nope on the Phantom's guns. during Easter invasion of 1972 a F-4E was modified to carry a similar config. went out tank hunting with two suu-23s and 4 rockeyes inboard. Was named Chico though i don't remember tail num or unit. there's articles about it in Flight Journal from around Dec 04 and Combat Aircraft nov or Dec of 05. they didn't use it A2A though

first off thanks to all the modders for the work you put into this site. i've been alot deeper into the system of SF2 than i ever was on WOE and am muddling my way up the learning curve. i appreciate the help from everyone whenever i have a question. and i'm even learning to check the knowledge base. two questions i have this time though are (1. is there a standard for .ini edits going from Gen1 to Gen2? and (2. is there any plans or protocol for moving said files from the SFP1 d/l section to the SFP2 section? i downloaded Spillone104's J-79 Exhaust Effects the other day plugged into effects folder and made the changes to the data.ini. no other work on my part and viola! better smoke trails for the double ugly. i thought the .ini edits that work could be moved possibly for the new folks and knuckleheaded ones like me.

pave tack was installed into F-111Fs in the factory (or depot?) permanantly. they did not carry weapons internally but used pave tack for external PGM's or for ranging on dumb bombs. that may be why it doesn't show on load out but i've been able to use LGB with the F.

sorry i don't care how good your digital imagery is or sensors are. the is no substitute for at least one pair of eyes on scene seeing whats going on. COL Computer sees a heat source moving 20 mph with some warm bodies and says terrorist...engage. a pilot or at least uav operator will stop see if it's maybe a white toyota with a mortar in it or maybe with a family in it. how many civilians have been killed in pakistan vs al queda and taliban? not sayin don't go after them just sayin PID is a b%^&@ 8000 miles away.

we do have a bunch of folks outside of Bragg with the signs on the roadside. i've stopped by a few to ask if they want anything to eat from the near by gas station or fast food joint. in Fayetteville alot are "homeless vets" with dirty pants and brand new Nikes. they always say no they'd rather have the money. but i've had a couple take me up on the offer of a meal. they had a strange mix of shame, almost fear and thanks on their faces as they got a meal in them. makes you bit more thankful for the good things in yer life however bad you think you have it.

Japanese fighters escorted larger flights of kamikazes so that US fighters didn't pick off to many before the target. would it be possible to list the suicide planes as ordinance and space them way off the wings? Noobish dumb question but if it works.....

It was expected to be a messy affair. over a million purple hearts were minted in expectation of the invasion. i believe they were using that batch all the way through the 80's before they had to mint some new ones.

yes mitsubishi does currently build jets and cars. but i believe they were still banned from building warplanes when that ad came out(prob. late 50's early 60's judging by photo and it's Draken subject). post wwII thats why they started making autos , kept their factories open.

having trouble with the newer mavericks in the add on planes in SF2E. they track just fine hit what i aim for within parameters but they don't show on the launch rails. even have rockets exhaust when they launch but no missle its self. stock planes and A and B model mav's work fine just the D and later model and those are all i seem to get on most non-stock birds.

thank you jomni for the advice. there was no mention of the LODs in most of the 65xx,ini.s so i made them using info from the knowledge base as my template. viola! mavericks aren't invisible anymore. thank to everyone who typed in on this and helped me out. now i can go back to muddling through learning decals.(yes i know that in the KB too, i'm a slow learner i'm afraid when it comes to computer issues.)

ok update while i'm on lunch break. loaded EricJ's files(thank you very much kind sir) flew on F-4E ARN and on A-10A the A-10 in year 2001 F-4 in last year avail 91. no 65D2 available in loadout of F-4 65D and 65G invisible. everything else works just no visible missle. on the A-10 65D thru 65H are available in loadout. only D2 and H showup. will reinstall F-16C (remove it temp. as i figure out what i'm soing with decals) tonight to see how things show up on that bird but expect same results as A-10. thank you for the help you guys have been giving so far.

i downloaded KillerBee's weapons pack for SF2. thought it was plug and play and didn't need work with the editor. also have bitmaps for all mavericks in question but i don't know if there should be something in ini.s pointing towards them. if there is i'm not seeing it.

mine is what my youngest daughters screamed everytime she saw one of the C-130's or -17s flying overhead from Pope AFB. of course she much more advanced now and says hello and goodbye to every he'copper flying over Bragg!

as to hitler represnting germans... he was actually austrian, just like bruno! as to assassinating hitler it would have gone longer if they had not done something about himmler. i believe churchill himself said that hitler could sometimes be of grat assistance to the allied cause with his quirky moods and behaviour. however many alternate histories i've read over the years where rommel or canaris take over have the germans sueing for peace with the western allies giving up all lands taken in 1939-1940 and turning their full attention to the russian whom the german military percieve as the real threat. in most of those histories after a few months an exhausted GB takes the deal. so does the USA so we could turn our attention to Japan who actually attacked us. interesting lines of thought.

came into this one a bit lat but some comments on the above block 60 was the final block for the F-4 althogh the last signifigant modifacation that made it into production line was Block 48 which saw the leading edge slats and longer gun barrel housing installed. ARN-101 and F-4Gs were modified at Ogden ALC in Utah F-15Cs have gotten many upgrades over the years to make them more capable including helmet mounted sights and AESA radar. i believe there is some talk about doing software upgrades to allow them an air to ground role even but not for sure on that as for the block 60 vipers, they were sold to the UAE and are actually some what more capable than Block 52's with overwing conformal tanks AESA and i think they built Sniper XR capable from the get go rather than retrofit like USAF fleet. however i dont think the USAF was too worried as by the time they reached IOC with them we had at least a squadron of Raptors ready to go. just a few thoughts while i broke off for chow.

got the burners and sounds to work(i was an idiot and had those folders in my objects folder) but still no decals. pulled the contents out like some downloads but still no luck. my F-4's , Voodoos and F-105F/G are working just fine. Maybe the Vaarks have been sanitized for a raid on Libya?

I've got a seperate question: why doesn't the engine sounds or after burner work in my F-111 pack? i put the files into their corresponding place and i have the aircraft and weps but no burner sounds or decals for that matter.

just downloaded SF2E last night. went to d/l TMF's F-4G for series 2 and the files show in the folders but not in the game. how am i messing up a plug and play install?
