  1. It may well be, that the future computers and software will get built that way. And I dare to predict, that we will then look back at the old days of PC with big sorrow. The PC with it's OS and all other software is perhaps a big mess, hard to set up right - but it offers us so much freedom on the other hand IMHO.
  2. Most people don't even know how to adjust their ATI Catalyst Control Center - if they would do, they would perhaps not have stutters. Technology advances much faster than the users.
  3. Oh, you hopeless cases! But hey, the idea is obvious: you know a crash site? Now you need a metal detector! Many others may have had the same idea though... http://ypres1917.3.forumer.com/a/plum-farm_post223.html
  4. Hey, you one-railed minds - never heard of Hogwarts? That some can speak to snakes? Ever heard of Platform 9 3/4 ? Did it never occur to any of you, that we travel in time several times a week, when we fly OFF? You simple minds - the Google picture is from today, of course! Tch! WW1 pilots! Big-mouthed, and only fixated on the next kill, or the village girls! Huh!!!
  5. Looks good! I wonder, how "open" such type of game could be made. So that you're not just only following one laid out way of bredcrumbs, you know what I mean?
  6. We MUST all be quite old, BurningBeard - after all, we're flying in the Great War! And we don't even know, that in a later time, this war will even get numbered as World War One.
  7. I knew all the time, that the red text in the upper left corner ("Z" key) shows the geographic coordinates of my momentary position in flight. But I had never before noticed, that you don't even need that red text. When you open your inflight map, they appear in it's upper right corner, in white. Now I used them for the first time for a claim report. Not sure, how exactly the claims manager wants them; I left out the numbers after the comma for the seconds. They coordinates now looked like this: N49*19'35" E5*34'50" I'll report, if it got affirmation (although: I was alone and entered "La Folie Ferme ground crew" as witnesses). Here's the Nieuport's crash site from GoogleMaps:
  8. Wow!!! Excellent photos again, elephant! I'll collect them with great joy!
  9. Aaah, now I feel young - cause I can say: this was before my time!
  10. Good news, Makai - and let me assure you: there are several flyers here, like elephant and myself, who will notice that extra amount of work, and welcome that. Bravo!
  11. I found Mannock's personal diary on AbeBooks, but it's over 30 Dollar. http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=mannock&sts=t&tn=diary&x=52&y=4
  12. Lou, it was definitely the best so far.
  13. I know it's hard, guys. I tried but didn't get anywhere.
  14. Thanks for posting, Captain - I did not know P1 - I came to OFF at the end of Phase 2, with the release of P3 in sight.
  15. Good ones, Widow! Now the competition: make an anagram for OVER FLANDERS FIELDS
  16. Okay, thank you, Herr Prop-Wasche!
  17. PS: Creaghorn, I just found the settings for "forward guns" allow: accurate, normal, less accurate - now what is harder? Less accurate may "spray" the rounds more, which increases the chance to hit with some, while "accurate" concentrates them well, WHEN you hit. Any suggestion?
  18. Good points there, Creaghorn. I used HPW's DM since quite some time and have installed the updated version today. But I had forgotten to set forward guns from "normal" to "hard". Will do now.
  19. I had seen the short video before, without knowing that the guy had survived that! Good to know - it was a shocking sight, when I throught, he had been shredded by the jet props.
  20. I know what you mean, Shiloh - I am a long-range sharp shooter in OFF too, but I guess in RL it was much harder to hit vital parts of an aircraft, that would make many evasive moves. Maybe we should both set "forward guns" to hard - that would be more realistic.
  21. Thanks for clearing that - off to download it now!
  22. What is a WIP - work in progress?
  23. A very intriguing choice of music with your video, Widow - fits well to all the northern myth hardrock phantasies!
  24. Widow, the title was not by me, but from the YouTube video - I guess he meant the ground crew man. Very good stories there. I had hear only that about Alkemade - and it sounds unbelieveable indeed! What a lucky blighter!
  25. You're both right, and these diggers seem to be working rather "unprofessional".
