The most accurate depends, the image on the screen is what the pilot's eye sees from that position - he is sat in the cockpit. You are not really in the cockpit of course. You are sat .5 meter or so back from that flat representation. Everyone has their own preferences, I like to zoom out one notch to get a wider view (zoom is set to [ ] keys usually). The default view is to give you a feel of cramped WW1 cockpit as you often would be very close to instruments but also doesn't give you peripheral vision. 3 monitors helps but edges can get distorted. The models for virtual cockpits are designed to be used with the eye set as the pilot's eye, so odd heights or eye placement may cause glitches of course.

Hi Lothar, OK with you now. Can you send us an example in the xdp whatever to our support email address to show what you mean - if we understand it we can see if we can improve that in WOFF? Thanks.

The VC viewpoint is set where the eye is in the cockpit normally.

TMake sure you setup the grapgics sliders, try resetting cfs3config settings to default, save, (file, exit not the [X]). Then go in again and reconfigure sliders.as per the FAQ. Check your settings for filtering in NVidia settings. Try higher settings for example. Some types of AA modes can cause more slow downs whereas some higher ones work better, nuts but true.

Welcome Mudwasp48 thanks for the comments. WM's scenery is usually some of the best out there in any sim. HITR usually allows 3 download attempts, (unless you buy download insurance then you can keep the download active for 2 years) but if you leave the link open maybe it will allow resume. If you have major problems let us know anyway.

No worries just wanted to point it out as it's a thread about WOFF ultimately. -
WINGS Over Flanders Fields - Preview #4 movie

To be fair WM, Between Heaven and Hell was out several years back.. OFF's campaign is still better than most out there -as we all know for a good WW1 experience more than aircraft are need. WOFF will be several levels up :). Pity the thread was hijacked.. -
Introducing the Incomparable Campaign Engine for Over Flanders Fields

Welcome AquilusMentis thanks for the comments, glad you like OFF and can see some of what we aimed for. WOFF will take it a large notch up too so we can't wait for people to see it when ready. -
WINGS Over Flanders Fields - Preview #4 movie

Lol Olham thanks, and yeah new sounds are cool. I think some of those collisions are my fault and some the incoming very angry AI - but indeed yes I do crash rather a lot ;) -
Aye the spinner is there just not hiding much. Scarf is history already.

Rail yard attacks and use of loadouts
Polovski replied to rjw's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
No problem btw in WOFF we have given them much more intelligence around target attacks and hope we can show more soon. Actually I should say 'given them new intelligence' as it's not just improvements but new AI completely. -
There's an extra Star in the Heavens tonight

I watched Sky at Night because of him - loved his eccentricity. Many a British comic has done entertaining impressions of him over the years. A good innings 89 but sad to see him go. -
Rail yard attacks and use of loadouts
Polovski replied to rjw's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
They certainly used to attack but would often fly off in a wide direction and split into 2's etc. Somtimes seems like they are not attacking when actually they are preparing too far away (CFS3). They would take a lot longer to attack sometimes (i.e fly a good long way out to line up blah - aso sometimes they would attack another ground target instead not the one you said to, aah the confusion of war). WOFF will change this and many many many things (think we mentioned the AI is a tad different in WOFF) .. -
WOFF works on Windows 8 so far (also tried on an old HP laptop with ATI graphics and it runs too) so there is hope I guess ;). As a personal comment having played with Windows 8, I will not want to upgrade my main PC to Windows 8 from Windows 7 for some time, until its Service Pack 1 comes out, or wait for Windows 9. I dislike all the simplified bland screens and colours etc too but on the other side as fastCargo says you can change things. There's a great little free utility (amongst a few) that puts the start menu back and let's you choose from XP, Windows 7 etc start menu. http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/

There are no user changable config files for that no, but you could use advance time option if you get a mission you don't like - when you see a mission go back to campaign screen and click advance time, then go back into mission briefing. You can set auto/manual time advance in Workshop settings which gives you a new button in campaign screen.

Something has removed a system file, or deleted the file it's a Visual Basic dll I believe. You can try the fix below this in the first place, seems to be a similar issue. http://support.kanors-emr.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=263&PID=1173&SID=98837f48-1564-9f59de96-z15256a2-73db6eae&title=class-not-registered-msstdfmtdll#1173 If you still have an issue maybe best to clean out OFF first including registry entries and reinstall carefully, installing the correct patches as per the FAQ. http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings then if still a problem contact support with your order number and OS and specific error in detail.

AI Planes Crashing with HPW EW Mods
Polovski replied to CaptSopwith's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Moving COL/COG can have dramatic effects - also can badly affect the AI in various places twitch twitch... -
Can't argue with 99 good innings there, S!

AI Planes Crashing with HPW EW Mods
Polovski replied to CaptSopwith's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Problems with taking off is almost always due to mods, we spent half a lifetime testing take offs. The occasional crash is actually realistic but yes generally they should work. Landings in Phase 3 are bad because CFS3 is handling it, and we could not work on it. It's not "broken" just not made specifically for WW1 craft (and never worked too well for WW2 craft in CFS3 anyway!). WOFF is completely different of course. -
No problem hope you get running.

Two beautiful new WOFF Screenshots
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
If you choose historical weather in Workshop then you get weather system based on reports of weather that occurred in WW1. As Olham said, during WW1 it was exceptionally bad (hence plenty of NML mud). If you instead choose AI Weather Gen (Generator) then you will get weather based on WM's Artificial Intelligence weather generation system, which will produce better days in summer and worse as winter approaches :) -
from the FAQ If you have installed BH&H, and then HITR addon, and then get an error running the manager such as "Populate Airfield Facility: Aircraft set up Error." Then this means you forgot to update Between Heaven and Hell to v1.32 (and then 1.32g) before installing "Hat In The Ring!" You will have to uninstall all of OFF and start again.

Actually there are a few very good fan made XCom clones, better graphics than the original 320x200 etc of course. In it's time Jagged Alliance was exceptional too still individual squad turn based, and lots of details and upgrade weaponry etc. I liked them both very much, XCom of course the longer lasting re-playability but each worth owning. Also very good and I think better than JA is Silent Storm and SS2. Only thing that spoils it is the panzerklein things whatever they were called, (armoured suits-) but you can mod it out. SS2 had great bullet penetration rules, which allowed you to have fire fights inside wooden or thin walled rooms and buildings firing through walls and even floors etc, super fun. when all hell breaks loose and you can hear enemies rushing to you.
