  1. Am I the only that remembers a time when they said the internet was going to be free of advertisements? Okay, seriously. I want to backup everything Erik is saying about running a website. I have a small little something-something on the side and holy crap can barely cover it. Websites aren't as cheap as you think they are. The sad thing is that the mountains I see are cracks in a sidewalk compared to running something this big. But working on my own site has given me much, much, appreciation for what Erik is doing. It's one of those walk a mile in another person's shoes. I only took a step.
  2. Sad news for me.

Hey Raven, I'm so sorry to that you're going to be fighting this battle. I join the others in being here for you, rooting you on and hoping for the best. Sincerely Skyviper
  3. Feeling a bit nostalgic, but...

Oh I know I don't have a leg to stand on ... I mean Jane's Attack Squadron along with CFS3. I have love for those bombers too. And (maybe because I'm 35 minutes away from the world's largest C-130 base) I have some love for those Herky Birds. .
  4. Feeling a bit nostalgic, but...

Man those WCW game were crazy with controls back then. But those old school games did a some cool things that the ones don't do a lot. They have those extra little things. For instance Jet Fighter 3 .. you had people sending you emails about working with the F-22, out of cockpit experience I believe is something we talked about here before. I saw a video yesterday that said, in the game, to toss a characters letter into the water. Well that letter is in the instruction booklet that came with the game. When you did that a secret code appeared once water made contact with it. You're right some of those games did have messed up controls! Sadly there is one title that could've went somewhere but greed killed. It was part of the Capcom five.

Did anyone ever get nostalgic about a game, and when you played it again your remembered why stopped playing it?
  6. Feeling a bit nostalgic, but...

Yeah I can't play my old mech commander game on Windows 10. I sill say XP was the best windows they made. I wish I had the money to make an OS.
  7. Words fail me...

    Words fail me ... thoughts?
  8. Words fail me...

Again these rails f***? I'm not sure what Google Translate is talking about but ... Yeah I'd been getting off too.
  9. Words fail me...

    I'm wondering that myself.
  10. Hello boys, I'M BAAAAAACK

  12. CombatACE Interview with Leslie "Bitchin' Betty" Shook Pull up! Pull up! is a command many of us may be familiar with while using Strike Fighters or DCS simulators. But there are some here at CombatACE who may have heard the real thing. That automated voice is usually referred to as Bitchin' Betty. There are; however, several variants of the automated warning voice. Some call it Barking Bob, Naging Nora, and a few refer to the voice as Sonya, as in gets on ya nerves. Our spotlight; however, will be shining on Leslie Shook, the Bitchin' Betty, for the F-18 Hornets and Super Hornets. We got in touch with the Boeing Corporation who gladly helped us to set up this interview, with Mrs. Shook. We sent her a list of questions and she took the time to record her responses. The original video is quite lengthy, which is why we've included a 2 minute version that simply goes over the highlights. Lastly there is a bonus feature. Deleted scenes set to a lovely song performed by Jenny's Vision Project. All of the aircraft featured are products of the Boeing Corporation. It is now our pleasure to present this special CombatACE interview with a wonderful woman who has an amazing story to tell.
  13. I thought most of you would find this interesting.
  14. CombatACE Interview with Bitchin' Betty

They got back in touch with us very quickly. I was promptly connected with Leslie's representative (mentioned in the end credits of full version). Boeing is truly a professional company. Most folks wouldn't give us the time or day. Honestly I thought Boeing wouldn't even reply. I sent the query and a few hours later had several department heads emailing us back. Boeing Corporation is truly a professional company and if they can give CombatACE, this humble site of ours, the amount of respect and courtesy they have. Then you know they'll take care of their customers. Also I mentioned a new series that is in the works. Some department heads are willing to work with us on that too. So stay tuned to CombatACE for more aviation based videos. I'd love to tell you more about them ... but then I'd have to kill you...unless you're on the writing staff...but then you'd have to bring the snacks.
  15. How many of you knew about these guys?

First I ever heard of them. *ducks from incoming tomatoes*
  16. Do Navy pilots land different

Did you a hear a soft "F@#! you, captain." over that intercom?
  17. E-2 cable snaps on landing

How does that happen though? Cords snapping. I'm not saying anyone is at a fault. Shit happens. I'm just wondering if it's wear and tear over the years or if something just gave out at the wrong time before the crew could find it.
  18. E-2 cable snaps on landing

Hey Typhoid was that you? Oh man that was intense.
  19. Did you hear about the new Iron Man? If you haven't .... Here's the link
  20. My Favorite Lamborghini

I know you all are going to kill me for this. But that looks almost looks like a Pinto to me.
  21. DDay Then and Now

That was very amazing! Thank you for sharing those photos. From time to time I look at some things around my town and wondered what they looked like a hundred or so years ago. For instance a fence between a back road and the freeway actually looked as if it used to mark off an old ranch. There was a gate in the fence made of logs it seems. Funny how things change over time.
  22. What is wrong with me?

I hear and see things promoting the movie The Big Friendly Giant ... Articles read "Disney's BFG" voice overs say "The BFG" I'm thinking .... why in the world is Disney doing a movie about a Big Fucking Gun? Doom ... had a BFG Quake .. had a BFG Quake 2 had a BFG Unreal Tournament ... had a BFG Unreal Tournament was also the only game I recall with a deep voice going Kill, Then if you were really good and racking up the kill count you'd hear Ma-ma-ma-monster Kill. Played that game during senior year of high school "testing the network". during a computer class. So when you started hearing "MONSTER Kill" coming from someones speakers we'd all just gang up and find the punk so he couldn't gloat for very long. ... Is it understandable how I get a bit confused when hearing Disney talking about the BFG? Or is something wrong with me?
