  3. Hi guys, From what I have been able to research the Israeli air force was prepared to use nuclear weapons during the Yom Kippur war if it was necessary. However this is unconfirmed and somewhat debatable, but commonly accepted as fact (we won't get into that now). My question is can anyone shed some more light on the situation in terms of what IAF aircraft were equipped to carry nuclear weapons and what type of nuclear weapons did Israel likely have at that time. This is so I can modify my Israeli aircraft to correctly carry them. From what I have found it was most likely the F-4 and a free fall device however Tom Clancy in his book Clear and present danger suggests it was the A-4 that was equipped to carry nuclear weapons? Royal New Zealand Air Force F-4 Phantom II Pack for Strike Fighters 2 Israel or SF2I merged with any other SF2 title. Fact: In the late 1960’s when New Zealand was deciding on what aircraft to replace its Canberra’s with the F-4E Phantom was at the top of every list compiled by the RNZAF and, with Australia equipping with the F-4 at the time, was the likely choice for the RNZAF. However the politicians intervened as they always do and the Skyhawk was chosen due to its much lower cost per unit allowing us to get more for less. This pack represents what the F-4 may have looked like in RNZAF service through the years. The Aircraft is the F-4E model however I have given it a ‘K’ designation as it is common for the RNZAF to change the designating letter on aircraft it uses to a unique one (I know ‘K’ is already used by an F-4 model but humour me). Includes 5 separate Aircraft that follow a similar upgrading path to other F-4 Phantoms and the RNZAF A-4K Skyhawks: -The F-4K_70_RNZAF which is the basic F-4E model. -The F-4K_73_RNZAF which has been upgraded with leading-edge slats. -The F-4K_76_RNZAF which has flare and chaff dispensers added. -The F-4K_Kahu_86_RNZAF which has an upgrade similar to what RNZAF A-4K’s had in 1986 but using the F-15C radar, avionics, HUD, ECM, RWR, upgraded weapons capability and a fixed in-flight refuelling probe. -The F-4K_Kahu_2000_RNZAF which is further upgraded from the 1986 aircraft with F-15E radar, avionics, HUD, ECM, RWR, further upgraded weapons capability, upgraded Pratt & Whitney PW1120 turbofan engines and reduced weight ( this upgrade is similar to what was done on the F-4 Terminator 2020 with the engines from the proposed Boeing Super Phantom).   6. Hi guy, just after a bit of advice. What is the better add-on to upgrade the SF2E terrain (I have SF2E & SF2I) ATI HDR Mod 1.03 or HR SF2E GermanyCE terrain update? And how do they compare to terrain in the Nato fighters 4? I have an ATI 4850 512 card so just trying to figure out which add-on will give me the best results? As I understand it Nato fighters 4 comes with many add on aircraft but there are issues with thier effects not working? Cheers from New Zealand, Dan.

  10. I am editing an Avionics ini file to give an F-4E a HUD and modern radar. I have off set the hud data from the bore sight to make it sit lower and over top of the HUD glass in the stock F-4E cockpit. My problem is now the targeting box etc is also offset lower that the actual aircraft it is targeting. Does anyone know were in the avionics.ini file I can change the position of the targeting boxes so I can correct it?   11. None of my aircraft (F-22, F-35 etc) that use the 2AR Twin AHM rack can use it for some reason??? Is it part of the weapons pack under a diffrent name etc? I am only able to load a single AHM missile on each pylon even though the data.ini calls for the 2AR and thus two AHM missiles on each pylon?? Thanks, Dan.

  13. Do you know what the rack is called? As I don't have the entire weapons pack installed because I just use the ones I want. I have looked in it for a 2AR but there is none.
  14. Hi guys, I am new to modding and I’m trying to mod the stock A-4F_Ahit in to an early RNZAF A-4K. My problem is I can’t seem to get the launch rails for the sidewinders to show up on the outer wing pylons. The stock A-4F_Ahit does not carry IR missiles on these pylons so I have edited the data.ini file so these pylons can carry them but the launch rails don’t show up. I have changed the data for the outer pylons so it is exactly the same as for the A-4H_Ahit_73 which can carry IR missiles on the outer pylons with the launch rail showing up but still they don’t show up????? Anyone have any ideas how to sort this out? I am using Strike fighters 2 Israel.   15. Cheers guys, that sounds a bit above my head at the moment as I am just starting out with the game and modding. What I have managed to do is create a pre Kahu upgrade RNZAF Skyhawk by using the A-4F Ahit and for a post Kahu (The Kahu upgrade basically added F-16 Avionics, Radar, HUD, ECM, countermeasures and glass cockpit,) I used the A-4E Ahit without dorsal hump but edited the ini file so it used the Kifr C2 cockpit and the F-16A Netz avionics. I then edited the data.ini to upgrade the ECM, weapons, countermeasures and engine. Cheers, Dan.

Two quick questions (I have searched and searched the forum but can't find an answer) 1, Were is the nuclear bomb/explosion addon for Strike Fighters 2 Israel that I have found mentioned in various posts? 2, Will this Strike Fighters 1 repaint http://forum.combatace.com/topic/32795-f-35a-iaf-skin/ work on this F-35 http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/9051-f-35abc-lightning-ii-v-24-for-sf2/ that's for Strike fighters 2?   19. Hi guys, I am new to this game and so far just have Strike fighters 2 Israel. I have managed to add a few extra aircraft so far but I want to be able to change the dates my stock F-16 and F-15 will work. Eg the latest date is the 1980's but I want them to fly up to 2010. Also I want them to be able to use the AIM-120 and JDAM bombs (which I have from my F-15E/I add on) at the correct later dates. My question is; can someone direct me to the right forum topics to learn how to do this please? I am aware I need the CatPack Archiving Utility and the weapons editor. Thanks for the help guys, after having a bit of a play last night and figuring out all changes had to go in the SF2I folder in the saved games part of Vista I managed to do what I said I wanted to do in my first post. :) I am actuly suprised how easy it is to change aspects of this game such as what weapons aircraft an carry etc. Dan.
  21. Thanks for the help! Just so I have got it right: 1. I edit the stock F-16 and F-15 individual data ini files to make sure they are operational up to the time I am going to change the games spread of years to in the step below. 2. I edit the options ini and singlemission ini to change the actual spread of years of the game and increase it up to today (2010) 3. I need to follow these instructions http://forum.combata...eapon-stations/ to edit the weapon pylons on my stock F-15 and F-16 to carry the AIM-120 and JDAM. However I am unsure were I find the ini file above that I need to edit? Thanks heaps for the help! Dan.
