EricJ Helicopter Pack RC136 - Fixed the MH-92 (Insertion) and MH-92 DAP flight model, no longer leans forward when static on the ground when spawned by script. Google Drive version soon to be updated.
-
ADuke Kiowa Warrior RC14 - M3P now has an RVMAT applied
-
EricJ Helicopter Pack RC135 - Removed some extra geometries on the MH-60A, cleaning it up a bit - Fixed the 7.62mm ammo, now crew served miniguns have tracers, every three rounds - Through some config fanagaling, I managed to get some FFV spots on the MH-60A. Not what I wanted but it's something, as best as possible within the limits of the game. - Tweaked flight model of the MH-92 and MH-92 DAP, making it smoother, much like the UH-92 Google Drive download updated.

EricJ Helicopter Pack I removed the required DLCs (Helicopter, Jets) to maybe not require it for other users that don't have the DLC. I think you can use some features without requiring it, but it should be noted that other mods, like Advanced Sling Loading may work with this, or not. I can't guarantee they will work these helos. So if you don't have those DLCs rejoice as you can use the mod without it, just if you want to use the sling load and Cruise missile container, then you gotta buy the DLCs.

Strike Fighters Update
EricJ replied to PJB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Personally I think the level (or really lack) of enthusiasm for the Win10 patch told TK that the community (I donated though) wasn't very interested in anything new for the game. Sure he can use some of the money from mobile purchases to fund a new patch, but that's not a foregone conclusion, and probably what he makes off of mobile sales keeps the mobile aspect going rather than any hopes for a Win10 patch. But I don't know TK so that's just rampant speculation, but that's how I felt about it. Maybe there's something in the works, maybe not, but as Coupi inferred, it's not looking good after so long of a stretch. I mean if Nuclear Option allowed modding then you can probably go to that as it's newer, but I have it and flown it in a long time, mainly because there's not much to do except free fly, which I also do in SF2 nowadays. -
Other than some fixes that I found, such as cleaning up the MH-60A model, had too much stuff on it to be a good representation of it and some custom ammo I needed to adjust with newer config entries. Seems like I'm running 2015 code and so on, which was proving to be inaccurate (but still worked lol), especially with the Hellfires and Rattlers. Overall I'm at another point of not much to do. I may do a more "MH-60A" based off of photos I found on a forum. The FLIR ball was more or less artistic license right now so there's that on the current MH-60. The model I made was during Operation PRIME CHANCE, so I got that picture off of Facebook, so that may be just a field modification, and not standard. Overall I do think it came out okay, and probably use some tweaking, such as a good animation for the FFV location. The current animation features the bench seats, and not one sitting normally (normal anims don't work as they "should") on a bench seat and a position where your "legs" aren't hanging off the edge, as is current. Anyway not much on the Kiowa front, I submitted (as you'll see above) the current build to Steam, so that's it so far. Now that I have some major issues fixed (again thanks to those who brought it up, I thought it was good to go, and it wasn't), and seems more or less almost done. The major update is HeliSim from the Project Hatchet team, so that will hopefully give the Kiowa a more realistic flight model. I'm intending on starting with the Kiowa, see how it goes, and may move it to the EricJ Helicopter Pack, I don't know yet as I have like 25 helicopters to code, but I'll see what I can do. I may have to code the UAVs as well, we'll see. But that's whenever it gets released. There is no ACE3 requirement for the additional mods (Hatchet Framework, and HeliSim), so those who don't use ACE like me, don't have to download it in order for it to work.

Just a note on the MH-60A: I tried to make an FFV spot for the outside seats, but ran into an animation problem with the feet sticking out of the helicopter bottom, so I didn't implement them. If somebody can recommend a suitable animation for the seat, I'd appreciate it as well. Until then there are no plans for FFV positions until it's good enough to use, as I think the "passenger_bench_1" animation was all they did so far. I could be wrong though of course, but overall would help show it off better.

Did this ever happened?
EricJ replied to amariani's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I think I did the bottom scheme for the TW or one of the F-14s. It's not wholly correct I admit, but it came out pretty decent. Yeah I did after checking my stuff. Anyway I just don't like the TW birds for skinning to be honest with you. I mean if I was going to do a Tomcat skin, I'd do the TMF birds, where the mapping makes more sense than whatever TW came up with. -
ADuke Kiowa Warrior RC13 - A "stealth" update, the GAU-19 was introduced to the list of available weapons (getting the Hellfires fixed was the priority, as well as the MMS LD), it is basically the same as the M3P, with the ability to rotate the barrels for now until I get more information. - Added a "1x AGM-114K" to the list of available weapons per carrying of one during the Global War on Terror.
-
EricJ Helicopter Pack RC134 - M134 on the MQ-17 now has 1000 rounds, instead of 100 - Tracers implemented on the 7.62mm rounds, every 5 rounds is a tracer - Improved Maneuverability of the MQ-17s - Improved the roll rate of the MQ-37 - MH-60M DAPs can aerial refuel with the USAF Mod - MH-60L/M (Insertion) and DAPs have an extending fuel probe to clear the rotors when refueling, activation is through the scroll wheel menu. - MH-60M DAPs have more fuel, to account for the fuel bladders in the troop compartment - Added an MH-60A (Insertion-1987), in which I believe (and the photo suggests) that was before the MH-60L and so on came about, before they switched to all black helicopters. Bear in mind that I was going off of one reference photo for the external appearance, and put it in the 160th faction for now, until more information comes along. Google link updated

Dude I've seen people post all of the time, and I never could trace their IP, so good to know, but maybe it's a symptom of Texas schooling. I'm just saying though.. -

I mean yeah, but when you're used to foreigners you just gotta roll with it. -

Yeah those were the Heather Ferris schemes, pretty well known ones. -

Sorry none of my own reference photos has that picture either, so it was probably a Photoshop job. I know they did experimental schemes, but even after a Google search nothing came up either. -

I mean I'm not saying I know (I don't), but it's a VF-31 bird, so you can narrow it down that way. -
EricJ Taliban Fighters RC33 - Taliban and Red Unit squads should be compatible with the ALiVE mod, found in the Editor under CSAT/FIA/Infantry (both squads) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=668919514

ADuke Kiowa Warrior RC12 - Fixed the laser designator, now is accurate.
-
EricJ Helicopter Pack RC133 - A belated thanks to altar_of_needles on the Project Hatchet Discord for helping me with the probe hiding animation. - Added an "MH-15M Little Bird", which is a tilt-rotor (by definition of the Avatar movie Wiki) helo based off of the MH-6M. Other than that it's just using a different propulsion system - Cleaned up the AH-6, now is it's own config, making the seat assignments that weren't there go away. - Added an "AH-15M Little Bird", which is an attack version of the MH-15M. Unlike the AH-6 the helo features a FLIR ball, and uses allowed BIS weapons as well. It also has a full datalink suite as well. - 1x Hellfire missile now shows up on the rack as it should - 1x Hellfire setup for the AH-6J/15M - Fixed the display for the Pylons Settings window, drop down menus are on the correct sides for the AH-6J and AH-15M - MH-60S (2-Pylon) USN helo now cleaned up as well, now part of the MH60DAP config to make it more of an attack helo - Tweaked ANVIS-9 Off model, as well as the On model. - The 1x AGM-114 for the AH-6 has one round now - Updated Hellfire and Rattler missile code, hopefully will make them more accurate Google Drive is updated

WIP Mega THREAD!
EricJ replied to ErikGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
That's about as good as it gets I suppose -
ADuke Kiowa Warrior RC10 - Possibly fixed a lasing issue
-
EricJ Taliban Fighters RC32 - Added a Special Activities Divison LMG Gunner, using the SPAR-16S (Sand), the fire team has been adjusted accordingly, replacing one of the Operators
-
EricJ Helicopter Pack RC132 - TF562 Marksman now has an AMS (Sand) instead of the Mk17 Holosight. - Added a temporary solution to removing the refuel probe on the SOAR MH-60/92s. Right now it's a scroll wheel menu that the pilot can use to remove/show it. Until I can figure out a more Garage component solution, that will be the standard for now. Also only the pilot can hide/show the probes at any time. Google Drive link updated

Need some minor modeling assistance
EricJ replied to simonmiller416's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Lol don't get PJB started lol Fair enough I guess, as stuff is still not known, and frankly don't worry about it much, but would be interesting to see in SF2 at least. -
My Projects (EricJ)
EricJ replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Well Happy Belated New Year and all, but not much is expected from me, other than a project (which is a Super Hornet project) with Soulfreak, GKABS, and ravenclaw_007. I'm not doing much other than textures for the birds, so it's Soulfreak's project, not mine. I think when I mention it GKABS gets a little confused with which project I'm talking about, so I'll mainly show skin work from this one. The good news is that I still have to work on my own project, which will be within two weeks or so, as I'm mainly doing Arma 3 work instead of anything else really. I can mod stuff in that game so I gravitate to something that I can actually work with rather than be hampered by my inability to use 3DSMAX or Blender. Frankly the files that I have (the source files) are either .max or .3ds, and while I could probably import it into Object Builder, I don't think it will work out with what I want to do, or buckle down and find a copy of 3DSMAX and Blender is easy to get since it's free more or less. With the change of payment plan that has affected the site I'm not sure what I'm doing with my stuff in regards to the suggested pricing of the mods. It's only speculative right now, and right now the firm issue is that you have to pay a subscription to download mods, and that includes all of my stuff (and everybody else's of course). If they move into a price per mod system, I'll try and keep it low so it's not like you have to sell body parts for a skin or whatnot. Again I don't know what's going on with Erik other than what has been brought up recently. But if he takes the suggestion that users pay for individual mods then again I'll try and keep it reasonable if I do have a say in pricing. If not then don't bring the pitchforks against me due to abstract pricing, but again it's speculative and so on, so I know much about the way things are headed just like you. Anyway, I hope to improve the Super Hornet stuff in the future, just have to find the right time and place to do it, as I still have stuff to tweak and so on, but not much since the last upload for the Super Hornet stuff. -
EricJ Helicopter Pack RC131 - TF562 now uses the MX series rifle, marksman, and LMG. Right now I'll keep the M4 for the US Army pilots (the Desert version is still available) just because I like it as I think it's better than the MX in some cases. - Removed MASTER ARM-SAFE from the pilot's seat in the MH-92 (Insertion), not really needed - Added an "AGM-152C" Anti-Radar missile derived from the AGM-117 Rattler missile. It comes in for balance two missile racks and is capable of taking out (2 missiles) a Tigris and so on. - Added a couple "1x AGM-114K/AGM-117" racks, given what is seen today and in the past on some helicopters during the Global War on Terror. - TF562 SPAR LMG Bag renamed to TF562 MX LMG Bag, classname is the same. Google Drive upload is updated.
