Parasol :) -
Mission briefing shows you were you are heading, so makes notes. Also map in game (M) shows you too. Visual awareness "radar" (shift+t) shows blue line for heading too. F5 brings up extra instruments on screen, compass etc. OR if you look around most pits have compass somewhere (SPAD down inside left, Tripe middle of dash, Albs down right etc.. EIII on right wing, DFW on left wing :)

Problem with Balloons in version 1.26+hotfix

No one else with the issue? Maybe try a "reset CFS3" ricnunes. (you will lose pilots) We did no changes to balloons at all. In fact your bullets are now even stronger. We have to slow down now, we can't verify every persons possible "bug" immediately, first thing is try the basics on your install unless someone else can confirm the problem? -

Er yeah once you download a patch, you have to unpack it first (see download page for instrutions). THEN find the file you unpacked it to, and run it to INSTALL the patch.

Why don't my trim inputs stick?

Trim was not something that any of the team use or test as most WWI craft had no or crude trim. Auto trim can be used if you really want to, only issue with it at the moment is warp breaks it. A work around is simply as per the known issues thread (http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=37934) - disable it before using warp then renable. But we will look into it. Winder is taking a well earned break, so it won't be a usual lightning fast update... -

Indeed as some structures are weaker now too - but so are yours :) -
Train others up? Been there done that got the tee-shirt, paper back etc. Problem is most people give up at some point or take a long time to make anything, so now I'd just fire tutorials out as WF2 says :) Anyone who believes they can stick at it and work quickly have a look at this wonderful tutorial for CFS3 modelling: http://www3.telus.net/murrdaka/tutorial/B2BNZ.htm and get an idea.

OK good thanks for trying AP. Autotrim was definitely not tested as many a/c did not have trim for the most part, and others could not be turned into a placid a/c that's part of the fun anyway.

Because if a Squadron had a DI then a DII then a DIII, and we do not have a DI model.. and lets say your brit squadron would fight that squadron a lot. We have dilemas ... make them incorrectly fly a EIII instead (also in the wrong period perhaps) when the squadron may also never have flown an EIII at all anyway (bad) ... or we use an existing model that they did fly.. but substitute it for an earlier or later model, or we totally kill usage of that squadron for that period - and so you have no enemy nearby ;) Any of those aren't 100% great. Also from a player point of view we either start the squadron with "craft not available" warning so confuses some people who do not realise you can choose another date... Also if a player is in a squadron and wants to fly the whole life of the squadron, but right in the middle his N17 gets replaced with a N23 which isn't in the game?? Believe it or not we have thought long and hard about all sorts of issues unseen to the player and we think made the right choices in places. Shredward would be able to comment in more detail hopefully... My brain is fried anyway :)

Um AI Guns (Range) affects.. the AI guns... Range :) and the words apply to you, the player, not the AI ;) so Easy, is easy for you. Other settings below are for BOTH you and the AI as the hover over text tells you. Stick it on hard Craig to be like the older difficulty before 1.26. -

OK great, just our recommendations based on years working on OFF, it may look smooth, but the GPU and CPU is working hard. So less strain means they cope better with long flights.

Yeah understood no worries just clarifying it, as I say it's not the case. AI FM is identical (apart from showing in QC or not). Always an option for later though if we require it - so if people follow your advice they will be fine in the future anyway :) -
We have several half done, partly done craft. Just not many modellers .. so it's a nice long queue :). When we are through with most of the patching and support, then we'll have time for full on modelling. My Parasol is half made, a Dh5 I really would love to do next actually, WM wants to do Noops, but then we have 2 seaters we need, and a few heavies, list goes on and on. We have 1 or 2 surprises to work on next too :)

The windsock points to the wind, don't think the smoke does as many models would need dozens of variations making too and dynamically placed like the windsock every mission ... WM would know for sure. Mind you can get cross winds too though, and at different heights etc.

Questions for Shredward really, there could be some substitution in places as we have 39 variants to fill a war with... out of hundreds of craft that should be in WW1 as OvS says. Normally they appear at the right times, but in some places may have DII when it should be DI for example. or a EIII when it should be an EI. Otherwise who are you going to shoot? It takes a loooong time to make the craft, add data for squads, make skins, research etc. so may be a while before we have 100's in there.

Microsoft had a bug no damage hits under 50 yards.. "50 yard bug" in OLDER versions of CFS3.exe (v3.0). so if you happened to replace it that would cause it.

Not all a/c have the pilot model in there but many newer ones do. Try another craft (e.g. Fok DVII, DFW, N11, N16 etc)
