    Yes, but also if you get your tank holed, what's left of your fuel has to get you back home. Not quite so important for the German flier, but still could put you in trouble near the lines, near enemies.

  3. Low powered craft or the older types struggle more, odd thing is I very hardly seen craft drop to the deck in QC. 1 or 2 maybe out of 4 or 5 enemy maybe. So I'd recommend Camel/DVII/Se5/later Albs as oponents, Dogfight, AI RANDOM, Normal situation. If you stay high then several of them should too from every QC in have done in that mode.

    Welcome Church You will likely need to start with terrain and scenery on very low (say 1 or 2) - I'll leave guys with similar systems to tell you exactly, but to get the best out of OFF some good hardware will repay you with a lot more enjoyment for sure.
  5. Well the AI in the N11 are trying to avoid the ground more than you, so tends to skew the effect but yes otherwise it is a tactic.

  7. Well we will try to fix it but for the moment try not to play the "game" just fly as you really would. Bit pointless finding out how the AI can be beaten and then applying that trick all the time to avoid it. Just fly as a pilot would - which would not be down low generally.

    Some craft have the loadout option already, DH2, Bristol Scout, most 2 seaters. They have special nodes fitted to fire the flares so they appear above the craft. We could probably fit optional load out to all craft the flare would come from underneath the craft though but that would be a hell of a lot easier.

    Target VIEW Target someone first (shift T, T to select aircraft, Tab to scroll through.) Then press F4 till you get to "Player/Target view", then hit CTRL+SHIFT+F4, and it will toggle between player view and target view" you can remap that of course, but once you have used it once it tends to "stick" for next time).

There are no settings in workshops for DM, it's for bullet strength etc. Best is just try it, we have no charts, as everyone seems to experience different things anyway (so many variables including craft, skill etc). Someone posted some settings they had worked out what was different in another thread.

    Funny thing Alt Tab has always crashed my PC even in plain CFS3 (and over several PCs). Vista64 works better in this regard. I find I can do it once maybe twice, if I first pause, then bring down the menu (Esc). Wait a few seconds then firmly press and hold alt first, then a second later press tab. Odd but works for me. Come back soon though or it hangs.

    Wonderwarthog, welcome ! Make sure you enable FF from OFF Manager, workshop. Other MS FF users may be able to help. Ctrl and ; for screenshot (or change it, I use letter B). they go to your documents folder, in "CFSWW1......... " folder

  19. Yep 1.28a is normal. You will only get hardcore (tougher damage) if you run the hard core installer. You can then go back by running the normal dm patch again. It may well still say hardcore in add/remove programs, as you didn't actually uninstall anything.
  20. Exactly catch. As I say most craft did not have them so you are well and truly DiD'd :) If trees zoom by you, you are OK, if they don't and instead seem to be moving upwards you are too slow.

  23. Fortiesboy if you see no damage - wings coming off (especially on normal DM this happens a lot!), bits flying, bullet holes, smoke, fire etc etc then something is wrong with your setup. QC has nothing to do with it. Put aircraft and effects on slider 5 and try. I see LOTS of stuff happening so really not sure what you are looking at.

  25. There are plenty of alternatives, there F5, z key, or "guess" as many pilots did. Many german a/c did not have more instrumentation. Some only the very basic Yep we can customise some and may do so where applicable, but the "time" reason is still a big problem.
