Weaponeditor vs MS Office 2007
Navy ATC replied to Wraith27's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Have had the exact same problem. However, I didn't think that office would effect it. Will uninstall office and give it a shot. -
I've worked with F-18A/B/C/D/E aircraft for over 17 years. There has not been a flight clearance for the AIM-120 on the wingtip stations. The F-18A-D will only fly with a LAU-7 launcher on the wingtips which will only accomidate varients of the AIM-9 missile. The F-18E/F has a LAU-127 launcher loaded on the wingtips. It can carry both AIM-9 and AIM-120 missiles. However, there is only flight clearance for the AIM-9 currently. Nothing in the works at present for the AIM-120. I agree, 120 loaded on wingtip will put enormous stress on the wingfold transmissions as well as the mounting hardware for the launcher itself.

It's all about preferance not to mention what Virginia will allow for youth hunt days. I personally use a bow for my dear. However, love small game hunting with my shotgun. Congrats to the little guy on his first deer. He'll never forget it grandpa. Know that he'll have a special place in his heart forever because of you. Maybe the playstation era of kids isn't hopeless yet. Will have my boys in the field today setting up our stands for thier first hunt. Can't wait for their proud moment and right of passage into manhood.

Thanks all for the words of encouragement.

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.' So very true. Saw a quote one time that said, "If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading this in english, thank a soldier."

I totally agree. Been doing this for over 17 years and proud of every minute of it. As should every service member should. Just a shame that someone is lost at such an early age. No offense taken. God bless the USA!!!!!

Totally irritated at the "War on Terrorism" right now. Just found out that a kids that I've known since he was 9 was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan yesterday. Just wish my fellow service members were all home. Such a short life for a fine soldier.

Skinning help
Navy ATC posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I have an issue with one of my skins and was wondering if anyone may have an answer on how to fix the problem. I've added many skins and haven't had too many issues to WOI so far. However I recently downloaded and added the updated VFA-81 skin for the F-18E. The one I had before worked fine. The updated file turned my turtleback transparent. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried deleting and installing my entire F-18E file, redownloading the VFA-81 skin, replacing my SHBODY file with one from a known good skin and still get the same results. Help!!! Click on image for example of problem. -

I just moved from there a couple months ago. Would have been fun to try it out. I remember playing that game years ago. It was based off of Graphsim's F-18 Korea. Not a very good game compared to todays standards, but still a good setup for others to appreciate.

I can totally see this guys daily life. I did two deployments on the Nimitz during 2007-2008 while I was assigned to VFA-81. No love loss for the idiots that got sent to NJP. Lots of friends still out there. Got to love Nimitz and team "Barbwire".

F/a-18 avionics, question for modders
Navy ATC replied to ArturR's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Sorry guys. It'll be a couple days. I'll have to go through all my photos to see if I have anymore cam photos. Tons of in flight photos and a couple videos. I'm in the process of moving and won't have all my gear for a couple days. Moving from Virginia to Florida. No longer with VFA-81. Going to work with the F-35 project. Will make a gallery of photos once I get them all back. -

I tried to upload cockpit video but file was too large. Here are a couple more photos. If you look in the window of the tail gunner closely, you can see him video taping us. Say cheese Russian guy.
