Quick tip for saving 50+ GB on HDD!
Spudknocker posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hey guys! Figured I would share this I recently was running into space issues on my hard drive and it hit me I NEVER fly MiG-21's and MiG-23's they are simply sidewinder fodder for me so I went into my vast collection of migs and I deleted the Cockpit folders and INI's to turn them basically into AI only aircraft and i saved a TON of space on my HDD! -

Ya I totally understand that people love flying migs haha! My point was that if there are certain aircraft you dont fly such as B-52's and C-47's or 130's why have those cockpits sitting around taking up space... I also find the smaller and more compact my mod folders are the better the game runs and loading times seem to be reduced as well... -
F-16E/F Block 60 REDUX
Spudknocker posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: F-16E/F Block 60 REDUX File Submitter: Spudknocker File Submitted: 29 March 2016 File Category: F-16 F-16E and E Block 60 Desert Falcon's redone! I uploaded a older E/F pack that was pretty awful to be honest here is a much better redo! Made using the Block 50/52 models now to make it look better in general as well as some updates to the skin! Built using the Greek and Turkish F-16's as a base so if you have those the E/F should work just fine! You should already have all the weapons and sounds from earlier F-16 packs! Happy Hunting in the Gulf! Thank you to the Viper Team and everyone else who has worked on the SF2 vipers or this would never have been possible! Click here to download this file -

Easy Vs Normal flight models
Spudknocker posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hey guys! I have always wondered this but never asked is there a way to tweak the easy flight model to make it slightly more difficult to fly? Or add shuddering or being able to flare for landing into the easy flight model? I figure this is locked away by TK but figured I would ask -

I know everyone here has been waiting for a Border War terrain and have been salivating over the few screen shots released over the years... The wait is over! This terrain is a Massive terrain covering most of South West Afrika with the Caprivi Strip, as well as Almost all of Angola as well as much of Botswana, some of Zambia and a small portion of the Congo. It is meant to cover the entirety of the Border War Conflict between FAPLA, SWAPO and the SADF, UNITA and SWADF. The Terrain covers many types of environments from the Skeleton Coast to the wetlands to the great plains and Bush of Ovomboland. This is meant to be a truly African terrain to fly the assortment of South African Air Force birds available here at CA. This terrain was truly a team effort that started a few years ago and has passed through many hands along the way. The terrain was originally started by Centurion 1 and Coupi back in the 2013ish time frame and has been held and slowly worked on by a dedicated team here at CA comprised of but not limited to... Stratos, Ludo.m54, Jeanba, Pualopanz, Coupi, recently me Spudknocker and even more recently tiospilotos... I have brought together all of the pieces left behind by Centurion 1 and others and brought the terrain up to a playable and very fun level to share here at CA. This really is a BETA release to show everyone what we have been working on! If you have any suggestions or want to help out with this project feel free to PM me, Coupi or Jeanba! I could not have done so without Mue's AMAZING target area editor, Gerwin's FANTASTIC TFD tool and last but not least Wrench's incredible wealth of strike fighters knowledge. Also included here with the terrain are several SAM's modified slightly from the original SF2 SAMs package for use by Angola as well as a stand in Impala MkII and SAAF Alouette III helicopter. More SAAF and FAPLA related skins and aircraft will be released shortly! Thanks for everyone's support here at CA and everyone's patience in waiting for this terrain. -

Missions and Campaign problems
Spudknocker replied to jpenn517's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
When I have random crashes that seem rather unexplainable Ive learned from the SF Gurus and monks to create a new mods folder! Works 85% of the time everytime! -
Need help finding High Res Border War Photos
Spudknocker posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hey CA! Does anyone know of any websites to look at that would have bigger/high res South African Border War photographs that could work for Menu screens? Google Image search only comes up with very tiny images which are no good for menu screens Ive found some bigger photos on the official SAAF website but these are of static museum aircraft and very few period shots taken in the '65-89 period. Do people mind having in Game screen shots as the background of the menus? I know that the "Modern Warfare" campaigns use these... -

Retain map view after pilot death?
Spudknocker replied to csb's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Is there a way to see your pilot eject and float down in a parachute? Because I swear to god through some glitch or something one time when i ejected I saw my pilot float down in a chute... I wonder if theres something buried in the code that has an ejected pilot model and I glitched into it somehow? -

Retain map view after pilot death?

Super interesting questions! That would be pretty cool if someone has figured out how to keep your pilots head in the same place when changing from padlock view back to cockpit
