After Carrier Landing
EricJ replied to Falcon1364's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Also what plane? I don't have that issue at least with most planes that I've flown (which admittedly was very small), and which carrier was it on? -

It was probably updated, I just downloaded it to see if it was working, and it is. -
My Projects (EricJ)
EricJ replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Update for the Super Hornet mod: Right now GKABS has the source files, and thanks to FastCargo, I do too. Given GKABS workload (I don't want to ask him yet to work on the models) I'm going to hold off and maybe ask for somebody else to help. If you wouldn't mind for the 3D model portion to work on the source models (of which I have as well), then please either say here or PM me. Other than that I do have some stuff to work on, and it requires a 3D modeler for the files. They are in .max format, and if I could work on them, I would myself. I do some modelling in Arma 3s proprietary software, so I can work with that, and that's about it, so I will need somebody. Other than that not much else is going on. -

I'll give it a shot, but where do I find this? In the [Engine] portion of the Data.ini? -
I got a new book coming out on May 10, it's a fantasy story that has some romance in it, story is called "A Dragon's Tale": https://books2read.com/u/4ND8Y9 Currently it's only available for pre-order from Draft2Digital and it's channels,, but will be on Amazon on May 10 because they won't let me do pre-orders.

Super Hornet Package for SF2 v4.1
EricJ replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
I was planning on it as I need to do a Block III version of the Growler, and the newer pods would need to be done. When that happens isn't set in stone, but it is planned. -

It does, even though I don't really get much into the Vietnam War. And yeah it's a no-brainer that they should have at least asked, rather than jacking a mod and making somebody pay for free work. Anyway as said I hope the YAP-RW team makes a better mod and such. -

YAP was famous for IIRC shafting the modders who worked on the project, stole from people and so on. It doesn't have a good reputation, and hopefully YAP-RW fixes that issue. I know they contacted me about some things for one of their projects, and they give full credit, unlike the original YAP team. -

Training Missions?
EricJ replied to RhinoAviation's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
What I do is make an Air Defense Suppression mission, disable the enemy SAM/AAA and setup a carrier flight. That's how I fly my carrier missions. Besides doing that allows you to fly around the terrain unhampered and no threats. You have to make the aircraft able to perform that mission though (SEAD in the _Data.ini), so there's that. And you can fly as much as possible, but realize once you trap, that's it. You have to start the mission over to land again. There is no key to reset you on the catapult (like DCS I believe if I remember correctly). -

EricJ replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I don't know, but you should check the Start Menu for Windows Firewall or Windows Defender as I have Win11 so it'll be different for Win10 where it is. -
SF2 DOES NOT WORK, AFTER CLEAN INSTALL WIN 10 ON SSD!!!
EricJ replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Ohh.... that could be the issue. There's a topic somewhere (maybe somebody from the community can help), but are you not installing it on the OS hard drive? That could be an issue. I tried finding the article in the Knowledge Base, but after searching couldn't find it. -
SF2 DOES NOT WORK, AFTER CLEAN INSTALL WIN 10 ON SSD!!!
EricJ replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Personally I'm not sure what the issue is, and frankly since nobody else chimed in, it's a unique issue that nobody knows how to solve. It's not the Options.ini or Version.ini as that's automatically generated (you can try deleting them, and see if that fixes the issue, as it should produce it). Might be the NVIDIAdriver or that Windows Defender is blocking the program. Have you checked that? The Firewall stuff? -
Training Missions?
EricJ replied to RhinoAviation's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I think YAP had some too back in the day, but I'm really not sure actually. -

EricJ replied to AGOSTINO's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well it could be the lack of antivirus, but that's speculation. Sorry things didn't' work out for you... -
Training Missions?
EricJ replied to RhinoAviation's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
That doesn't exist in the game at all. You can mess with The Range/Red Range and practice weapon delivery, but most of all you have to develop a map to simulate that (I think the Nellis map does it, but if I remember correctly it's A2G) ability in order for it to work, and making a "campaign" might work, but you never know with SF2. -

Well you open the NVIDIA control panel by right-clicking on the desktop, and select the NVIDIA control panel, and in the middlish of the screen you'll see the General Settings Tab, and a Program Settings Tab. Click on the Program Settings tab and you'll see a list of programs that it supports. More than likely SF2 isn't supported, so you click on "Add" and select the SF2 Game executable (whichever one you need to use) and then go to 2. Select the preferred graphic processpr for this program." Select the drop down Menu the NVIDIA card. Then you can use the card as it defaults on the integrated driver (Don't use this). Apply at the bottom right and then try it again. As far as Windows Defender you got me, as I use AVG for my antivirus, and don't touch that at all.
