Update #1 for SF2E ODS
Chauve replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I was using the F-14A+ available in the campaign (a stock one I guess as there's no TMF logo on loading screen) But I made a few more tests. When using a custom campaign with a different tomcat or a single mission, everything works fine unless I takeoff from USS Saratoga so I think my issue is related to this specific carrier. -

Update #1 for SF2E ODS
Chauve replied to eburger68's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It happens with any squadron starting from a carrier, I tried both F-14 squadrons and one F-18C which was taking off a different carrier. I have a full 5 merged game including SF2NA. My mod folder is also merged. I tested it before and after applying the fix. Any idea ? Edit : Just realized I hadn't upgraded my installation to april 2012 patch. Do you think it could be related ? -

I installed the fix but still noticed a small bug : when I'm playing a USN campaign, the mission starts with the aircraft right on the water instead of the carriers deck. But maybe PureBlue was talking about this issue ? I didn't really get it... -

campaign issues

You need to modify your campaign_data.ini so that the squadrons flying on your side (Soviet and their allies in your case) are displayed first. It's quite a bunch of work because you'll also need to re-number every [AirUnitxxx] line to get them in sequential order again. When it's done, edit your campaign.ini accordingly. Hope you got me because English is not my native tongue. PM me if you need some help. -

How to shoot AGM 78 b standard ARM in Wings Over Vietnam
Chauve replied to MeisterFuchs's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Beeing shot at IS the goal of actual Wild Weasel missions. The "weasel" flies forward with ECM turned off, gets tracked and shot at, forcing the enemy to turn on his radars. The weasel's wingman follows him a few miles back and shoots ARMs at those SAMS and radars. Although it sounds like a suicide mission, it's very efficient. You can rely on your AI wingman for that. You just have to tell him to cover you when approaching the SAM site, he'll fire his ARMs as soon as you'll get locked on.
