Advice needed for changing avatar

when you go to save settings, you have maybe to scroll up again to see an errormessage, if there is one. (file too big.) my picture was small, so i made it bigger and it said file too big. then i reduced it again to the original size and tried to upload it. and there was still a message of the file beeing too big, although it was back to the original where it was small enough. maybe something similar happened to your pic. -

OFF mp current state
Creaghorn replied to Broadside uda Barn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
very well written, wid exactly what the great majority here is feeling, put into the right words. broadside, you won't regret it one bit. especially if you have historical knowledge or want to learn something. this sim takes you in a time machine and gives you the experience and depth you've never had before in a sim. and there is still no sim around wich is as accurate and with so much life like OFF. my experience was always in simulators, you are the bellybutton of the world. the scenerie and everything around you is only made for you, beeing the main actor. in this sim you are not. you are one piece of a whole enviroment. there is a war raging, on the ground and in the air. there is life everywhere around you. and you are just a small, unimportant part of it. if you loved Rb3d, you will even more love OFF. there is no better WW1 sim (RoF is not worth to compare because you can't compare a sonnyboy in a small daylie soap with robert deNiro either) around and probably won't be for many years. especially with the future addons and phases. -

During bloody april near the trenches i missed a pup, who was in my blind spot behind and below me. he hit my elevator and i could hardly keep control, so i landed. i used this opportunity and activated my tac and took a look at the raging battle. in a previous thread i asked for ground units during an attack. now here they are. great job WM -
Question to the Devs re:-Damage Modelling
Creaghorn replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
oh well, i see bulletholes in my alb quite often like in this picture. maybe you are the better pilot? or is it maybe a nvdia/ati thing, like fire and mirror and stuff like this. -
WM i think the devs know about it
-
great news, devs! thank you!
-
wow, my absolutely favorit car!!! got to watch bullit again tonight! :-) thanks

or replace pol's startup with monthy pythons "and now something completely different!"
-
i am not sure, but i think in the old movie "dawn patrol" they were flying nieuport 28s as far as i can remember.

you go into the campaign file. there is another file named shellsound. inside there are all .wav files. the file you want to change is hangarfade or something like that. if you have something else you want to put inside, it must be wav and you simply rename it to hangarfade and drop it into the folder. when it asks you to replace it, you say yes. i replaced it myself with some music, similar style like adagio for strings, but more unconfortable, to get the feeling, now the party is over, let's go doing your duty! by the way. i like the original sound of pol. but it didn't make much sense when i hear my engine starting up in english, but almost always flying for the german, and then ingame i hear the startup again. so i made it more movielike. if somebody wants to hear more, there is in the creditsection some interviews (i heard them all over and over again), and after it the poem "in flanders fields", i think it's red also by pol.

2 theories and question for the devs
Creaghorn replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
thank you very much for answering, sirs i never fly with any aids, because it's an immersion killer and gives you advantages they didn't have in real. i usually warped till i get pulled out the first time. from then on i fly in realtime to the end. so you say if one doesn't warp at all, you might see specks of enemy scouts and they are sometimes not attacking you, even when density is maxed out? so when you are not warping at all it might happen you can surprise enemy scouts probably? i will try it that way. thank you -
2 theories and question for the devs
Creaghorn replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
thank you for answering, sir. what means QED? so it should be better with high dens? what do you mean with limits on the number of different skins? -
due to supervision of AI you very rarely have a sortie without a fight. and fights are definitely too often at the moment (phase 3). at least when enemy scouts are at the same area. my experience is that although there are maybe very few squadrons of friend and foe, almost on every sortie you run into the same guys again. no matter if you have to patrol 100 miles north, or south. lot of times the enemie scout squadron, although maybe the only at the frontarea in that time-period, seems to know where you are going to have patrol this afternoon. so my conclusion is, although they have their own real tasks, when flight density is set to low, there are maybe only 20 aircraft spawned in the theater, but mostly "coincidentally" scouts and in your flight path, set by the manager. is my conclusion right, devs? right now in phase 3 i try everything possible to reduce enemy contact to be realistic, as long the things are not sorted out (vision, AI smartness). you didn't fight on every sortie. even in very busy times. it's not easy to do that. theorie 1: set flight density to low, so only few aicraft are spawned, therefore less chance to meet them. sounds plausible, but if my conclusion from above is right, it wouldn't make much sense to have it at "low", because you will meet them anyway, and cince there is only a few number spawned, the chance to run into the same scout-squadron over and over again is bigger. theorie 2: set it to high. more aircraft mean more enemy two seaters and scouts on both sides. the will fight among themselves, probable enemy scouts might be intercepted earlier by another friendly squadron somewhere, before you reach the point of contact. more spawned aircraft might mean more two seaters. maybe they might attract the attention of enemy scouts and so on... what do you think would be better to reduce enemy contact? in any case i'll try density at high, just to prove if my theory is right.

the cfs i purchased to play phase 2 and bhah is a german version and has therefore a german exe. it's not much left, though. tac is german as you can see, "z" (g-force is lastenvielfaches, fatigue is erschöpfung...) is german and some phrases on the map. when i start a mission, pol is yelling "zündung an, anwerfen!" . no, just kidding. only the above. pol's commands i replaced some month ago with some sad, movielike music, to get the feeling during load that as soon i enter the seat and get airborne something tragic might happen. good for immersion. -

we just arrived the frontlines for a patrol between arras and douai. as my flight reached the waypoint i turned south and checked where flight 1 was. they were still above me. you can see the 3 specks above the sun. imagine my surprise when i suddenly saw some movement in the flight 1 formation. a second or two later i knew why... -
from what i red from rickenbackers book the first couple days or weeks they didn't have any guns at all. they had to fly just to being present. according to his book the wing failures happend quite often. sometimes fatal, sometimes it happend to the same pilots 2 or 3 times within the time. to himself at least once. some even refused to make missions as long as the spad didn't arrive or the wing failure is sorted out. the nieuport 28 would have never seen the front if the americans didn't join and would have own aircraft. but they had to use what was available. otherwise she would have been dismissed as a failure like so many aircraft before we have never heard of. it was for a short period rickenbacker flew the one and only spad in his squadron till the rest arrived.

How do YOU write your claim form?
Creaghorn replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
first of all i write the text above the claimform into my claimform. (i,..., currently serving in jasta... claim to have...). it doesn't make the claim more successfull, but looks more realistic if you read it again some time later. besides towns and airfields, i am usually writing everything i experienced and have seen with my own eyes. if i see him descend slowly in a lefthanded turn with a trail of black smoke, i'll note it exactly like this. if he went down out of control in a wild spin, i'll note it. if i can see some colors and markins (what i have seen without external views) i'll note what i have seen. i can not add wich of my wingmen had helped me out because i can't identify him (no labels), but i add that one of them helped me out. in the witnesses area i note down every member of my flight (i noted them previously in my cellphone like a sms so i don't need to remember), possible ground units, observers from ballons, ground personell, if any of them was near. usually my claims are accepted to about 90%. but i think most important are nearby wingmen. -
shoot me in the air? if so, let's get it on!
-
great job is there a priority list of aircraft? i would also like to know what we can expect. most important should be two seaters. after that more two seaters (especially french and more german)

Refugees and advancing troops over nml?
Creaghorn replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
yes. i saw them before. but it's also said refugees and troops in nomandsland, and them i didn't see, yet. i play now with high ground density. maybe i will see them every now and then now. -
Refugees and advancing troops over nml?
Creaghorn replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
nice rig, so leave your sliders at 5. in FAQ and by the devs it's not recommended. after flexing all muscles it seems it will work for you . there are lone soldiers with rifles. and they really track you. some of them you can see at airfields. -

Creaghorn replied to Creaghorn's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
offtopic, but i think you mixed things up. you can have all sliders at 5, but you must not have terrain at 5 but at 4 max. there is no visual difference between 4 and 5 besides your rig will blow up within the time. not today but maybe in weeks or months. 5 is for future rigs not invented yet. what you mean to see damage is aircraft resolution, not the slider. slider can be on 5. on each besides terrain. aircraft resolution is in workshop and is responsible to see damage. you should have the middle selection. not high res. back to topic
