  1. my plates pretty full with Vipers, Phantoms, and Hogs, with the occasional Hercules thrown in. i'll leave the F1's to you but the pic popped up in a feed of mine, and made me think of your work
  2. contract bids for next fiscal year open up in June*, you can see about being the primary supplier for base vending machines then. . . . . . . . . . . . . ok it opens in May, but I like Dr Pepper and Pepsi machines rarely have it
  3. did you know, that in the first part of 1993 the 510th Fighter Squadron's tails were left unpainted because "they were the only A-10 squadron at Spangdahlem"? they would get their black tails with white thunderbolts 6 months before becoming the 81st FS.....
  4. you know i remember seeing these from years ago, then you realize just how long its been..... still want to see a Barley Grey Liberty Wing Phantom tho
  5. so when are we seeing the wrap around, Euro 1 and Hill 2 versions? or being in the UK, would they have been Barley Grey?
  6. Not what if, but what almost was in 1992, in the shuffling of units, aircraft and missions, the 192nd TRS of the Nevada Air National Guard was tapped to take over F-4G Wild Weasel assests being retired by the 3rd Fighter Wing and 35th Fighter Wing. the plan far enough along to have an aircraft painted up in preliminary High Rollers markings. instead the aircraft were assigned to teh 190th Fighter Squadron, Idaho ANG and the High Rollers traded their Photo Phantoms in for C-130s a couple of years later
  7. one thing on the SAMs gents is the Rules of Engagement often kept the SAM crews safer than teh fighter crews. at least until 1972 by which time the defense were built up pretty thick Desert Storm, gloves were off, if it radiated it was eating a HARM (to include the occasional BUFF tail gun!) it was more a DEAD fight than SEAD (destruction vs suppression) go back to Allied Force and a strict ROE once again. while only 2 aircraft were downed over Serbia, sites werent allowed to be prosecuted unless they were absolutely sure that it was a SAM or AAA and that there would be no civilian casualties. but Allied tactics and tech did keep the Serb SAM crews on their toes and shut down most of the time so suppression did work
  8. The COIN War

with so many folks gone period, or that disappear for long periods of time, its usually best to check when someone was last on site before a necrobump. and i thought emails were for PMs, not simple posts on topics. i know its how mine is set up and thought thats how they all were. something else to consider
  9. this, more than your first one, is what im talking about. Interflug places it squarely in the old days minus context, the Il-76 could be 1994, it could be impounded somewhere last week
  10. Transitions

pretty sure they are the F-15A_85s from the Super Pack
  11. ok, not exactly the right thread, but have you considered the F-1's post retirement career? (yeah, i know. i should get some registration numbers down and do Top Aces myself while talking to you about ATAC....)
  12. Transitions

    34th Bomb Squadron, 366th Wing B-52G to B-1Bs
  13. Humpday Heavies

    in the midnight hour babe
  14. stands to reason for deep maintenance on tactical jets did you guys have anything along these lines for the really big birds though? these are the kind of things i dont ever recall seeing pics of. Il-76s, An-12s, all the Tu's.... always seen sitting outside not saying they didnt exist, just that any pics shared of WARPAC cargo hangars would be the first i've seen (and possibly many others of us)
  15. just posted in a FB group (dont ask why i didnt think of it before). odds arent great that it'll get a hit, but better than not asking
  16. id say ODS30AE would be the benchmark for that. if your system can handle that, it should handle the new toys coming out.
  17. The Latest Viper Operators

https://warisboring.com/ukraine-f-16-revealed-for-the-first-time-since-the-us-began-training-their-pilots/?fbclid=IwAR0jWeevTeSQuvzI-V3fc1RBdClLAgTP3Hk40vkZ2yFMhTrr6Sa2v_MfCi0 looks like time to open up the F-16 templates again...
  18. if you got the max file, thats way ahead of what we would have from Centurion. he popped off the scene almost 10 years ago, and left a couple projects in various states of completion. including the more modern Tiger 2s (the available pack is early versions iirc) i'd love for him to be back active and working on it. but reworking bobrocks is much more likely to happen
  19. can you imagine keeping all that checkerboard touched up?!?!?!? the paintjobs did get simpler though as the birds got more advanced
