Winder, Pol, may we have one of these please?

Skip Stewart is one of the performers scheduled for the Beaufort Air Show this weekend, along with Patty Wagstaff, Jurgis Kairys, and of course, The Blue Angels. It's going to be a great show. I recommend that anyone within 200 miles of Beaufort, SC make plans to see it. I know my son and I will. The best thing is, it's free! We'll bring back pics, sorry, no vid cam. I'm not from Minnesota, but I once dated a girl from Austin. Spent Nov, Dec, & Jan of '79-'80 there. Too cold for me. CJ -
Damned cyber-murderers! It could be someone connected to the site in some way. Maybe they got into a flame war, got themselves banned, and are now exacting their revenge, or it could be just random, sort of like a cyberspace serial killer. Whatever the rhyme or reason, it sucks, nonetheless. Best of luck to the folks at AVSIM, I honestly hope you get things straight. This just pisses me off! You reap what you sow! CJ

You could call Dr. Frankenstein, or is that Frahnkensteen?

I read an article about it just a few minutes ago and it stated that there were no fatalities but 4 or 5 of the nine aboard were seriously injured. It's amazing that no one was killed. How much beer would a keg that big hold? CJ -

Somebody bought $300,000,000 worth of spare parts! What's the price of scrap aluminum these days? That would make a lot of beer cans! CJ -

I've installed it, but haven't tried it yet. After the wee one goes to bed I'll try it and report back. CJ -
If you have a joystick, or any other controller that you really like, but don't use because it's not USB, this little jewel is just what you need to make it work like it should. I use one on my MS Sidewinder FFB and it works great, CHEAP TOO! CJ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16829130001

Lord knows Peter Jackson has the aircraft. Correct me someone, if I'm wrong, but doesn't he own this place? http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/vintage-avi...age-aviator-ltd CJ PS: Knowing that "Flyboys" and "The Red Baron" weren't documentaries (or even reasonable facsimiles thereof) going in, I thoroughly enjoyed both flicks. BTW, how long was that Zeppelin in "Flyboys"? It seemed very fast also, almost as fast as the planes!

and boy do I have a weekend planned for him. I know a lot of you have seen the picture of him flying OFF. He really enjoys it and absolutely loves airplanes. On Sunday I'm taking him on his first fishing trip, but Saturday is when we get to really have some fun. We're going to the air show! We will definitely bring back a good story and a lot of pics for you folks. http://www.beaufortairshow.com/index.html CJ

If you think you can handle it!

Let me add a vote for the pedals. I use a MS Sidewinder FFB and have the rudder axis disabled, using CH Pro pedals for rudder control. You couldn't get them from me with dynamite. What better way to fly such an immersive sim than to do it with the controls available at the time. I honestly think, if given the choice, Richthofen, Guynemer, etc would rather have pedals than a twisty stick.

In BH&H the DIII and later Albatros' have a little rod with a loop on the end that represents the mechanism (I reckon). CJ -

I don't recall seeing that on any of the Albs in BH&H, but then again, the old hard drive ain't what she used to be. CJ -

In the movie "The Red Baron" you can see some of the pilots using it. Like Siggi said, I believe it's to adjust the airflow over the radiator to keep the engine at optimum operating temps at high altitude, or during cold weather. IIRC the SPAD had slats in front of the radiator that serve the same purpose. CJ -
Has anyone had your trigger (not in the stick) jam on you? The gun keeps firing after you've released the trigger. I know it's not the stick because it's done it with three different ones, a Saitek Cyborg, a CH Combatstick, and a MS Sidewinder. Any ideas? It's a real stat killer when you only want a short burst and get about 100 rounds before you can stop it! CJ

They (UN, WHO, etc) know full well that a panic generates $$$$$. It's also a good diversion. CJ
