. i changed the line in the NATO Fighters ini to direct the options folder there but still no joy. -

yet another stupid question....
daddyairplanes replied to daddyairplanes's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
actually tried that. no joy core game is in a program files folder in my F drive(external). i set up a saved games folder in the same but the game isnt reading it as such and after each startup of the game to see if it took a new folder pops up in the C drive saved games folder. i also tried to put a copy ofthe options ini in the core folder. again no joy. i also edit the options ini to read as being in the folder for the F drive
