  6. You're right, there aren't a great of sticks with FF as of late. Unfortunately this probably indicates the return on the addressable market is too small to justify the cost of investment for development to the manufacturers.
  7. Great tutorial logan, this should definitely go in the SF2 Knowledge Base! EDIT: typo

  15. F-16s for the Red Arrows

Not sure whether this often transpires outside of the UK, but a lot of us Brits have absolutely no time whatsoever for news 'outlets' such as the Daily Mail (Fail). Their atrocious track record of abysmal inaccuracies and outright horsesh!te indicate they should never be referred to in a million years. The likes of The Mirror, The Sun etc are also only good for wiping your behind with also. This non-article was written purely to sell rags, considering the procurement style of the MoD, it would be highly predictable for them to convert aicraft to T2 standard and carry on using them. The great advantage of the Hawk is that it's affordable to operate in this role, relatively light on maintenance and very nifty in the right hands.
  16. It's not much but I slung a few quid in the jar recently, CA is the dog's bollocks for flight simming, let's all keep it that way.
  17. This looks the bee's knees Russo!
  18. Concorde's Final Day - A Great Video

I grew up under the west flight path of Heathrow, you could set your watch by Concorde screaming overhead every evening, bang on time at 7pm. I remember its final day too, watching the three aircraft land one after the other, Heathrow was packed to the rafters, hordes of people cramming into every square inch on the multi-story car parks catching a glimpse of them touching down. Glorious stuff.
  19. Food for Thought; A Flight Sim for the Ages

Time for me to chime in Dave. Food for thought indeed, having just checked my profile, looks like I've been a member here for a smidgen over 9 years, I remember some of the sites people visited around then, Column5's forum was great (who can forget ABF?) I started with Strike Fighters a little before that, remembering when this place Biohaz and ACF Central was still alive too. I kept playing SF through sixth form, then doing an Aerospace Engineering degree (furthering my involvement in flight simulation, getting the opportunity to do studies in this for my dissertation... universities have awesome flight sims!), and now I work as a graduate engineer for a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul company which is a subsidiary of Airbus Group (formerly EADS). Despite real life (work) has pretty much blown my simming activity (and more predominantly, modding activity) clean out of the water, I still visit this place practically on a daily basis, and enjoy keeping up to date with the modding developments people do. Lastly, I believe one of the keys to CA's success throughout the years is that the people who run the place listen to what the users want.
  20. What plane is this?

It's the BAE Systems 'Replica', not the first time it's been spotted out in the open either, it's kept at Warton. It was a design study run for the second half of the nineties, and was a full sized model.
  21. Marcfighter has posted screenshots over the last few years of cargo planes he's built for SF, whether or not he envisages releasing them even as AI I don't know... take a look at his KC-10 for example which I believe is in the DS Mod as an aircraft which was released.
  22. The first carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) is quite underway, in fact a lot of the major assembly is complete. Build status as of the recent SP10 FWD lift.....
