  1. Engagement was the same as above, but with the Su-33, 4 x FAB-250s, 4 x S-8KOM (20 rockets, per pod), gun Opposition: Same as above http://562.50megs.com/DCS/Tracks/BaitNKillSu331211.zip Takeaways: It has been a few years since I've gotten shot at in a Russian jet and as the track shows I was probably (though the debriefing says otherwise) a little on the hair trigger, given that I haven't flown this aircraft that much since well.. some personal issues. Anyway, the aircraft bobbed around quite a bit and after fixing that (you'll see I pitch up like crazy, don't know why that happened but it was an easy correction) things got a little somewhat more stable as far as the flight regime. Overall you have to take it easy sometimes as if you're not sure, make sure or simply hide behind the hill or run for cover when it gives you the launch indication, which it did several times and again was able to dodge all four missiles. Again for time's sake (the maneuver of course is not that difficult to display) I kept it to only one launcher. As said it's been a few years so my gunnery with rockets and bombs and gun wasn't good, but in the end I sanitized the majority of the site, leaving the launcher as a reminder that sometimes you have to be lenient despite those who attack you. Other than that it was fairly smooth and shows I need to do some more practice with the weapon systems (second time so far using such weapons) and get the rust off of my skills.
  2. Bait and Kill (revised for A-10A/C) Me: A-10A with 6 x AGM-65D, gun. Opposition: S-300PS complex with only 1 5P85D launcher (others omitted for track length) Version: 1.2.11 A-10A Module http://562.50megs.com/DCS/Tracks/BaitNKill1211.zip Takaways: Generally going up against the Grumble is a very bad idea especially in the slow moving A-10A or C. Quite simply doesn't have the speed or energy to outmaneuver or outrun the missile. However, the way to do this is simply by baiting the S-300PS to fire, then duck down and let the guidance system guide the missile into the ground. Distance is preferable as it gives you that time to push the stick away from you and enter a dive. Speed is of course essential so having your aircraft at full throttle also helps. Again they're not speed demons but you can simply fly high enough to let it acquire you, and fire on you, which is the key point here, and dive behind cover, use the terrain to your advantage. Given it's been a few years but if the minimum height is modeled (25m or 82 feet) you can dive below that and the missile won't be able to engage you, even on a barren wasteland. As you saw in the track as well, I started already inside the threat zone, which given the nearby hilly terrain I had the advantage, even without any ECM on my aircraft. Granted I needed to practice close in distance Maverick shooting but the removal of the other seven launchers was to demonstrate the tactic without spending an hour evading 32 missiles, which i could have done by orbiting that area I was in.
  3. Please pilots, the max G of the Super Hornets in my pack is 7.5... Just so you know so you don't keep breaking a plane that is maneuverable enough.... Thanks.
  4. Yep can do: http://562.50megs.com/SF2/Super%20Hornet%20Package%20INI%20Update.zip
  5. But give me a day or two to get at least a track done and I'll post it here though.
  6. More tweaking... getting the shapes down a bit:
  7. Starting on the Peanut scheme. Normally I'd go into Modelviewer but I felt like starting it out the "old school" way...
  8. Me: F/A-18F EPE with 4 x AIM-9X and 6 x AIM-120D, tank, gun Opposition: F-5E with 2 x AIM-9 and tank, gun This wasn't a "pure" DACT but I did have to test the g-limiter now implemented on the Super Hornets. Usually I test most things on the EPE given the higher performance and capability and assume slightly better performance on the non-EPE types, due to the different handling characteristics. What I found out was that the limiter made me blackout much more and quite basically given the maneuvering and the constant blacking out, I lost sight, I lost the fight, literally as I smacked into the ground. So this is both the description and takeaway section of the fight as the Freedom Fighter gave me some "freedom" by trying to spike me twice with his 'winders at a couple times with the gun, as he literally was on my tail and I didn't know my ass from my elbow, so I hope to do a better DACT with 9gs (realism which may help when going against it) and nail that joker, as he's 1/0 his favor right now. Regardless the things I did do was not think, but react and drop flares (I recommend the flares and chaff on easy to reach buttons, I always map on the hat switch as it's more instinctive, even for a few planes I fly in DCS) and jink, and they both missed, but again... the 7.7g limit was a little too low and the extra 1.3 g's would have helped greatly. But the point I want to stress is simply your reaction drills in the knife fight when he tries to spike you with a missile. Drop flares and jink jink jink away as best as possible, and praying doesn't hurt either
  9. http://combatace.com/files/file/9401-super-hornet-package-for-sf2-v32/ Okay for youse guys who keep on breaking the birds, and thanks to Fubar512, all aircraft (including AI as well) has a fixed g-limiter of 9.0gs. So if you keep on breaking the plane I'll notch it down to 2 gs... be nice to my work, thanks!
  10. Dredging up an old topic... Implemented a g-limiter to keep people from breaking my Super Hornets all the time with a flat limit of 9.0 Gs, with thanks to Fubar512 for helping me implement it.
  11. Okay I took it up with a 7.7 value (thanks to Fubar512) and plastered myself into the ground, so the values he posted is what I'll go with as due to constant blackout during a DACT... just no, 9.0 is a good hard limit given that the average pilot can sustain 9gs. You break the plane further and it's on you.
  12. Just checked, no it's not but definitely being implemented, then I'll upload the update.
  13. I'd be lying to you if I said if I remembered... If possible I can update (still have all the files) or if you give me the line of code and i find it then I can say yes, if not I can add it and re-upload the files with it.
  14. Yeah but you're also looking at copyright issues... so if you keep it to yourself nobody's able to do anything, put it here and you'll get kicked or banned. There are a lot of cracked models (one reason Insky was booted from here) online and you take the risks that come with it.
  15. I honestly don;t know as he may have been pulling that much but he posted 8g's so that's what I was going with. It wasn't via video or screenshot, nor even a picture of the loadout prior to breaking, so yeah, not much to really go off of.
  16. I've had this stick for a couple weeks and despite the detent I like it a lot, a lot more responsive than my old Logitech 3D Pro and overall enough buttons to somewhat keep me off the keyboard a bit...
  17. Finally saw Flight of the Intruders

I thought it was well done actually, no smarmy love stories or nothing, just a good story to watch.
  18. Yes I know somebody is going to ask: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=133344&page=20 They deleted my post and I'm at 70% because it took me 5 minutes not to stomp him, but I did, so let's just get back on topic and worry about the real world. I got better things to do in my life than deal with a troll (Weta43 and Company). So just read it, move along and worry about a good community here.
  19. To my understanding (I'm done with the ED Forums as of this past Thursday so I could really care less about what's going on there) there are some real Hornet pilots helping with the testing and implementation, but I think I caught a News Letter saying they were having issues so in a few years they'll figure it out and we'll finally fly the beta. But more than likely as the Super inherited some aspects (High Alpha) and other knicknacks but essentially it's a new machine in my opinion.
  20. He only specified dropping the bomb and then pulling G (never thought to think about that he may have had a little bit more) but as such a counter SAM break shouldn't be that hard I would imagine.
  21. Oddly enough I've been thinking about that. I think so far the only way is to play hide and seek with it, pop up it fires a missile, go behind a hill or mountain, etc. Then just fly in and waste it, etc.
  22. I have the PDF version (never read that portion) but... I don't think SF2 can function as such (if it can then...) but Brain32 had the NATOPS manual I believe when he did the cockpit so I'm sure when it was setup in the Ini's it was done as best as possible. I usually load the thing out (as such in the videos) so I keep it fairly "easy" to fly and don't do any acrobatics, though in a DACT I was able to down an Su-35, or something close to that with ease though, but I'm sure some RL Navy jock was "He'll destroy the plane!" so who knows.
  23. I never got thrilled by the mapping of his Prowlers, one reason I did the "Jammin Jihad" one and was like, "No thanks." If FC or an equivalent modder actually did a Prowler that would be choice.
  24. Basically, for the Afghan map I just fly along and let the bomb to the work (though it's been a long time I've done that) but even then... hold on: That's generally what I've done, and never broke a jet yet (I can't, as I believe FastCargo mentioned I don't want to...) doing bomb drops, both guided and iron. Or this one:
