  3. Never again...

like anything you get some good and some bad. i was double booked for my wisdom teeth extractions and the novocaine wore off before he started. on the other hand my root canal went so smooth i dont understand what the big fuss is about. but i agree.......tricare is free and you get what you pay for! (united concordia for my rivet counting friends out there)
  4. zero zero seats work at Zero speed and Zero altitude. the problem in many 50's era jets was that the ejection systems were designed for the extremes in pperformance that the jet would rarely use, not for egressing in normal situations like take off or landing.(see the Lockheed F-104 downward firing ejection seat)
  5. No missiles for Iran...

please let the exalted president of iran talk trash to the russians please. the ole KGB, even by to another name is apt to do something nasty em. they might even take his members only jacket heheheheh. seriously, if the russians are gettin pissed they are gonna be suckin.
  6. First Production C-5M Super Galaxy Takes Flight

it was clearly photoshopped. a C-5 flying? can't trust anything on the internet these days:rofl:
  7. well nothing in the 60's was faster than a scared Thud pilot on the deck:grin: when i used to play WOE i always got mostly a2a in the Thud campaigns. hadn't tried it in Gen 2 yet. hmmm......
  8. well there is an old English military toast that goes " Damn the French!'
  9. Exp.3 rumors

see ignorance is blissful screw the tupelov's get Predator up to Gen 2 standard and use Hellfire! of coourse it will be a suspected missle strike!
  10. Where can I find the F-84E?

if you are looking for Gen 2 then try here http://combatace.com...-sf2-f-84g-v12/ its now a pack including everything except the F-84F i believe. for Gen 1 i'm not so sure to you could use the knowledge base to switch it up.
  11. Ft Bliss Shooting

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/09/20/texas.base.shooting/index.html?hpt=T1&iref=BN1 hopefully its not like the Hassan shootings last year at a minimum only the gunman is reported dead so far
  12. Ft Bliss Shooting

according to cnn and abc 2 wounded, shooter dead very quick MP response. FBI investigatin now which prob says shooter was civilian or CID would have it.
  13. What's wrong with this picture...

dang should have read the other thread on this. was still a cool episode. saw it at christmas time last year.
  14. What's wrong with this picture...

for partial credit 1. Twilight Zone 2. don't remember the name of the episode but it involved a WWI pilot going forward in time to an airbase in france and discovering that his running away from a dogfight may endanger the life of an Air Marshall visiting later that day. It ends with the pilot breaking away from the MP's flying thru the mist back into his time and the AirMarshall looking at a photo of him taken that day and saying he was shot down 40 years earlier. 3 C-124 (in photo) and F-102. poss a SPAD for the biplane 4 being filmed in california i would say March AFB seems likely candidate BTW does this mean we got an Old Shakey on the way?
  15. unfortuneately i think i know the answer but i will ask anyhow.... is the any way to make the canopy for the Six into a bubble canopy or will it require the whole aircraft LODs to be changed. was working on a 106 pre Six Shooter and post just before the latest NF4+ patch came out but it was only ini edits for gun availability and poppin Daves skins pack into the appropiate folders (F-106 and F-106_72) the other major improvements for Six Shooter were bubble canopys, AAR, and vertical tape instruments. Genie still was an option into 88 when NJANG retired the last operational Sixes but they weren't carried to often. about live nuclear rockets flyin round CONUS. but as i asked is there a way to lose the bar on top of the canopy?
  16. SF2 F-106

well it was mostly ANG in the 80's and the only European deployment was Cold Fire in 75 for about two weeks. very true about the cockpit i didn't even think of that tho maybe a Thud cockpit could be adjusted. as with much else in SF2E is more what if than anythting tho it would be good for bering straits or wrenchs ASW terrian. made adjusment to Daves F-106 for SF2 to include the Gunpod. Slight name mix ups in the Data ini no big deal tho i made it as seperate 106_72 for my install. thanks for the quick response!
  17. MiG-25 Pack

Agreed. Laptops are also easier for those of us called up to nice burning hot places and when home easier to secure form curious 4 year old hands.
  18. WW2 WIPS

it seems that DAT is slowly updating their work tho outside of things for all inclusive installs it doesnt seem to have priority. hmmmph where can i get 3DS Max for cheap. gettin sick of Jugs that have no moving control columns
  19. hmmm with setting up a landing base separate to the take off base, and picking the other aircraft out there flying.............. maybe we can start creating Berlin Airlift missions! just need C-54, and many other planes accessable to all. still the possibilities.......
  20. U.S. Air Force to Work on First New Bomber Since B-2

I say hell yea. for the requirements in 1991 (straight air dominance/ dogfighting, not a pound for air to ground) the Raptor was the better plane. however the F-23 was always my fav of the two and would have been better suited to serve as a strike fighter as well as interceptor(stand off and club baby seals as the Raptor pilots say). unfortuneately the tooling for it has to be long gone or we could have made a lower cost stealth for ANG, AFRES and allies since Congress doesn't wanna approve the 22 for export or fight to keep production open. as to bomber survivabilty, the BUFF can take a lickin and... you know. hell there was one that lost its tail and made it home!
  21. Tokyo raid with seplanes?

I dont think the PBY's would have been as succesful nor would have captured the imagination like the B-25s off the Hornet did. One thing about the American psyche we love seeing ourselves step up to a challange and come out on top, not just doing what is possible but the seemingly impossible.
  22. U.S. Air Force to Work on First New Bomber Since B-2

yes and yes:grin: i think the air force keeps the same engines on cause they are already bought and paid for years ago and they have plenty of stock to get spare parts from in the Arizona boneyard.
  23. either delete the whole section about the co pilot or if you might wantt to reinstate hime later put // in front of the co- pilot header so it looks like // [ CoPilot ] that should get rid of your GIB for you
  24. U.S. Air Force to Work on First New Bomber Since B-2

still convinced the last of this plane to be flown to the boneyard, the crew will go home in a BUFF!
