I am writing an installer for an aircraft release. It has custom weapons and I want it to be 100% seamless for the users therefore I don't the users to have to edit any files, or manipulate .ini files in way. Of course I don't want it to interfere with any other installations either. My theory being that I will load the current weapondata.ini , add my custom stuff to the end, read the last weapon number, make the appropriate changes to the ini and then create the .dat file from that.

I am looking to develop a program (assuming there already isn't one) that would allow me to run the weaponeditor on an existing .ini file to create a new weapondata.dat file iow, I have a custom weapon , I have created an .ini file for it, I want to have an external program that will add the .ini file to the end of the weapondata.ini file, save the weapondata.ini file , then run (non interactively) the weaponeditor and create the new weapondata.dat file.

That could be a good thing. I dealt alot with BIS back in the early days of OFP and modding and I can tell you with absolute certainty that BIS are some of the worst people in the world to deal with for this kind of stuff. Maybe they are better now, but back then, I wouldn't have believe them if they told me the sun was going to come up tomorrow. I would verify with someone else.

Hmm, I thought this was going to be 'shareware' as well. I guess not. Oh well, I won't be buying so, no loss for me Like you , I don't begrudge anyone for wanting to make money from their work BUT, I can't find anywhere else that he(They) said this was going to be payware Alas, it wasn't meant to be

This is a 3d Max question: I imported an aircraft, there are TONS of duplicate materials all using the same textures, does anyone know a quick (script) to eliminate all the duplicates , I have tried Condense, but that doesn't work unless the material number is the same. This is 'simply' that a large number of material numbers use the same texture Thanks in advance.

All is progressing very well, external model is completed, LODs are done, Current Poly count for external model is roughly 17,000. Cockpit is almost done, only have 3 instruments left to do, Engine RPM, Prop RPM and Engine Torque (not sure the last two can be fully done, I suspect I will have to 'fake' them) I am right now on schedule to release sometime tomorrow OR if something strange crops up, on Sunday. Thats it for now.

Nice to be back, sometimes LIFE just gets in the way of hobbies. Spent a bit of time overseas in the Persian Gulf, not a fun time at all. -

I will have a look at that, I got blanket permission from him to do any of his aircraft for WOE (SF Series) -
Just a small movie to let you know how I am progressing. The cockpit is coming along nicely, adding the final few instruments now after working out some issues with linking. BTW, yes, that is an OV1 Mohawk in formation, external model is done on that, going to be doing that after I am done with the Bronco.
