I'm looking to buy a movie and can't make my mind up
Skyviper replied to Skyviper's topic in The Pub
I saw predator one...awesome. What's up with predator two with Danny Glover? I saw a portion of it on TV and all I remember is some scene with a lollipop and danny walking down a street or something...the rest, to me, was so akward that I can't even remember it. And I never really wanted to catch it from the begging again either because of what I saw. Can you fill me in? -
Some of you may have seen this already...but I watch this vid again....and again....and again....and again...then probably would play some WOE after that.

I go to work with a retired Marine he used to work on parachute for ejection seats. And from time to time we have great discussions about the F-18's he was around, and the A-10's Harriers Cobras etc. Tommrow I'm going ask him these questions when we have time(he's the closest thing to a combat pilot I ever met sooo it wouldn't hurt I think.) But you guys are more of an expert on these matters than I am. Yeah I can recognize the planes in a heartbeat but as far as what they can do I have very limited knowledge. This is a non scientific pole and its ojective is to see if, when it comes to dog fighting, SKILL or EQUIPMENT or a combination of two play a majo part toward the victory. As well as to see if the Americans( U-S-A..U-S-A!!!..sorry) or the Russians have the better equipment. My Vote U.S.A all the way. In WW2 the germans had the better equipment... sortof(im thinking about the panzer tank and 109s that were pumped out by the hundreds everyday but I've been wrong before so feel free to correct me where I'm wrong)... but the Allies still won. Which is why I think Skill and proper equipment is the decidding factor. So What do you think?

If I were driving down that road and saw that mirage that low I would crap myself and then some. I wonder if pilots in America could fly that low?

:good: MMM...Gotta love that tomcat scent! Wonder if they have the Iceman Fragrence too Great vid

Ha! Sounds like something a buddy of mine would do! And I'd laugh my tail off too. Off topic here he test drove somekind of motorcycle and the first thing he does is wreck it lol he's ok but the bike dinged up really good. Ok back on subject. Both of you made a good point on the equipment vs skill question. And both of you made really funny post...those are keepers.

Hey thanks guys. It was really cool to hear from real combat pilots too. but (im still looking to get schooled here) could somone explain to me what makes the Su-35 so dangerous in a closeup dog fight? And what planes would you use for either scenario to send up against the Su-35's BVR or sight on? And please remember that I'm not trying to diss any plane or country, or pilot(you know you're awesome ) BTW couldnt talk to the boss about this...today was a bad day the moment we stepped onto the job site. Priceless

Forgot to mention both scenarios have the planes head to head and in visual range of each other all fully armed.

So I found this neat little game AC-130 Operation Devestation where you are the TV operator of an AC-130. I'm wondering what some of you think about it and if you have already beaten it. BTW Much thanks to great modders out there . I found the AC-130 add on and have been having a huge blast...no pun intended maybe one of these days I can learn the skill required to join the ranks.

Do think they should make a Top Gun Video Game for today? Maybe they could have the tutorials of the game take place at the academy and the actual campaign take place near the indian ocean. Players could do fighter bomber missions and since the F-14(the sexiest plane ever) is the only cratt in the game then cockpit, and skin details should be off the charts good! I mean everything should be working ILS CCIP gears flaps hook etc etc. Thoughts?

That's cool! And that would've been cool if they showed the rest of them too.

You guys are right the list could go on forever. I should've done catagories...so much for my first informal poll. And on a side note I had the privelledge of seeing the B-1 B upclose...it was a lot bigger than I thougt.

So, since all of you are really awesome, I want to let you guys know about a sim I wish I could make. Okay here goes. The flight sim can be land or carrier based( I like carriers so Carrier based for me) now your base has additional features such as a lounge where you can hang out with other pilots in the squadron and play pool, an old school arcade, or a pinball game . You can explore the carrier or base or watch some flight ops. If you're on a land base you can drive around a bit.(maybe too much on that one). But this is what I really and have always wanted in a flight sim. When you eject from the craft you can play a little mini side game where you have to blast your way to the rescue point.(unless you're in freindly territory you just run) What do you think? Do think they could do a little more to flight sims nowadays?

True. You should look at my old english teacher. The person below me wishes there were a B-2 mod for WOE

Cool. Thanks!

Didn't Jane do the Longbow too? As well as the attack Squadron?

Chuck Yegar was the first flight combat flight sim I've ever played. I loved the challenge questions it asked prior to the program running. I know the graphics aren't all that but at the time they were awesome. I was much younger then so I thought the aspect that I could interact with things like the radar and engines was cool...however I could never get that darn P-51 off the ground and when I did I'd crash in like five seconds because I stalled out(I think I was like nine or something and didnt understand the principles or drag and flaps and all that) It was a great game too. But my favoriate and to this day I can' t remember the name but it was an arcade machine that I only saw in one place my entire life(celebration station in Memphis) it was an attack helicopter simulation. You got to sit in the cockpit operate the pedals, the flight stick, and the...collective, collecter? (the freakin thing that helps the chopper go up and down as well and control speed) go got to use all of that...sad thing is though it that you had a third person view of the chopper you were flying(my memory is really hazy on that part) nevertheless that was the BEST flight sim I EVER played. When you got hit the seat would shake and pop.

Okay. Here's my plan for this economy. When the government takes taxpayer's dollars to bail a company out...the taxpayers should get stock in that company. Its only fair. The company gets bailed out and we get some stock to boot!( a little extra cash to buy more games )
-
True...it would be nice if they paid the money back some kind of way.

How come one government agency can't give the clearance? I mean come on its a used decomissioned plane. I can understand the FAA wanting to know about its location so other pilots wont think its a downed plane...that makes a little sense. I hope the wings don't fly off during a wind storm.

I have this alarm service APX. Very good service. I'm cooking spaghetti; I strain the noodles and low and behold one gets left behind in the pan and burns. Well I figure no biggie the vent fans are running. Well I hear this fire alarm that APX installed(it automatically calls the Fire Dept.) sound off. the alarm keypad declares that the smoke alarm has been triggered. I rush to and put the abort code in.(its only a three yard dash and I did so within seconds of the alarm being sounded.) So I call my buddy a few minutes after this happens and guess what I hear...you guessed it. Firetrucks(two engines and the chief to be exact). The cheif arrives and I motion to cancel(by mimicaing cutting my throat) the chief, a fairly large man, steps out of his red dodge truck with a big smile on his face. he asks "Is everything all right?" By the this point my heart is ready to explode out of my chest and I reply "yeah everything is okay, sir...I'm about to s**t myself-but everthing is okay" I told him I was cooking a little noddle gets burned...the steam is thicker than the smoke THICKER than the smoke AND not only that the other smoke alarm that you buy at any Wal-Mart or hardware store DID NOT GO OFF. I explained that to the chief as well. Then I did only thing I could do and I ask "do you any of boys want some tea?" He declines with a smile on his face and I appologize and tell him how dreadfully sorry I am. I have a lot of respect for them and I thought APX cancelled everything. The cheif says he prefers these calls at least they can go back to the station. He aslo mentions that I know the system works. We shake hands and part ways. Lesson learned: one be extra extra extra carefull when cooking. Two don't lite a candle in the house EVER. no smoking in the house(for those that like to smoke because I don't smoke) and there are plenty of resturaunts in my area....might be using those for quite a while.

Blow the candle out in the outdoors....that alarm is one sensative piece of equipment. I'm glad we have it. In case of real fire we'll probably have enough time to get the heck out...hell the Fire Dept. Might be waking us up too. They got there quick.
