Well the SoftTH software is free, so anybody with multiple monitors can try this out with OFF! I have two 8800 ultras and with SoftTH you cant run in SLI, so I have one of the cards running the big 30" 2560x1600 and I have the other card running the 20.1" 1200x1600 sides. I am getting 20-30fps because that is alot of resolutions to push with one card, so I cannot wait until the new 5870x2 or GT300s hit the market so I can get 60fps! I don't think you can stack the monitors horizontally, but if you were gonna do that I would say go with eyefinity and identical monitiors. And Uncleal, look at my first picture on top of the monitor to the left...awww yess the good old blue light of visual freedom :) Also I do have one problem now! When I wanted to quit a mission I used to hit escape and then quit out, however, now when I hit escape it only pauses the game! AltQ still works to quit out but it does not save your game progress if you do that! What can I do? What key can I hit to quit out of a mission now? It wont let me hit escape to go to that menu to even select my controls now either!!!!

nooo triple head wont do unfortunately. I got a 20" monitor x 30" monitor x 20" monitor / portrait x landscape x portrait setup going on there, so the only hope is softTH

Has anyone had a flying bastard survive long enough to win the coveted blue max on the brutal DID standard? Post pics and stories if you have, so it can give me some inspiration as I bury yet another one who had such promise with 4 confirmed kills and 3 unconfirmed and then needlessly died in a gentle crash landing. I love this game, lol.

This is driving me freaking nuts! I have Track IR 4 Pro with the latest track ir 5.0 software installed. I am running vista 64 ultimate, two 8800ultras in SLI, an evga 750i mobo and 8 gigs of ram. Track IR works perfectly for IL2-1946, Arma 2, and even Combat FLight Simulator 3! However, I get no blue light when I load up OFF, and I get no track IR response at all! What can I do here? Does anybody have a work around? I wrote a letter on natural points forum, but no real help yet. HEEEELLLP PLLLLEAAASE!

Ahh, but I am going to have an odd configuration that wont support tripple screens. I have a 30" 2560x1600 monitor and am buying two 20.1" dell 1600x1200 monitors. I plan on running the smaller monitors in portrait mode on each side of the main 30" so I will have a total resolution of 4960x1600, however, currently there is nothing that will let me run my video games in this monitor config. It is confirmed that the ATIs eyefinity does not support different monitor resolutions and tripple head certainly does not either, so looks like no tripple screen gaming for me :(

I'm not going to put this in the help session cause I know what the problem is, crappy nvidia drivers that never made my SLI 8800 ultras stable....can't wait to go ATI with the 5870x2 this month (hopefully). Anyway, this is what happened. I start a new campaign with Baron Hornswaggle Von Diamondwulf and its a patrol the front assingment (its 1916 and im with Jasta 2). At around 7,000 feet I spot two Neuport 17s and Im following them for a good five minutes and gradually closing on em. I get to about 500 yards and the first one gets felled with flak. To my surprise, the second one performs a split S and comes right at me and I nail him with a quick burst but its not enough to take him down. Lookin over my shoulder he is going into a steep dive, but its not a death dive. I perform a split s and follow him as he is barreling straight towards the front. Hes got me by about 600 yards and to my surprise he is strafing ground AA guns right over the front lol. Its like he is going for the AAs that took out his buddy! Well I catch him with another burst as he is making a second pass on the AA and on the next turn I get behind him and am lining up for the kill when he explodes from AA fire! So, Im kinda pissed but also in awe at the awesomeness of it all and no sooner do I turn my head to the left that I notice two of my guys on one Neuport 17 at about 50 feet above the dead center of no mans land. AA and FLAK is going crazy, bullets are wizzing by my cockpit but I turn in to help out and as I close I see that it is most likely an ace (label said it was a lieutenant of some sort) and I get an awesome deflection shot right on him as he is making a defensive turn from my wingman Willy Ackerman and he smashes right into the ground and it says I shot him down! Didnt catch the name, should have taken a screenshot but wasnt thinking, cause I was so excited that I got HIM! Pleased with my kill and about halfway down on my ammo, I decided to play it safe and head for home. After about a minute of flying I look over my shoulder and see that my two wingmen have stayed behind and are now grossly outnumbered by FIVE Neuport 17s! I had a tugging moment of selfishness and cowardice as I said to myself, "You did your duty, got a potential ACE KILL, and your halfway down on your ammo with only 250 rounds left," play it safe and go home and down some pints of whiskey and visit that special bordello with Angelina cause you are a HERO! And for a moment I carried on heading for home thinking about booze and hookers, but I looked back one more time and saw that one of my guys was smoking and I knew I couldn't leave em to die alone!! I cranked right rudder and banked full round and joined the fray of now 3 vs 5! In the 8 plane furball I was conservative with my gunfire and scoring confirmed hits here and there, and after about what seems like ten minutes of pure white nuckle acrobatic flying 50 feet over no mans land with AA, flak and planes everywhere, there was only me, my wingman Willy and one Neuport 17 left. Out of the four downed neuports I don't think I got another kill, but Im not sure cause I nailed a few of em really good and was not watching the indicator section, so I may have gotten a few more unconfired, not sure. But alas, there was just Willy and I and the last of the enemy. We turned and burned for a while and I kept hitting home on the enemy, when I came around to see Willy fall :( (there goes my ace kill witness). Pissed, I am able to land a few more passing shots into the enemy ( I hit him no less than ten times total) and when I came around on him he was doing a severe climb, I hit him with one last passing shot and as I turned my head I saw him float back and crash a nasty death, but it did not say I killed him...maybe it was crediting the massive amounts of AA going on for the kill shot...regardless I only had 38 rounds in my guns left so I limped on home, feeling the senslessness of it all. I was thinking that while I was cowardly leaving there was 7 planes fighting and now Im leaving again and all 7 are gone, like they never existed or mattered anyway, my turning back and helping out, ultimately did not help bring any of my comrads back :( I make it home to my aerodome and bring my bird down to a complete stop. As I was getting ready to climb out of my cockpit, my computer completely crashed and reset itself. I cursed MADLY FOR THE NEXT TEN MINUTES!!! I mean to have that Kind of mission and to not have it registered at all F ME!!!!!!! and FU NVIDIA I HATE YOUR 8800ultras and your FLAKY DRIVERS!!!! I dunno, Im at such a loss here....

I am sorry for your loss. Jones sounds like he had a lot of promise to be truly remarkable and as a father that has lost four pilots today alone (RIP Hornswaggle Von Goldenwulf, RIP Hornswaggle Von Goldenbear, RIP Hornswaggle Von Diamondwulf) and most painful of all RIP "BARON HORNSWAGGLE VON GOLDENWULF," who was cut down by his own greedy hand whens't he refused to pull back from plugging rounds into his soon to be kill number 5 and instead ramed himself and said victim steadfast into flaming oblivion. So with you I drink, the finest whiskey on hand, for tomorrow the graves shall be waiting for our new children that shall most certainly follow.

Lol, I actually ordered one of these on ebay yesterday! I am hoping to actually get copies of medals as I earn them in the game, once I earn a medal I will try and buy one online!

Joysticks are all a mater of preference and when I bought my hotas setup a year ago, I thoroughly researched the available options (I was coming from console gaming and had no clue). Ultimately I bought all of the high end CH products; Fighterstick, throttle, & pedals. Over the last year I have been playing IL2, LOMAC and now my current addiction OFF, but I have to honestly say I never really liked the CH sticks. But what choice did I have? Yea, they are unbelievably precise, but they just feel like toys to me. So, I got birds of prey on the 360 and the ace edge, which is a dumbed down X52 and you know what, I really really enjoyed playing with that stick over my CH gear, yea it was not as precise but they felt so much better for me so I decided to put my CH gear on ebay for sale. My intentions were to sell the CH gear and just use my ace edge, but you know what, the ace edge does not work so well on the pc, so then I was thinkin of just gettin the x52 setup because its similar. And then I did the unthinkable. I pulled the trigger on the G940 and it BLOWS away the CH gear, maybe this will hurt my current listings on ebay for selling my CH gear, but who cares....I gotta tell you if you are in the market for a brand new comprehensive HOTAS setup then RUN, do not walk and get the G940. It is amazing and ten times more accurate than the dated CH technology. My God, once you get the sticks properly configured with the force feedback your flight sims come alive in a whole new way. So there you have it, if you still want CH gear then buy my used stuff which is currently up for auction on ebay, they are in excellent condition and will never be touched again.

Hi Guys & Gals, I'm selling my CH gear; Fighterstick, throttle, & pedals on Ebay for $75.00 apiece. All three are USB! I'm sorry if this is not allowed to be posted here on the forums, but I figured it is ok since they are very relevant to what we do here and maybe there are a few members out here looking to pick up that last component to finish off their HOTAS setup, but don't wanna pay retail. Given the limited amount of space that I have, I can't setup my hotas properly (I want to build a cockpit eventually, but I need a house for that) so I am using my xbox 360s ace edge to pull double duty with IL2 Sturmovik, OFF and and birds of prey on the 360 so I am not without a hotas setup after I let these go. So, Im a newb at this game, and had just gotten a career going and was beginning to be really attached to my pilot FOkker Heindlick. Guess I made all of the rookie mistakes, spent a few times in the hospital, evaded capture, and was even shot down. Then I suppose I made the biggest mistake of all and that was to talk about Heindlick on the forums here talking about his fourth kill pictured here, thus cursing him into sure doom. Yes, he had a short career, but he was one kill away from potentially being an ace, with four uncomfirmed kills in the potential bag, he decided to change his lucky paint job on his albatross and to honor his fellow aviator Oswald Boelcke. No sooner was the paint drying on the aircraft, that Fokker was informed that they needed to scramble immediately and ward off an attack. Once airborne and after some maneuvering Heindlick was lining up victim number five into his sights, when all of the sudden he saw a set of two toned german landing gear in his face, then a sick thuddering crashing sound, fire, lots of fire, and then blackness. Fokker Heindlick has seen the end of war. It is chilling that Heindlick met a similar fate as boelcke, right after he pained his aircraft in boelckes colors. In a bittersweet bit of news, it was announced that Heindlick's first uncomfirmed kill was confirmed post mortem. RIP Heindlick....ohhh what could have been. Here is his dossier:

Oh yes well Heinlick's replacement, "Hornswaggle Von Goldenwulf," has just scored his first uncomfirmed kill with Jasta 2! It was a nasty affair, my wingman was right on the enemy's six chopping away at his tail and I swooped in and fired a strong burst directly into the cockpit, which was immediately met with the most horrific blood curdling scream and lots of fire. The struck bird then plummeted 3,000 feet in an accelerated burning death spiral. Poor fellow, but now he gets to hang with Heinlick. I don't think my wingman likes me very much now, but it was strictly for humanitarian purposes I swear. I couldn't stand to see the poor french bloke suffering from my WM's in accurate shots.... this should really encourage moral now I think, lol.

Hey Guys, I am playing at a very hi resolution 2560x1600 and it is great, however, like most games and applications at this resolution, the ingame text in microscopic and it makes it very difficult to see messages and ID kills. Is there any way to make the text bigger for my resolution while flying. Thanks!

Ahh yes exactly what Olham said, hit the printscreen key and then go into windows paint and right click and hit paste, then edit out the parts you dont need.....like edit out the line that says your guy is dead :( Oh and I am located in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA!

Flyin campaign in 1916 with jasta 2, Fokker Heindlick downs a two seater and it doesn't look like the pilot bothered to wait for the rear gunner when he made the executive decision to bail.... lol I almost caught him in my windscreen!

It comes up at the top middle of the screen... is their an easier way to know what you are shooting are or have shot down? Hard for me to know the planes, they all look the same to me...Im good at iding ww2 planes.

I was missing the text when I hit Z because it makes it sooooo small at my resolution of 2560x1600, however, it is running at 30fps at low altitude and 60fps once I nose up towards the sky, I have vsync locked so its lockin it at the max it can handle given whats on screen. Ill search around and look into the frame rate lock. Thanks
