ALBATROS D I REDUX A workover of my previously uploaded Albatros DI models, I have completely reworked the skins and markings, there are 5 versions in this upload, A factory "Standard" skin in ply and Linen, a version with a lighter stained ply and more yellowis Linen for the wings and empenage. The next one is an all over 2 colour camouflage over blue scheme, then an rework of the previously released DI of Prince Friedrich Karl von Preußen, which is an all over sea green colour, there IS a discussion as to whether this aircraft had a camouflage scheme on the upper surfaces, however it is only speculation, as there are no actual photos I can find of this machine. The final DI is an all blue with camouflage upper surfaces, of Hans Bethge of Jasta 1. Everything as always is packed up and ready to go, just unzip, and drop into your directory where you have all your other flying circusses !!! Just be aware it will over write any existing DI's you may have already installed, so dont forget to backup or rename the original files, to avoid any unfortunate mistakes !!!! Included are all the sound files, decals, guns, pilots and of course the actual Albatros. A shout out to Steven 1918 of course, without whom we wouldnt have the DI/DII Albatros in the first place, also to Geezer for the Pilot figure, and anyone else I may have inadvertently forgotten. As always...............................ENJOY !!! -
View File Albatros C III ( REDUX) Albatros C III Redux This is a complete work over of the Albatros CIII. I was inspired by both Steven 1918's and Sinbads earlier releases of this aircraft. I used Stevens original release as a baseline, and also took inspiration from Sinbads relese as well. However, these are totally new skins. there are 3 from early war, with the early style of cross. an all over Linen one, a Blue aircraft, and a Stained ply wood version, the next set are from the mid war period, with the newer syle of Cross,. A more Blue Grey version, a Dark Stained Ply aircraft, a Green over Blue , and finally a Camouflage painted Albatros. The next couple are both in Lozenge, one Blue, and the other Green with the lozenge on the uper surfaces, and the lower surfaces of the wings. Finally I did an Austrian machine, which is speculative, as some references sat the KuK Luftruppen did use the type, whilst others do not seem to refer to it being in service with Austria at all, but it's there anyhow, and the last one on the list would be a Turkish machine in all over Light Grey. I have not made any of the Aircraft as belonging to any particular Kasta, as information is not particularly good on this aeroplane, so all the markings are generic, but also different for each colour scheme. This is an all in one package, so everything you need is included Sounds, Pilot, Guns, Decals, simply unzip the file and drop it straight into you FE directory. Just be aware that if you already have the C III installed, that this WILL overwrite it, so please back up or rename your existing Albatros C III !!! A shout out to Stephen 1918 for doing the original, to Sinbad for his model, from which I copied and improved some details from, also to Geezer for the Pilot model. As ever ....................ENJOY !!.......................... Submitter Trotski Submitted 08/28/2024 Category First Eagles - WWI and Early Years - Terrain and Environmental Mods

Surely, having a monthly Sub is A. better, and B. cheaper ? Better in so far as you would have 30 days rather than just 2, and as a monthly is only around 10 bucks ( I think, as I pay in sterling not USD ) this would give you far more flexibility, and more available downloads etc. over a greater time span, and you would be able to cancel with a 30 day window. having a 2 day sub make little sense or fiscal justification. It is of course your choice after all.

Great to hear from you mate, it has indeed been a good while, and it is nice that you are back in contact with your CA bretheren.

Skin Making
Trotski replied to omegaeleven's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Paint.net can be a useful tool, but not really good enough to do a complete skin, Gimp is very good, especially for making decals, and the added bonus of it being FREE, is maybe the way for you to go. I personally prefer Photoshop for making my skins, I find it easier to use, however it ain't cheap, so Gimp is by far your best option. -

Your favourite aircraft to fly. And why?
Trotski replied to Mr_Tayto's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It has to be the JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG for me, or the Gina, of course any SAAB is also a contender. -
Excellent, Drach nails it again, I like the way all his vids are very mater of fact, and he speaks with deep knowledge. As for the "Takao Incident" this was hushed up rather swiftly, until some wise ass Japanese thought it would be an awfully spiffing show to make "Sience'ee Fiction'ee" Documentaries on the subject of The King of the Monsters.

IAR 80/81 PACK. I was not originally going to release this pack, as I was unsure of the reaction to a relativley unknown ( unfortunately ) Fighter. but after the relative success of the PZL's I uploaded last week, I though it would be nice to send these IAR's your way too. The IAR's were only ever used by the Romanians, and was in service until the early 50's so that in itself speaks volumes about this rather attractive aircraft. Anyway, this is a slight rework of Pasko's IAR 80A and 81C, I have also included a <cough> alternative and completely "What if" IAR 80P I shall let you look and see at to what THAT is all about !!! So, the details, I have edited the original skins, and have reworked ALL the decals, I have added the stencilling as accurately as I could, but there maybe a few errors here and there in the actual positioning of them, as finding detailed pictures of the type is just not there. The stencilling is very sparse, so I think I have got it mainly right ( I hope !! ) I have updated the sounds, and the weapons loadouts, as for some unknown reason, the original bomb loadouts were wrong, So the 80A now carries ONLY 2, 50Kg bombs under the wings, and the 81C has the centreline 250Kg and 2, 50Kg under wing bombs. The 80P however has the original loadout, because why not, it is a "What if" innit hehehehehe. The "real" IAR's in this pack carry German weapons, and are armed with for the 80A 6, 7.9mm FN Brownings, and the 81C has 2 MG151 20mm,s and only 2 of the FN Brownings . The 90P's are armed with ITALIAN bombs, 50, 100, and 250 KG's and gun armament comprises of 4, Breda SAFAT 7.7 mm MG's and a pair of Breda SAFAT 12.7mm MG's. All the markings have been replaced from the original ones, which I found too bright and "in yer face" and then I added on the differing markings from later years. Everything is included in the pack, aircraft, decals, guns, pilots, weapons, and sounds. I have boxed everything up so it just a drag and drop kinda deal. One point though, please please PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE ensure that the file GunBarrel20mm is in the Pilots folder, or else you will end up with a very odd looking aircraft ( this is for the 81C. ) I also swapped out the Cockpit, as the faux Spitfire one looked awful, so it is now the YAK 9 one instead, not accurate, as all the dials are in Russian, but it does look better.............Well in my humble opinion it does at least. All the sounds I used are in the sounds folder, including the sounds for the guns. That as they say, is a wrap. I forgot to credit Starfighter, for the Yak Cockpit, apologies to him for that ommision. AS ALWAYS...........................ENJOY !!! -

View File PZL P11C REDUX PZL P11C. A makeover of Zur's P11C, redone skins, for 3 Polish and 2 Romanian aircraft, updated sounds, weapons and of course the pilot. Everything is included in the file, Sounds ( including the one for the guns) Guns, Weapons, Pilot, and of course the Decals. I was going to do Latvian, Hungarian, and Soviet skins, however as the Latvians and the Hungarians only had one aircraft each, I thought this rather pointless, as for the Soviets, they only had about four or five, I assume the Germans had a couple as well, but in reality, only Poland and Romania used the type operationally. These are NOT the DAT/A-TEAM aircraft, they were originally done by ZUR for SF1, the DAT ones are a totally different model and LOD. As always...........ENJOY ....................
