  1. When Operation Anaconda kicked off the Apaches took a lot of ground fire and managed to survive. They still take a lot of abuse today, but the thing is a beast...
  2. Soulman, at first I set the texture glossiness to 0.1500 but I also upped the engine SLDry to 6006000 and get a better "push" as far as speed, and changed MaxSpeedSL to 268.76, making it better. Of course the FM is what it is, but like Spinners said, I was able to fly it first time pretty good. This is after flying Jane's Longbow and Longbow 2 and what I saw in Afghanistan.
  3. Not too bad Dels. A bit glossy for me which was a quick ini fix...
  4. The FA-18F, FA-18E, and EA-18G folders need to go in the Objects/Aircraft folder. The whole mod is setup so you just cut and paste and it'll automatically end up in the right folders. Perhaps you did something wrong as it's good to go.
  5. There's a good valley that's worse than that just east of Bakersfield in SoCal. But where is that on which map?
  6. I guess the YF-18 is no longer going to be worked on?
  7. I was actually planning on making one meself but if you got it iahn755 I'd like to see the Afghan loadout... tweaking the explosions on the JP233 and a bit off on my aim though...
  8. I'd say smaller than that... or at least bring the hesco wall butting up against the towers.
  9. Honestly using the older model jamming pods tends to be useless so I just use more offensive or defensive stuff...
  10. One of the joys of flying the Afghan map is that when I do fly the map I do it all the time Nice map! matter of fact krfrge may be of assistance with building camps and stuff, as I've requested it for the Afghan map.
  11. I've been in that situation last month, where I was on the Desert Storm map and I had engaged... oh two or three Mig-23s and due to their luck was Winchester. So I then had another wave of four to six coming down on me, and I still had to get to the target... Hit the burners, dropped the bomb, hit the target. Then I turned tail (I think I had two 'winders left over) and hit the burners some more for quite a bit. I had range advantage as far as speed so I flew on at a cozy Mach 1.24 until I felt it was "safe" and they turned along their patrol route. But I have a good and a bad short DACT session on missions. Good one: Was doing a strike on the Desert Storm map in the Bucc and I had a Mig-23 a few miles ahead of me, bearing on me, but I think he was entranced with my escorts. So I nose up, unleash my only 'winder and smoke him. After that I was winchester, dropped my bomb and skimmed the earth until it was safe. Bad one: This goes under the heading "Push to your target instead of going Top Gun" in which I had a flight of Mig-23s off to my two o'clock and decided to bag one. Well I did, but his buddy shot me down too, so it was kind of pointless to try. Takeaways: I can ascertain the Jay Bird has a minimum detection altitude of approximately 300 feet or lower (without digging in the data.ini) and should have just moved on. Tactical patience... but I did eject, which is my only saving grace I guess...
  12. Landing after a rather successful mission.
  13. Unfinished WIP. If there's any interest I'll finish it And cadetBRA I'd like to use that to upgrade my VNAF forces as I have it setup for old -23s and -21s with a smattering of Su-27s...
  14. Naturally I had to go there, not bad so far...
  15. Honestly a more complete Afghanistan map, that includes the eastern part of the country.
  16. I have a similar scheme, CAG only right now collecting dust I did for a F Super Hornet. If there's interest I can wipe it off and put it up.
  17. Requires some testing to get it right but most important for any long range missile.
