The Fletcher class was a class of destroyers built by the United States during World War II. The class was designed in 1939, as a result of dissatisfaction with the earlier destroyer leader types of the Porter and Somers classes. Some went on to serve during the Korean War and into the Vietnam War. The United States Navy commissioned 175 Fletcher-class destroyers between 1942 and 1944. After World War II ended, 11 were sold to countries that they had been built to fight against: Italy, Germany, and Japan, as well as other countries, where they had even longer, distinguished careers. Hawker Hunter FGA.71 (FGA.9 ground-attack fighter for Chile) Hawker Hunter FR.71A (FR.10 reconnaissance aircraft for Chile) The Hawker Hunter Mark 71 was the designation given to a number of aircraft sold to Chile before the coup that brought General Pinochet to power in 1973. Chile purchased twenty eight F.G.A.Mark 71s and six F.R.Mark 71As. The F.G.A.Mark 71s were ordered in three batches. The first, of fifteen aircraft, was delivered between September 1966 and June 1968, the second, for nine aircraft, between December 1970 and September 1971 and the third, for four aircraft, between September 1973 and January 1974. Seven T.Mark 72 two-seat trainers were also purchased. During the coup that overthrew President Allende some of the Hawker Hunters were used to make rocket attacks on the Presidential Palace. By 1974 it was clear that the Pinochet government was committing atrocities and murdering its opponents. Britain imposed an embargo on military spares, and the number of serviceable Hunters began to decline. The relationship thawed dramatically after the Falklands War, in which Chile provided covert but valuable support to the British. In return a squadron of twelve ex-RAF Hunter F.G.A.Mark 9s were given to Chile, where they were stripped for spare parts. In 1983 the Chilean Hunters were upgraded (the Aquila programme). This saw them get updated cockpits, a radar warning receiver and a chaff/ flare dispenser. The updated Hunters remained in service until 1995. - Mod For: STRIKE FIGHTERS 2 EUROPE + ISRAEL + DLC 4 - Hunter FGA.73 (75/82) - What's in: 6 new flyabe planes (FGA.71/83/90 - FR.71A/83/90); 9 new skins; Historical decals; Avionics, pilot, weapons included. - Operations: FR-71s with loaded cameras: ctrl+up to show - Credits: TW/TK for this plane Denis Oliveira: 3D parts Sundowner: High Res Temps (Hurraj!) It enjoyed a long career in Soviet, later Russian, service and was widely exported to Eastern Bloc, Arab air forces, Angola and Peru as the Su-20 and Su-22. It is the first variable-sweep wing of Soviet origin. These are earlier models. As the model was good I asked only for deleting dorsal antenna. All things stopped when someone told me a bigger project was started about ALL Sukhois family. In fact I saw a lot of fantastic pictures about it, but years went by and no Sukhoi was realised. So I lost any hope about it and decided to finish up my very ancient skinpack using Y. Gordon book. This plane has the same dorsal antenna I wanted to delete, but I think is quite good, now in a far better dressing than original one and this is the only one Sukhoi we have to fit in all comunity scenarios. I hope you like! @paulopanz Submitter paulopanz Submitted 09/10/2020 Category Su-17 -
