I'd wake up and there'd be nothing. I hardly said a word to my wife, until I said "yes" to a divorce. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the jungle. I've been here a week now... waiting for a mission... getting softer. Every minute I stay in this room, I get weaker, and every minute Charlie squats in the bush, he gets stronger. Each time I looked around the walls moved in a little tighter. Oh, hang on a minute, that was his dad talking

I wish it was the case. I want to be an American but US immigration policy doesn't like me, because I'm white, English and self-employed.
-
Why do you assume that all immigrants are just hard working souls looking for work ? The ones we get here in the UK are mostly scumbags from third world s**tholes who want to take advantage of our generous welfare system and socialised healthcare. The last thing they want to do is work or integrate, and the Islamic variety use our island as an aircraft carrier for delivering Jihad. But our politicians are too spineless to deal with the situation, in case some liberal talking head media prick on the TV calls them a 'ray-cist'

No fly Zone over Libya...

The true story of the Galeb kill is that when the French pilot detected the enemy aircraft he activated his ECM systems ( which in French aircraft deploy white flags instead of chaff and flares ) One of the white flags was sucked into the intake of the Galeb, fodding it's engine, before the French pilot was able to eject, surrender and collaborate -
I can't say that I have ever operated a still, but it's kind of on my 'to do' list - not because I want cheaper alcohol, just because it's illegal here and drinking booze annoys the nanny state Self reliance, that's where we are at. The government can just go talk a walk as far as we are concerned, they can't help anyone, all they do is steal your money via legalised theft in the form of taxes and hand it over to people who don't work, or are state employees in non productive jobs. What they have left over they'll then spend on schemes to spy on you, regulate your behaviour and generally make you miserable. All we want is to be left alone, is that really too much to ask ? Conservative or Labour ( Republican or Democrat in US terms ) it never changes. Except that the Labour Party always bankrupt the country every time they get voted in, it takes them ten years on average, but sometimes they can do it in five. Nice sig by the way, I'm not a big fan of Sci-fi but that is a hell of a good book.

Good old Radway Green ( RG headstamp, I'm sure you know ) I used to run surplus RG machinegun ammo ( they make two variants of 7.62 ball, one for support weapons and one for sniper use ) through my L42A1 clone. It's bloody good stuff.

It's insane. I desperately want to move to the US and become a citizen, but they don't want me even though I'm a gunsmith. My wife breeds horses, which is another valuable skill. Guns and horses. What on earth could be more American than that ? But if you are an illegal Mexican then the politicians are talking about amnesties. What about amnesties for white UK citizens who turn up and overstay their Visa ? are we the wrong colour to get cut the same kind of slack as they are proposing for Mexicans ? I'd call that racist..... Maybe I could pretend to be a Mexican gangbanger just 'looking for a better life'. I speak Spanish, have a lot of jailhouse style tattoos and go very dark skinned in the sun. I could even get 'MS-13' inked on my neck if that would help my case....

Don't tell that to the SAS, it's their weapon of choice
-
Hmm, what do we have here ? A rifle which I'm drooling over ( like Homer Simpson when he sees a doughnut ) But I can also spot an AK variant with an underfolding stock and two spare mags, Rumanian ? Some 5 round stripper clips for 7.62 NATO and a UK issue ammo box, plus a copy of Mig Alley ( now that's an oldie but a goody ) You sir, are a man of good taste

There isn't an upper or lower on a G3\CETME, it's just a receiver. You have been hanging around too long with the AR-15 crowd if you think they come in two halves, like that aluminium mousegun :) I expect you noticed that a 7.62 battle rifle has some serious recoil ? :) Any optic you put on there is going to have to be well secured, or it will shift under recoil and ruin your zero. Take a look at the top part of the weapon, the tube that the cocking handle runs in, and you'll see that there are two pairs of lugs forged into the steel. They are there to take a STANAG claw mount for optics. Those claw mounts are stupidly expensive ( real ones anyway, there are airsoft replica's but they wouldn't last 5 seconds on a proper rifle like you have ) What you could do is to get a gunsmith to weld a picatinny rail on there, and then you'll be able to mount any optic you like. If he makes it low profile enough then you'll still be able to use the iron sights. I'd do it for you myself, but I'm on the other side of the Atlantic ocean and the import\export paperwork would probably cost twice what the rifle is worth....even if we could get it squared away legally somehow

I hate Realtree, it's just about the stupidest finish ever. Well done for wanting to get rid of it. If you are really serious about taking your CETME back to stock condition then you could strip it down, get it sandblasted and then re-parkerised. Just be sure that whoever is parking it knows guns and plugs the barrel, you don't want the solution to get in there, etch the bore and ruin the rifling. The only tricky aspects of detail stripping the receiver are the mag catch and the charging handle. They just require a thin drift ( we call it a drift in the UK, maybe the US word is punch ? ) to knock the pins out. I can walk you through that, but it's easy enough to find the G3 armourers manual on the net. There's also a spring and a ball bearing which you don't want to lose when you take the rearsight off too. I do know that CETME furniture will fit a G3 with minor mods, so I expect the reverse is also true - just to confirm what Akwar has already pointed out. I really like the CETME wood personally, I'm a sucker for classic wood and steel battle rifles. I'm glad you like your new rifle, I hope you and her have many happy hours together

THIS IS AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL OF MY NON-ISRAELI FRIENDS

Damn right you do ! Good luck to Israel, and G-dspeed to her defenders. -
Well maybe so. But I have their stupid Windows operating system, the genuine FS2004 software and a processor from their favoured Intel manufacturer but still it's like a slideshow. It should run like a Swiss watch with no input from me considering what I paid for it. I'm no mug at getting games to run but FS2004 beat me. I honestly can't be arsed to play beta-tester for them over 8 year old unsupported software, so it's s**tcanned. Plus it's boring. Take off, fly around, land. You could teach monkeys to do that FS 2004 reminds me of that comedy sketch from the 'Fast Show' where Colin takes his girlfriend on a real time simulated flight in a 747

There you go then, it's much better analysis than what we get from those greeny, lefty, metrosexual, Islington Guardian readers who run the BBC and unfairly dominate the UK media because they get guaranteed funding by extorting £3.2 billion from anyone who owns a television ( but not me, I don't pay them squat, and I haven't done for 20 years, they can sod off ) Anyway, I just realised who you are. Top job on the Canberra, I'd be flying it now if MSFS 2004 wasn't so f-cking useless. I re-install that sim once every couple of years, then realise why I uninstalled it last time ( boring, nothing to blow up, or blow you up, and abysmal frame rates considering the quality of the graphics ) You should convert it to SF:2 - I'd buy it as payware.

I like her a lot. She was once on Newsnight ( back when I could still bring myself to watch the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation, AKA Al-JaBeeba, AKA the BBC ) and she absolutely filleted that sneering liberal 'intellectual' Jeremy Paxman. Her accent does grate on me a bit.

Absolutely bloody awesome. Amateur\model rocketry was kind of stifled at birth in the UK when the government decided that even commercially manufactured solid fuel motors were 'explosives' - idiots That didn't stop me making solid fuel rockets when I was a kid, but most of mine exploded because I didn't understand the chemistry very well. It's amazing I didn't kill myself... Things changed in the 80's when the government had a rare moment of sanity and decided that Estes weren't making WMD's after all. I think you need an explosives licence for motors larger than a certain class ( E, F ? something like that ) but it's not difficult to get. My interest has always been with liquid fuel. I would LOVE to make a liquid fuel motor ( although I don't have any illusions that I'm clever enough to make one that could work properly and still be light enough to fly ) I'd got some plans to make a NOS hybrid as a stepping stone, but never got further than buying the NOS - my little machine shop has to justify itself by making money ( although I don't find working on firearms as a job to be a great hardship )

Please tell me the store is down, I'm getting the urge to buy SF2 Europe and both the expansion packs I can't even lie to my wife about how much they cost ( like I do every time I buy a gun ) because she is the one with the Paypal account..... -
SF2:I best mods ?
Siddley posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I just bought SF2:I ( because I was so impressed with SF2:V ) What are the ' must have' mods for this title ? is there an equivalent of Nato Fighters or Vietnam Gold ? -
The Japanese wartime regime tortured one of my relatives, a sailor in the Royal Navy , who was captured during the Fall of Singapore. It's quite a personal thing for me, he should have still been around when I was growing up but he died quite young - long before I was born - because of the injuries inflicted on him in the POW camp. But that was 70 years ago when their leaders were idiots and I don't feel like it has anything to do with what is happening now. Japanese militarism, Fascism and Nazism are dead and buried. You can't blame people today for the sins of ( some of ) their ancestors - even if those sins were terrible.

SF2:I best mods ?
Siddley replied to Siddley's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
That's ok, I didn't download those anyway, I'm not really interested in prop aircraft. I'm getting an increased loading time with your terrain but no discernable frame rate hit. Nice work
