  1. Hi Mapmakers all, this is just by way of encouragement for all your great efforts and to say "thanks" in anticipation - I'm really looking forward to trying out some "real" navigation.
  2. Recently noticed: the Palmer Cord tyres on my Camel have "Palmer Cord" written on them in tiny letters; my rotary engine ... rotates; my bungy-powered half-axle suspension goes wibble-wobble; occasionally I see a minute flash far away as an EA's wings catch the sunlight, just like in the books. What craftsmanship from the chaps who built all this for us! What is "reality" anyway?
  3. Yes I like it very much and thanks to the developers once again for such excellent and responsive support. The behaviour of EAs when shot down seems much closer to what you read in first-hand accounts. The Camel's FM seems much twitchier and it spins much more readily if flown in ham-fisted (ie often in my case) manner, as per accounts of flying it. I'm looking forward to seeing what's happened with 2 seaters, especially as I picked this up in a 2nd hand bookshop yesterday - Kilduff , P, The Red Baron: Beyond the Legend, Cassell, 2002 - which contains in an appendix a translation of Richthofen's "Air Combat Operations Manual", including how he went about shooting down 2 seaters. Very interesting read.
  4. Matt, I'm glad you posted this so I can say "thank you" for a wonderful score which added greatly to the OFF atmosphere; it's a very "lump in the throat inducing" theme.
  5. What ho chaps! I've been circling about in the clouds but I've just caught sight of this new airfield and landed safely. Seems nice here. Thanks to everyone who fixed our move.
