My Projects (EricJ)
EricJ replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Messing around with FC's GBU-32. Finally got around to seeing if I can't improve the texture, and well... I'll have to redo the texture because the bomb skin is from LOMAC, but it's not too difficult. -

SF2E won't load GBU-39B or GBU-40's on to BRU-61 Racks

Relax man, I can't tell what you did or didn't do... I know it's "simple, stupid" but hey, I wasn't sure -

The only thing I can think of is adding "TLR" to those pylons. It's listed in the Weapons Editor as one, so add that and see what happens. -

Which objectdata cat has the Scooter bits?

Yep I tried it on the A-4E (Late) and it didn't work. Guess I'll have to reinstall SF2V.. -

EricJ replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
True I was trying to fix a Scooter myself but for some reason the hump won't show, so not sure what the deelio is, may need the "FakePilot" setup in order for it to work. -

True, that's why you hit the "M" key to verify. Besides Strike Fighters 1/2 is pretty basic: Waypoint #2: Departure Waypoint #3: Waypoint Waypoint #4: Initial Point (The waypoint with a square) Waypoint #5: Target Location (The waypoint with a triangle) Waypoint #6: Egress Direction Waypoint #7: Waypoint Waypoint #8: Approach Waypoint #9: Landing Lineup Waypoint #10: Runway End. -
HUD displays

It more than likely is doable, but by The Mirage Factory or somebody versed in that stuff. I usually adjust my zoom all the way out so I can see the HSI while flying though. -

I found some bits in ObjectData003.cat for SF2E. -
SF2E won't load GBU-39B or GBU-40's on to BRU-61 Racks
EricJ replied to mikeymead's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
It's the way the game engine works unfortunately. What you can do is go into the Loadout.ini of the aircraft and do this: Loadout[32].WeaponType=GBU-40 Loadout[32].RackType=BRU-61 Loadout[32].Quantity=4 This is taken from the F-15E thats in the SF2 super pack but shows how it will successfully load as you want it. -
Anyone seen this before?
EricJ replied to wretched's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
From what Spectre_USA told me, it's a bug that never got squashed. I had it happen to me in a campaign once, and once bitten twice shy is my feeling, but it does happen, and as far as I know not fixed. I would have thought it would have been fixed in SF2 but apparently not... -
I have a question about SF2 RWR
EricJ replied to extra1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
It should register. Check the particular aircraft's folder, and find the "_RWR.lst" file, and open it up with notepad. If I convert planes to SF2, then I use the base list that MigBuster had in his tutorial. It's the user's responsibility to update the TEWS list themselves. Also, I'm pretty sure in the SA-17 Readme for SF2 I specified the line you had to add to the TEWS list. If not my apologies... -

Afghanistan Terrain New Targets v1.5
EricJ replied to EricJ's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
For those a bit daunted by the terrain, the only way to concievably put out targets is to fly a mission, enable your DisplayDebug=TRUE and use CTRL + F12 and then "fly" to where you want. If you get something like the image below, your targets will be sunk "on the earth" and therefore not reachable technically by your weapons due to collision zones and "transparency" of the 3d terrain. However, you can also find areas that if you "fly" and you are skimming the ground, without getting the result below, then you can put targets on there. I found that out today with a SAM site on the slope of the mountain, so technically... you should be able to engage those targets without sinking them. -

EricJ replied to Mast's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Well you can go into the Knowledge Base and see about converting the SF1 version to SF2. The .out file is just an additional file that lists the textures. You can delete that and things will be okay. Another reason you may check is that the original nation is SWEDEN, you have also set it for export in order for it to show up. I did that and (I haven't double checked) it should be loadable, as I figure it's a Brit plane, it should have it loaded. -

Try this, and if it somehow doesn't work... there's another download in the SF1 download section under single weapon files. If that doesn't work... you got me. Meteor.7z -

Go to the downloads section and get 331Killerbee's SF2 Ordnance Shop Weapon Pack thingamajig. It has the AIM-132 in there, and I believe the Meteor, all for SF2. -
