Oh boy - when even "friends" speak like that about you... Udet was a man who liked to drink too much; I wonder how they could get on? Maybe Udet didn't understand much French, and Fonck no German? It is very likely, that a person like you describe Fonck, would not be liked. The crowd doesn't like a guy who goes his own way with good success, as if he needed no others. And if he didn't even drink with them - no wonder. But it sounds like he did his flying and fighting like a well prepared man - like a French Samurai.

HPW, I don't get it (I'm very busy & dizzy recently) - the new HPW_UltimateDM_1.25.7z only has a size of 62.16K? Does that mean, it has to get ADDED to the 1.1 one?

Capitaine, I often wondered, if not René Fonck is often seen very one-way biased by many. I read here, that he wasn't liked by many, and that he was boasting a lot? In Ernst Udet's book is a photograph of the civilian René Fonck, with goggles on, as he turns round to the piloting Udet during a flight over Germany (Berlin?) together. I guess you are the man to ask: Are there any books by Fonck himself? And are there other books by French WW1 aviators? I never found anything. PS: interesting info about Fonck definitely - didn't know that.

Don't know this card; best is to google for comparing tests - some ATI cards were not so good; others are great. TrackIR will work with any newer card without problems.

Welcome to OFF, shortbutslow! Your system should be fine, and the card could be anything from an ATI 4870 on upwards. I am running the HD4870, and have sliders on 5, 4, 3, 5, 5 now - and it looks great, as you may see in my screenshots. If you send me a PM with your town and country/state, I'll add you to our OFF Forum Pilots maps.

They actually seem to have had quite some decent culture; many of them lived more from trading; and even those who went out for plundering tours, had often also some trading and farming going on. The horns, as I read, were never attached to the helmet, but only lay left and right of one in an undug grave. Nowadays it is assumed, that they were drinking horns. Here is a picture from a "Wikinger-Fest" (Viking feast) near my hometown Norden. This might be more what they looked like. The feast is celebrated every year, because the Ostfriesen were among the very few, who ever beat the Vikings. They came to our coast with many "dragon boats", to take this area into their posession. Just went to Google Maps (Satelite) to see Craonne. There is still a living village Craonne. Where did the old, destoyed village stand, Capitaine? It seems to be at the Chemin des Dames - a road name I often heard in WW1.
