  1. I was egressing from a strike mission on Dien Bien Phu airfield, and I had at the start a MIG-21 and a -23 chase me. And no I don't run from MiGs at all, but I had shot two -23s with AMRAAMs and one with a 9X in a furball, one misses the last Flogger and flies into a flight of Mig-21s also trying to join the party, and so it's flight was a little miffed that I had blew up his lead or wingman. I So I hit the target, and manage to turn around. The -21 comes after me, but since I'm jetting out of there and he decides the Hawk (in the picture) is a little tastier. Turning around I pop him with an AMRAAM and this is the quasi-view from the Hawk's perspective. I know it's a lot of story for one shot.. but that was a pretty memorable engagement and one that I've had in a long time.
  2. By the way thanks for this.. makes strikes more fun to do now Any chance of adding Cambodian SAM sites a la Linebacker III?
  3. Watched this F-15 get into a turning fight with a MiG-21 and got a couple good angles..
  4. Shooting at Ft Hood Texas

It would be easy to point the finger at him being Muslim.. but I've seen non-Muslim Soldiers flip out and not want to go either. One Soldier from a different unit while I was in 'ghan broke down at the gate of our FOB just like that, with his wife in the same unit (MP unit). Matter of fact when we were flying out of Germany a Soldier had to be restrained because he didn't want to go. So while there are reasons people don't want to go... most have had the sense not to go on a shooting spree. Pretty retarded to do that. But the overall point is that while they may have seen the signs, most people work it out in their own ways. I know I had to accept the fact that I may be killed when I was in Iraq, and had to do a little bit more in Afghanistan, but everybody has their way of dealing with it. But unfortunately this nut couldn't do it the right way, peaceful protest or going AWOL are better options.
  5. Well basically don't use HDR enb series mods with SF2I... I found out the hard way that the advanced shaders are already set in the game so I wouldn't be able to play it. Removed it and had generally comparable framerates so just don't use it in my opinion.
  6. Shooting at Ft Hood Texas

Waterboarding is waaaay too nice. Honestly there are saner ways of dodging a deployment... But thanks guys, I honestly wasn't near anywhere near there so that was the good thing.
  7. Well if you're just doing weapons testing... i.e. familiarization, then Baltika recommended the best map, and don't forget Wrench's upgrade... Though I feel if I knew TE well, I'd make a newer one, incorporating a wider array of targets.
  8. I just wish sometimes you can not have friendly air support (Escort, CAP) show up. Particularly for the Afghanistan map. Its pretty disconcerting when your stuff sometimes gets shot down and there's no red air. Of course you can just create a custom single mission as it doesn't spawn Red Air/Blue Air but SAM/AAA sites are definitely there...
  9. Nothing like freshly cooked Foxhound (head on from one of my AMRAAMs)
  10. Badgers and Backfires, the Badgers launched drones that allowed the Backfires to swamp the defenses... Though I would rather go girl on girl, but 'nuff said on that topic. Still it is a good what if scenario that isn't too bad of an idea, just need Wrench to concern himself with a SE USA map rather than harassing poor posters on putting screenshots for their downloads and the all time favorite, "WHERE'S THE README!!!!" In all seriousness it'd be nice, but then again the America SW isn't bad but some distance to offset some of the hellacious firepower would be nice...
  11. Well the only issue I would really see with the Navy is the personnel from that state up in arms too... in "Against All Enemies" there was a general amnesty given amongst the Army units involved (the state of Iowa decided to become it's own state) and stuff around that.. but wow, almost ready for upload? Nice..
  12. Of course the only issue is that custom skins are out of the question, since it just started, so it'd be interesting for some US vs. Former US hardware though... How does the US Navy fall under this? Will those assets be affected to?
  13. Well I don't mind the female voice mind you... but there may be something in the Sounds downloads, I know... Klavs81? Made a sound mod where it changes it to "Darkstar". Then again... not many people really cared, except for when you're about to get shot down, request help and get the ominous, "Sorry all assets are tied up" (which if you haven't noticed, aren't around anyways, sucks...)
  14. That's good in itself man I like it! Ahh you replied while I was on the phone... All in all it's about the states "seceeding" from the Union. As far as that.. I recommend highly "Against All Enemies" by Harold Coyle to get a good idea fictionally on how it would pan out. Generally I would go through the notion that the states pilots would feel "nationalistic" (to use the term loosely) towards their state, but you have to remember that the military is a hodepodge of alot of people from different states. I would say that various fights breaking out at airbases, "nationalistic" states forcing non-residents out, etc. etc. It's a big mishmash if you want to delve into it, but the story you wrote is good enough.
  15. Not sure about the F-15E units... I figured that any Annexation by the Confederates would force the USAF to move them North, to like Maryland (Andrews AFB or environs) or so... seems like they're stuck behind enemy lines. And F-22As in CAF hands? Not sure anybody would let that fly (no pun intended... sort of ) Unless you're talking "pre-war" locations when it all kicks off...
  16. If there's enough interest I'll probably keep the nose art, but it's a texture layer so it can be removed anyways. Have to finish up some stuff on the F-107 first before ir's released.
  17. "Flipper" did come to mind... just haven't gotten around to adding a nose art for it And closeup of the "Flipper" nose art, something I'm using for the dev work, more than likely not going to release it unless I ask the actual person if it's kosher. But impressive work 331Killerbee!
  18. More "fun" with the Ultra Sabre/Porpoise Jet (looks like one anyways...) and a little WIP of the slimers that FC hooked up.
  19. It's mainly the muzzle velocity, because you only specify the point where the bullet leaves the "point" and goes from there.
  20. The big problem is coding, or not to really degrade the modder, but bongodriver/craigbrierly did it very well with his Typhoon, so you get positive feedback when a weapon leaves the pylon. The F-4, and various other US aircraft have indicators in the cockpit via lights. I know the MF Hornet has a good system, which works okay with the Super Hornet (I would love a better MFD setup personally, but hey it works, but gets kinda problematic with a large load.
  21. Actually I've tried it.. and it's nice but I hate wearing hats, so while nice, it doesn't really excite me. Besides I survive with padlock views anyways.
  22. Well I haven't gotten to that point yet to be honest with you... still working on the basic camo first
  23. The B-1 Lancer, it's referred to the "Bone" due to spelling out it's nomenclature, i.e. "B-ONE" or Bone.
