Why does daily download limitation exist?
Trotski replied to osmanfirat's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
What WK said !! the team struggles to make ends meet as it is, so I think the daily download limit is very generous all things considered, I know it can be frustrating, but lets be honest, a subscription to this site is very fair and not expensive, so I would recommend you take out a subscription, and help support the site, as it is a very good one with a superb community, and lots of talent , so donate mate !! -
Oh for christs sake, this shit happens nearly every day, the pilot/aircrew of the Bear were bantering , trust the press to sensationalize the whole fucking thing, "potentially destabilise" the situation ? They and we have been potentially destabalising the situation since 1946 by doing flybys every day, it was just another day in the office for the aircrews on both sides, and the Russians were displaying the usual sense of humour practiced by Aircrews globally. The press just want to make a mountain out of a molehill, and in fact they are more likely to destabilise the situation, by knee jerk, piss poor , purile , reporting.....and as for this jerk offs screen, with all the press tabs....I mean, really ?........Oh and Happy Traitors day to all my American friends on here, have a great day chaps and chapess'es

What Should Be In A Strike Fighters 3?
Trotski replied to JosefK's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Oh you are being serious ? I thought it was just a fun question. Well in that case forget it mate, it's never going to happen, its already been stated that TK or whoever has no interest in continuing the SF/FE line, mores the pity , granted, but the cold truth no less. -
What Should Be In A Strike Fighters 3?
Trotski replied to JosefK's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Kblomlvist, I think the post was posted for fun rather than actual going to happen, its in the pipeline, under development kinda thing, at the end of the day there are more modern and advanced flight sims out there if one feels the need to get a better or more modern approach to this, however there are a lot of folk who would love to see further development of this series of sims, after all there are still folks who fly EAW !!! -
What Should Be In A Strike Fighters 3?

Air to Air refueling Brake Chutes as standard on aircraft that have them fitted Proper FAC missions Proper recon missions where taking actual photos is a pre requisite of the mission An Asia campaign including China, India, Pakistan etc. Backward compatibility is a must the option for proper mission start and end, Ie engine start up, taxying to the threshhold, and at the end of the mission taxying to dispersal, engine cut off working RIO proper huds with proper A-G , A-A , NAV functions CCIP those are the ones off the top of my head at least. -
I think most of us are still here, I sort of swap between FE and SF, particularly on the skinning side, I have a couple of re skinn projects in the works, as I mentioned to stephen pre Xmas, however I had a catastrophic Vid card failure and it took me a couple of months to get a new one, as I say I alternate between the 2 sims , because they are both great, looking forward to your next gen FM's Von S, they are always greatly appreciated !! Yes a Bleriot would be VERY VERY VERY nice indeed, an opposite number to Stephens excellent Taube, We could also do ( and I know I sound like a scratched record here ) new Longhorns and Shorthorns for the early war period, again I have Stephens "new" Farmans, and very delightful they are too !! but some early war stuff would be really nice HINT HINT ( too subtle for ya ? ) So Witeknight fear not we are still here and involved even if somewhat quiet at the moment

Hmmm not heard of that happening before, I would be inclined to think there is a problem at your 'puters end, and it is not related to the sim itself. -

Chemical weapons in SF2
Trotski replied to alex2000's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Why would you want to ? as someone one of whose prime job in the Forces was CBRN Warfare, ie detection and decontamination, , I know how damned nasty Chemical warfare is, so i suggest forgetting that rather peculiar idea, and go back to killing and maiming by conventional means alone !!! If you really must cause mass death and destruction , there are of course Nuclear options in the Sim, however the chances are you will blow yourself to the Happy Hunting Grounds along with all the other poor buggers , wildlife, flora, and other unassuming and innocent bystanders !!! -

Yes mate I have the original RAF 14 squadron scheme, I am unsure of where it came from now, as I dont see it on here , but I also want to do the MkII/ III marauder that were used buy the South African squadrons Speaking of glitches with the shadows, have you also noticed that there is a decal bleed glitch on the Port rear fuselage, just forward of the tail gun mount, only seems to happen on the port side for some reason, also the other little annoyance is the Starboard side engine, its miles off centre............like this Also the canopy framing on the tailgunners cockpit is wrong fro a Marauder MkI I have no such qualms about plagerism, if someone has a problem they can come speak to me face to face, if they want to mess with a 6' 2" hairy arsed biker that is hehehehehehe There are so many nice WWII and pre war aircraft that are crying out to be modelled on THIS site, they seem to get a little overlooked, we could do with some all new early Spits for a start, and some early 109's would be nice too. -
Does anybody have access to the original templates for the B-26 and the B-25 ? Trying to reverse engineer new templates from just a skin is a real pain in the Botty ! Not impossible as I have done it before, but it is a real nuisance and very time consuming doing it this way, so if anyone has the originals and are willing to let me have a copy, I would be much obliged chaps.

A-26 Invader even more so, with the 8 gun nose big ouch if you are on the receiving end of those !! But yes the Marauder is a very handsome beast , the Boston /Havoc were not bad either. -

Yes I know Kev, it was a subtle hint for you to pipe up lol. I have most of the available Marauders off of here, and I'm trying to do some new skins and markings , I know there are only 3 main colour schemes for the Aircraft , however I want to fiddle around with them a bit, add weathering, and correct a few of the panel lines etc. here is my initial go, but I want to improve on this if at all possible -

Cheers mate, will give them a test flight later on. -
Hey mate, just a quick question, reference your RAF Euro Pilots, with oxy mask, how difficult would it be for you to do another one, but rear facing as in the KAW pilots, there is one that is named KAWG and it is the exact same pilot model as the navigator and bomber pilot, but facing backwards, I could really use the RAF oxy dude with a rear facing profile so I can retrofit him in WWII bombers such as the Marauder and Mitchell etc. I have just replaced all the pilots and gunners on the B-26 marauder, and the kaw models are fine for the US versions of the aircraft but there is no RAF equivalent, hence my request.........look forward to hearing from you mate.

Trotski replied to Trotski's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Its just a shame that Geezers excellent German aircrew arent wearing oxy masks, as was the norm, it wasn't common for masks not to be worn , except at low altitudes, and even then they were worn, especially RAF ones as they didnt use throat mics like the US and Luftwaffe did and the mic was in the mask itself . I have a feeling it was something to do with canopy damage , as a sudden in rush of cold air in the face at 200 plus mph can be rather distracting . -
