  1. I find it difficult to beleive they actually were able to get airborne again even at full military power; That plane was waaaaay too slow to take off again. As to cables being a hazard, back in 79 in the Med some sailors were killed including an XO on a tender in Naples which was Med moored when it moved during sea and anchor detail and snapped a spring-lay mooring line. Lines and ropes are dangerous on ships. Thanks for all the pics, it brought back memories of the Independance for me. Was a BM from 77-79 on her. Sure hard to get used to women being in the navy though...
  2. VERY moving... Semper fi

  4. Here's the link...USS Perch found. Check out the pic in the story of the name plate. The survivor of the Perch they interviewed said only 5 of the crew remain. They all wound up POWs with 6 dying in Japanese prison camps.

    Happy Birthday To

    Happy birthday old timer...
  7. Thanks for the links guys. I can always use more color swatches. And I love the art some of these fellas can do. Man, wish I was that good at painting. The only actual RAF camo patterns Ive found have all been WW2 RAF. I suppose I could do something like that as a "might a been" maybe.
  8. I was looking to do another skin and cant find any decent RAF WW1 camo patterns or templates. Can anyone help a poor blighter with a link?
  9. I just noticed you added file announcements for FE; thanks Fates. I think its a nice addition to the forums and handy for the FE fans. I dont care if the nieghbors' dogs do growl at you when you walk by, yur ok in my book...
  10. Thats cool. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.
  11. As if my bloodcurdling screams as I plummet to the grounds in flame encased shredded steel werent enough warning of an impending crash... Very cool A-10 package though, definately the best by far yet. WELL DONE and BZ TEAM!

  15. Ive had the stock Alb DV fly in formation of two aircraft, turn hard to attack me and both planes drop out of the sky. Ive noticed several planes, some stock, some not, that if you turn hrd, you side slip far more than you should, losing altitude at an unusually high rate. Some of the planes when they hit the ground dont explode right away, but instead start smoking, then actually get back in the air again! Wierd SFP1 FM...
  16. View File ***Bristol M1c skin template*** This is a template for the Bristol M1c model by Sabre51/Laton. It is a PSD file I made from the original skin supplied with the models' release. I added parts labels, ribs/lines, and improved RAF markings. This is only the main "Bristol" skin file, not the "Misc" or "Engine" files that were also included as they should pretty much stay the same unless you want to repaint the wheels on the Misc file, then your on your own...lol. I did not have the original template to work with so the paint is spread over a larger area then nessassary, espesially on the wings. But that shouldnt be a problem. Also, the "Dirt" layer doesnt have anything on it; some of you pros can do that. Credits: -Sabre51 for an outstanding aircraft model and the original skin with the aircraft that I used for this template.
