AerialNukeEffect.ini file
tonipm99 replied to UllyB's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'm sure it's this one, but it's from SF2 so it may be a different file. If it is the same file as the one you need it should work perfectly even if it comes from an SF2 download. AerialNukeEffect.ini -

COLUMN ?
tonipm99 replied to acesfakia's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I can't access it either, it redirects me back to CombatACE. Any news we may have missed? -
Nah, that's just a scratch! Just a bit of polish and it'll look like it just came out of the dealership!

Kill without weapons?
tonipm99 replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
^ That. If you crash into another aircraft, it will count as if you shot it down. Also, if you're destroyed, it count as if the other guy shot you down. -
My condolences to the victims and their families. May they rest in peace. (Won't anyone do anything? Will goverments keep dropping bombs somewhere on the desert and hope these attacks stop?)

To be honest, I think it could sort of 'redeem' the F-35. Lots of people love the F-14 because of Top Gun, so maybe, if done right, the sequel could convince people that the F-35 isn't that bad (not me, I just won't). Although, looking at it purely from an story-telling perspective, I don't think Top Gun needed a sequel. Maverick becomes an instructor while banging the woman whose name I don't remember. The end. The action-filled part of his life is over. I'm thinking the plot could be like Cars 3's; with new guys replacing the old ones, while they try their best to keep up. They can even make up a bit of history and have the F-14s replaced directly by the F-35s, so not only the pilots but their trusted aircraft are replaced aswell. Of course all this won't happen because Mave became an instructor, so it is his job to get the old pilots replaced by younger ones. I'm not exactly looking forward to this movie, I don't think the plot will be as unique as Top Gun's was, and I think the F-35 is an ugly turd, I'd rather watch 50 Shades of whatever than an entire film of F-35s (no offense, but I just hate that thing).

Anyone Running A Virtual Machine in Windows 10?
tonipm99 replied to Geary's topic in Hardware/Software Chat
I don't know a thing about Virtual Machines, but before I got SF2, I ran SFP1 on Windows 7, and it barely worked. It was glitchy, add-ons didn't even load... it was so bad I had to get SF2. I don't know if you've run a Series 1 game in 7 before, but it didn't work for me. Maybe it was my copy of either the game or the OS that wasn't properly installed. Again, if it has worked for you before, just ignore me, but if I were you I'd run XP instead if 7. -
Well, never seen that before! In theory the concept seems good. I don't think modern aircraft would have much of a problem landing while turning, and neither would pilots. But in practice, I'd say it'd only be useful in places where the wind is pretty much non-existent. Just imagine the headache of landing while the wind's constantly changing directions. Oh, and the radius seems too small. And - Thinking about it right now I'm seeing a lot of problems with it. I think it'd be easier if aircraft's landing and take-off speeds were lowered, thus allowing for smaller runways. Also, existing airports would easily have the unneeded part of the runway removed if space is really that much of an issue, unlike a circular runway.

OK, Explain SF2 Stealth Values to Me...
tonipm99 replied to PFunk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
As far as I know, both the BaseRCSModifier and the HeatSignatureModifier are pretty much useless; it's not that they have optimistic values, it's that only extremely small numbers make a difference, if there's any. I remember reading somewhere on this forum that they did almost nothing, at least if it's the AI craft the one with the modifiers, and they couldn't tell if it did make a difference in the player aircraft. You have to keep in mind that the most modern avionics that are coded in and work are from the 80s, introduced in the NA expansion. Anything more modern than that, and we just have to make-do with what we have. The stealth-related stuff apparently doesn't work, almost at all. Just don't worry about it, just like TVC or HMDs, there's nothing that allows for a proper simulation of it. -
The new F-22s could be built as an upgraded variant, with systems from the F-35. Since the airframes would be brand-new, all incompatibility issues could be fixed. Yes, the cost of all this would be astronomical, probably tens of billions, and the result might be a very different F-22 (internally), but it'd allow the new crafts to have the "software updates" that the F-35 can have, which as far as I know the F-22 doesn't have. Maybe the reduced cost of future upgrades would make the development of this new variant worth it. Or maybe they could just build new F-22As as they are, which in my opinion would be a waste of money,

Creo que solo lo puedes comprar por internet, aunque no estoy seguro. Yo también lo estuve buscando en España pero por lo que sé no hay versión en disco.

It's looking pretty damn good. Honestly I wasn't expecting Stonehenge, and I hope they have a good in-universe reason to bring it back. Also, a F-104? My mind was blown when I saw it.

Su-37 Yellow Squadron skinpack
tonipm99 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Su-37 Yellow Squadron skinpack File Submitter: tonipm99 File Submitted: 21 July 2016 File Category: What If Skins Skinpack including 4 skins from Ace Combat 04; Yellow 13, Yellow 4, Jean-Louis, and Gene. The skin itself is edited from Jetfreak-7's Yellow 13 skin for HAWX, you can find it here --> http://jetfreak-7.deviantart.com/art/Su-37-Yellow-Squadron-331659969 A little info about the pilots: -Yellow 13 and 4 were part of the 156th Tactical Fighter Wing, also known as Aquila, however, due to the yellow bellies of their Su-37s, the squadron was commonly known as the Yellow Squadron. The nicknames of their pilots came from the number of their aircraft, for example, Yellow 13 isn't the thirteenth pilot of the squadron, he pilots the 013 aircraft. Four was killed during the Stonehenge assault after deciding to depart with her damaged Su-37, after a bomb exploded on their makeshift runway. Thirteen was shot down and probably killed during the Siege of Farbanti. Both pilots were shot down by Mobius One. -Jean-Louis and Gene are part of the Megalith Defense Squadron, a squadron hastily formed by a group of officers after the Second Usean Continental War to defend Megalith. They weren't part of the 156th TFW, but they had painted their Su-37s in their colors. They were both killed during the Megalith assault, first Jean-Louis, making Gene first-in-command, and later himself. Note: The Su-37 model found in CombatACE and ported from HAWX has a mapping issue, where both wings use the same part of the texture. This means that the left wing is always mirrored from the right wing. Sorry, I can't do anything about it :( Thanks for downloading, and good hunting! Click here to download this file -

DRAG CHUTES
tonipm99 replied to alexis99's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
As far as I know, the Drag Chute key doesn't work. There are quite a few aircraft with chutes, can't tell which ones (except for the F-5E and the Typhoon), but none use a separate key. Again, at least those which I've flown. As for the animation, sorry but the B-1B model around here, if it is the same in the various packages, doesn't have any visible chute. And finally, let me clear out that the real F-117 doesn't have a separate airbrake, as in the F-15, etc. I think, in order to create drag, it deflects the flaps and ailerons in different directions, but I'm not sure.
