Yep 53 minutes they recieved all the funding they needed for the first. I've tried to get an interview with them but ... oh well. In they're case I'll let it slide I mean for cyring out loud they're making a mech game.

What blew my mind is how many people still love Battlmech. I REFUSE to the play the online game. That's just mech crack for me. Next thing you'll know I'll be living in a cardboard box with internet connection ...

Skyviper replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I'm looking forward to that and the new Battlemech game that's coming out er or in development you know the one that was completely funded in like 53 minutes. Really I just need to get a new computer. All these awesome titles coming out and I'm still dreaming of the day I can get a great system with awesome internet connection.- 1 reply

Just wondering. The level DCS is on is just an awesome one. Is it possible for one aircraft to paint targets for another aircraft. I.e an Apache designating targets for a bomber or F-15.
-
Doesn't the DCS have multiplayer?
-
For those interested I just came across the B-17 Flying Fortress game at Amazon. $5.99 to Download. Link

That was a good mission report ... do you write books or something?

Limited crowd funding for SF 3d modelling

I understand what you guys are wanting, trust me I do. But these things right here will get CombatACE shutdown really quick. Have you have ever played a game that involved modern sports cars? Have you ever read the small print where it says the developers are using the emblems with the permission of the manufacturer and there is a ton of Trade Mark information? Making something as a hobby is one thing. When money get's involved you're opening up many cans of bull crap you'd never thought existed. You even have to be careful with use of Donation. Kind of like Brass Knuckles are illegal to have (in my area in anyway) but if you call them a paperweight you can get away with it. Are you Donating before or after the mod is done? What are your reasons for donating i.e to thank the mod developer? Is the donation in any form or manner a way to strongly influence the development of a mod/product? I've been to some sites that actually give you the option to donate to a mod developer simply as a way to say thank you. But in no way shape or form does that donation act like a paid commission. So basically even with the use of donations you have be careful. No kidding Mod Developers here are using some serious hardware and programs that cost thousands of dollars, plus time and energy. The models these guys are making may cost a company hundreds of dollars if not thousands. In a letter to me from TK they mentioned how one model cost them anywhere between $5,000-$10,000 to make (just one) (I was looking to invest some money with them several years ago. I was very serious and they were very serious with letting me know I'd be loosing money.) I understand it's hard to ask someone who makes models on these levels to do something for free. It's only fair to pay them or chip in somehow. But in the end like Erik said even without the legal issues you'd still risk the chance of killing the reason people come to CombatACE. Not to mention think of all the problems some have with modding their games. I've seen some folks just turn outright nasty because something went wrong (usually because they did not read a little thing called a read-me). Could you imagine a situation like that with money involved? Oh and don't forget what Bethesda tried to do with paid mods ... we all saw how well that turned out despite Bethesda's positive intentions. (In case you don't know. It was a very bad situation.) -
Exactly what I was thinking! Out of curiosity, I'm wondering: When was the last time a B-52 had to use it's tail gun in combat?

Kelly's Heroes, I still liked the General when they were listening to them on the radio. Go team go! lol. It was like he listening to a football game. One of my favorite lines. "Maybe he's a republican." lol Hopefully the guy will say screw Hitler and take the money.

Never forget? Still seems like it happened yesterday.

Today at work they were playing some old school jams (I say old school but they aren't that old ) Genre doesn't matter for me mother raised me to listen to all kinds of music. I stick with techno today because I can't stand some of the people singing over a decent beat. Some of them can't sing. So when I say old school I'm talking like Nazareth, AC/DC, Bill Withers, Dobie Grey, Temptations, The Boss, during a time when people had this thing called talent and could do this thing called singing. Some of them were ugly as hell but they sing to your soul and make your heart feel at ease or feel joy or feel love. So I'm open to suggestions. Anything but opera. No matter how hard I try I just can't get into it.

Time to kick ass - South Korean style
Skyviper replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Awesome stuff! For some reason I always envisioned the South Korean military as ... not like this. I remember seeing some explosions at an airshow once ... the heat, the sound, the size, the heat. -
I'm suddenly in the mood to play SF2:NA...

September ... there will be a new Miss September Will most likely look just like the old Miss September (if you're in to that kind of thing) Um Football. Um ... It will be one month closer to November (Fallout 4 will be getting released sometime then. Of course viper holds out on new games ... wait for the bugs to get cleared out first) Um ... oh and those aliens from the Doldathica System might come by looking for that money I owe them from the Poker Game. Something about if I don't pay up they'll blow up North Korea ... I don't how or why they think North Korea is the capitol of Earth. But they'll do it. So you know. I'm working on getting the funds. You see I created a committee to plan the best way on how I should about getting said funds, then that committee created another committee to assist them with that ... then well that other committee has created two other committees and those committees have created a few divisions and those divisions have created some committees and I think they're in the process of looking for the right people to serve on those committees. Which takes time because, well you know, we need to find the right people because this is some serious stuff here. So I don't know. Once everything is place, some reports will typed up, some policies created, then more policies that counter the previous policies will be created and then we'll have to figure out how to do everything while following both sets of policies that completely conflict with each other. As you can see progress is being made. And um ... well you have nothing worry about. At all. You know because the capital of Earth is on the line here. Just the capital. Seriously: I hope everything goes well for you.

For some reason they're celebrating Windows 95's 20th Birthday ... why I don't know. However the article includes some GIFs of the old school screen savers which brought back a lot of memories. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/celebrate-windows-95s-20th-birthday-with-gif-127497732419.html I remember Budwieser frogs but they aren't included with the report. But what I remember most is how DOS games would insult you for leaving that game and going back to windows. They'd say something like Action too much for you? Wanna run back to windows where it's nice and safe? Options Yes, I'm a whimp! or No! Give me more! ... never scene an option like this Yes. I'm late for school/work! or No! I hit the wrong button leave me alone!

Yeah I remember seeing some footage of this in action. Crazy cool stuff they did.

I just saw an okay show on AMC called Humans. Apparently It's an updated I Robot, with some sexual situations. Robots actually look like humans, and people think that the robots are going to take over humanity, etc. So far it looks like an interesting concept but I'm withholding further opinion until the pilot season is done for. To me shows like this come out strong and then loose momentum as writing staff changes or as PC agendas get pushed etc. etc. Almost reminds of the underlying concept of Mass Effect 3 synthetics vs organics. All in all though I do wish shows like this were a movie. No point in stretching something like this out over weeks at a time. I'm curious to know what some of you think about the show and the hole "Humanity becoming the slave of technology" theme.
