  1. For the Germans maybe? Sopwith at least, had them in 1917, maybe earlier? You had to take it with you when you crashed your plane or you'd wished you never made it back!
  2. Good work there! I hate dawn or night missions! That was exciting! Excellent situational awareness, there! It kept you alive!
  3. There's a story to that, but for another day, perhaps...
  4. It's probably great for PvP. For single player or COOP, the AI is still a huge disappointment, coupled with no native career coop mode. In VR, with some friends and the Pat Wilson Campaign Generator, it can be fun in doses...they do claim to be working on the AI, there is a thread on it over on the forums.
  5. I use the included software with my NVidia card that used to be called Shadowplay. I edit it with Pinnacle Studio. Keep in mind that it is capturing the signal output from the card and may not represent what you see in your headset. Here's a recent video I did with it: That video is a lot sharper than what I am seeing in my headset, so it may or may not capture the shimmer. The good news is that if you have an NVidia card, you can find out for free! Let me know if you want to discuss this more! RR
  6. DH5 Pilots: Hey, where'd my upper wing g...oh...
  7. With the new version, it would be nice if radiator control was implemented. We already have the nice moving louvers, would be sweet if they did something! In that same vein, it seems that mixture controls are a little under implemented. I can lean mixture after takeoff and the it seems like I don't really have to touch it for the next 10000 feet or so. That doesn't seem to be right? Maybe have it impact engine performance a bit more during the climb and descent if possible?
  8. We recommend the ale but, sorry to say it, the new guy buys...
  9. Don't forget to back it up with your order number somewhere safe!
  10. Hey grinningmonk, make sure to send an email to the WOFF support from their site, they can probably help. Keep in mind they are on GMT, I believe, so they may respond at weird times compared to where you are. Good luck, hope you are sorted out quickly!
  11. Sweet 16 and never shot down...
  12. Thank you! We know we helped the war effort!
  13. Lucky number 13! That was a fun little run!
  14. #12(!) #11 was good, but YouTube couldn't process the video, which I had never seen happen before, so I had deleted it before I noticed!
  15. Glad you are having a good time! This is the one game (maybe ARMA too) that always seems to keep me coming back!
  16. To the best of my knowledge, no. But then real WWI pilots really didn't have much impact on the overall war anywhere other than intelligence gathering and propaganda. So the Red Baron was of psychological significance to the high command but he didn't have much influence at the ground level. While I remember a few bombing raids that did some damage, I think in general the payloads of the planes and the accuracy of their drops were just too limited to account for much. In game terms, the sim would have to pass damage values to the shell program at the end of the mission which would then have to add that into the next mission. Additionally, there would have to be some way to keep track of time individually for each damaged airfield or factory so that they could repair over time. I'm pretty sure none of this is being done now, but who knows with the new version?
