Yesterday I climbed into an Alb. D.V (sorry Olham) who was climbing and turning away from me. It was basically a pancake. I sent a long burst into his cockpit, and then I heard (for the first time) "Aauuggghhh". He crashed soon after that. Previously, I thought I had hit the pilots before. So is this right: If you dont hear the scream, you didnt hit the pilot? Also, is there a way to jump out of the plane, like in old RB3? I'd rather take my chances sometimes, than burn

Yep, that worked. It does look like he's holding onto a parachute tho. Maybe something to add in future: % of survival, depending on altitude?

Great work on the videos Vasco! About how long total (real time) was that mission everyone flew? The explosions of the planes you shot down were great! I dont get those...I only ever see a pufft of smoke/dirt. Is that a mod, or a graphic setting in cfs3?

I read about OFF, while reading the RoF forums somewhere. Had already purchased RoF, but got OFF as soon as I realilzed what a find it is. I had searched in the past (on google) for ww1 biplane game, or something like that, but never found anything. RoF had a blurb on a game news site I read, and that's what got me looking. Actually been wanting a WW1 flight sim since the late 90s. It was a long dry spell! Glad that RoF pointed me to OFF (interestingly, without any OFF references and how good it is compared to Rof--which I read on the RoF sites--I still wouldnt know about OFF). For OFF to do REALLY WELL tho, it needs multiplayer to be easier to set up and play, both for co-op and for 1v1 and team play.

I have a friend who has a new Mac and he wants to play OFF (after some encouragement :yes: ). He's got the MS emulator (or I think he has windows loaded on his mac, and this allows pc programs to work...? dunno for sure). Anyways, any mac users here? Just wondering how it runs on your systems. Thanks! BuB

Yes, I think he's using bootcamp, and he has an nvidia 9400 or 9600 I think. He's got a multi core processor. I think it's even an intel processor....He ordered a saitek EVO joystick for it...so I guess we'll know soon enough. This is good to know, because if it works, there's a whole field of sim flyers with macs that can play OFF!

I'm not sure of your video card, but did you try your control panel (if you have nvidia) aa settings as I listed above? Note that I got the best FPS AFTER I made more and more adjustments...Was up, went down, then went way up. Post your specs, maybe I can help. :yes:

Finally decided to delete the long line of pilots who are dead/captured (havent had even one escape from prison yet). I was able to delete about 20 of them, but of the 8 pilots left, when I try to delete them I get an error message from the OFFManager: UnlimitedPIlot.xml file error. Tried restarting OFF, and a few other things. Any idea how I can delete/retire these last few pilots? (sometimes I dont get the error, but it still wont delete/remove them)

Steve/Check (how did you change your login name?), I just did an uninstall and reinstall/update a few hours ago. Yes, load it, try it, then start tweaking. For reference, I have been tweaking my settings and have some outstanding results. first of all specs: i920 6GB RAM (3GB recognized by XP) 260 GTX nvidia with 896mb I started with HomeBoy and Condor's settings. Got regular 60 FPS, for some reason only 32 or so at take off. and 51+ when looking at the ground from the air. Smooth. No jaggies or white triangles. Then I upped the graphics settings to 5 5 4 4 5 5 and got a few white triangles when looking at my 6 using TrackIR. It only happened with a FAST SNAP turn of my neck. Slower turns resulted in barely any white triangles/outline, if at all. FPS was close: 53 while flying, 49 in combat, 25 at takeoff, and 40 looking at the ground while flying. Then, I kept those settings and went into Control Panel for the nvidia card and chose: Override Application setting (was set on enhance). I put the A. Filtering from 8x to 16x Now, with these settings I was back to 60 fps while flying, 27at takeoff, and 40 while looking at the ground. No white triangles or outlines AT ALL! No matter how fast I turned, it looked great. Keep in mind that I have Vsync turned on....hate to do it, but have LCD monitors, so they wont go over 60 anyways. I have a feeling that I could get more out of this, with more tweaking, but I'm super happy with the FANTASTIC graphics and FPS results. I hope this helps someone...Start with homeboys recommendations and go up from there, depending on your rig. BuB

I reinstalled, and it's fine now. Guess it had something to do with the pilots being deleted. Lesson learned :)

There seemed to be an error, since I would hear a "ding" when it hit that screen. Today was my day to play OFF, so it's frustrating. So I bit the bullet and reinstalled. After all patches, it works! Lesson learned. Dont delete pilots. Good news though--i didnt have to reload my graphic or Joystick/pedal options!
