  1. Nice to see some movies at last- good one Catch ! Has the olde ww1 feel too nicely done.
  2. Guys at least try the fix Siggi posted, and also try this: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37997
  3. V 1.28a

It works differently now, so no need for numbers. Sorry you feel it's a mess...
  4. Thanks to the guys on this and other forums: See the FAQ near the top for intial set up http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm and also http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm

  6. 1.28 patch

Sounds like something else is using F7, TrackIR, some other utility? What do you want F7 to do ? Press Esc in flight Controls, edit, save as Mine
  7. Thanks Catfish, we never know what the future holds, we never thought we could do what we have done, but hey . here we are now :) We know most of the limitations and possibilities as we have been working on it so long now, and there are 100's of small things would could do but even the small things take some time, some of them too great an amount for small return. Anyway we will see what we can be done in the future. Next we want to make more craft, and to do that all other things become secondary.
  8. Wow Catfish ;) 15 questions takes some time - let's hope everyone doesn't do this or P4 will never be done.. ;) I prefer WM's answer but.. EIII is fine and much better now too. It wasn't a great flyer, was an extremely early design, used wing warping, what can you expect from that? But it did have a synchronised, reliable gun. Fearsome versus limited ammo opponents. Don't fly right behind two seaters they will put your lights out! 2 seaters are MUCH easier now so I think your tactics need to be refined some? 1. Yes but decided not to do that - maybe P4. 2. Yes we can do more on crashes more variants etc but P4 3. Maybe yes, P4. But all this is not easy and takes time, so wonder my RB did it too mmm ;) 4. Don't know if it's possible. 5. Low powered craft have trouble flying let alone breaking for home when damaged, maybe P4. AI does break for home, just not as often as it should (plus it just flies straight so makes it too easy for you to kill, and then that's something else we'd have to add/fix lol). 6. OK yes we need to write large amounts of AI code to cope with that.. probably better spending that time on other good stuff, but P4 maybe. 7. Depends, diving away was a good tactic then speed and head for your lines. If in QC use RANDOM AI. Much better mix. 8. AI isn't human and does not have all the problems/issues. More code it could be done, P4 maybe. Also remember maybe some leaks stop in real life too (hole half way up the tank?) oil burns off but has enough to fly on? 8. no2. Maybe :) 9. No.
  9. Hi Steve58 - USPS usually.
  10. PATCH 1.28a is now available! Please see the downloads section on our website for details. http://www.overflandersfields.com This will update any version of BH&H to V1.28a. Also we have made two optional Damage model packs. 1 is Hard Core 2 is Normal So you can switch between the two, and are independent of V1.28a. However please note Multiplayer guys will need to ALL have THE SAME PACK INSTALLED!
  11. V1.28a will be up tonight...

    1. No. Hard Core Damage model is OPTIONAL please see the download page - it is nothing to do with 1.28a at all. 2. Yes we have and will likely do this of course. Just takes a lot of time and effort to make just one model and get it in the sim... patience :)
  12. Yeah seems to be a problem with ground objects in CFS3 -same with the trucks that don't always explode correctly. If you see if hang in the air shoot it some some it should explode.
  13. Vista 64 bit

OK great :) Yeah saves you a shed load of cash too so can't be bad.
  14. It may seem like a while to get confirmed but you are by default flying around THREE missions a day, so after all that your claim probably hasn't even left the building. It takes days or weeks! Stay alive, or reduce the mission frequency or use auto/manual campaign advance option. If you cannot work out how to claim properly (pretty easy really) then switch to easier claims whatever. No need to moan, do it right, or choose an easier option job done.. )
  15. Sopwith Camel the Widowmaker

Uncleal you could adjust some, but the main fault or issues with the craft you could not trim or rig out on the ground. BTW it's rotary engine in these WW1 types not radial guys, radial does not rotate itself.
  16. DM: just right after 1.28?

This is the problem everyone has an opinion but may have wildly varying settings, PCs, skills. Also there are two problems that clash. Realistic Damage/Kills versus Realistic Number of Kills As has been said many times, we have all many 1000's of virtual hours flying. The poor guy in WW1 with maybe 10 /12 hours flying in another type then being told to go fly over the lines in a Camel the one that's killed as many in training as in combat. With 1 life, you would not engaged mostly certainly not prolonged as we do. So many many variables. If the DM was absolutely perfect and matched real conditions absolutely exactly, you would still get the wrong kill tally as you are too skilled, and have infinite virtual lives to play with reducing your fear and forces interfering with that process by a vast amount. In game with no labels, no warp, and no radar etc, you will not last long enough to get 100 kills that's the point as you will as we all do switch off looking around whilst struggling to stay in formation, or checking your map or whatever. Don't fly with Warp if you want to get the odd realistic surprise from above ;)
  17. Sopwith Camel the Widowmaker

CFS3 sometimes auto trims but it has bucket loads of torque and gyro precession in the Camel FM if it feels tame then soemthing isnt right there. It takes some mastering but do not apply FULL rudder it will vary throughout the turn, but bank hard right then pull back hardish, and with left rudder maybe 50%-75% then move it quickly to hold the turn. Works for me. Do not trim or auto trim it either. It will drop the nose in a RH turn and raise it in a Left hand turn. Also it's tail heavy as it should (did I mention not to trim it?).
  18. Iron sight view

Some models do not have a view right down the sight actually in the model XDP editing will not really help. A firmly fixed view is unrealistic best use the TrackIR and simply fire a round or two and see the tracers as a guide to line up your eye, pretty easy for most with a bit of practice. In reality the iron sights at least were pretty ineffective and rarely used with the forces involved and movement of the pilot.
  19. Ram & Performance

Problem is you are using your much needed RAM to instead be a "hard drive". Probably more performance to be had keeping it as RAM. Once the sim is loaded, HD access will be reduced. If you are going to bother with Vista then go for Vista 64. Works very well in terms of driver support and most things I ran work fine. Can access all your memory - I have an install with 8GB . Windows 7 will be the one to go for though, so if budget is tight go for XP and get Win7 later.
  20. Vista 64 bit

Hellshade Requirements are on the web ... http://www.overflandersfields.com/sysreq.htm
  21. 1.28 patch

Reinstall yes, corrupt files are corrupt files. The manager is what you MUST run to lauch OFF Should be a brown icon on your desktop called Over Flanders Fields... If you are not running via that it might explain errors
  22. SCREEN SHOTS TUTORIAL

    Default keys for screenshots is press CTRL and ;
  23. OK I managed to check balloon missions, I saw 4 balloons destroyed, 3 were fine, 1 showed no damage etc as above, so probably why not many reports. We'll look into it, may not be fixable as it's random but we can look...
  24. K cool, use shift+F8 for the gunner, avoids the need to remap TIR
  25. Andqui your video is quite a lowly one for BH&H , not much you can do, apart from try the ATI video tweaks in the FAQ
