A OBD "Bonus" I'd like to see
Polovski replied to CaptSopwith's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Lol can't be me HPW I don't tidy up like he has... -
Not heard of anyone getting charged before with OFF but I guess possible. Anyway the product is charged for at time of purchase in your local region and local VAT etc taxes applied (if applicable) so I think it may be possible to reclaim anything if that happened. For example anyone in the European Union gets charged Euro VAT rate. Best to speak with Avangate who are the distributors with any questions as they handle that side of things for us.

Thanks Dave we appreciate your support a lot. We are working round the clock at the moment but pop in to post here too of course. UK_W totally understand no problem. As to the beer tab it's always open in this officers mess! whiteknight06604 there was nothing shady in us moving at all from anyone.
-
Thanks Guys. We explained why we moved, and even Alex (MK2) who originally, as the owner CA, invited us to CA kindly commented that he totally understood the decision to move, and also posted about SimHQ being a good place to be. Some comments http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3575057/3.html (MK2 is 5th & 8th posts). One thing whiteknight06604 I must comment on. Integrity is very important to us, and there were NO "shady" reasons AT ALL to move.

Looks pretty good - as long as it's very comfortable worth considering. Let us know Sid if you try it :)

Strange one Jim, we use skype no problem all the time and TIR works fine in OFF. PC's for ya.. Make sure you use latest TrackiR software and update game support and skype latest maybe.

Who's the Aussie that got von Richtofen?
Polovski replied to Hauksbee's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Great info JFM always. Riflemen having a pop? I would. If a fancy triplane heads my way and I spent months in mud holes I'm having a pop don't care what the chances are - I'd probably throw my last tin of beef at him. With all the other partial facts yes it is doubtful if Brown fired the major hit but nevertheless not impossible and so cannot be ruled out, maybe he wounded him before. Also as bullets can deflect we will never truly know anyway there are plenty of angled metal parts in the DR1. So no one firing at him can be ruled out really. MvR could easily have done a split second partial flat turn right to avoid fire, or maybe with left wing down to look down - revealing the underarm and angle. This would not just be for Brown but for other rifle shots. Wasn't he wounded more than once, and was not subject to a full post mortem? If so maybe it could be considered a shared kill. -
You need to run cfsconfig and set aircraft sliders to 5 firstly, also go to workshop in OFF Manager there is an option there for high res skins. Note you will not see bullet hits with high res.
-
If you did not run OFF when you had only 1 or two monitors attached for this install, then maybe try turning off a monitor, running OFF, seeing if the manager looks OK then exit, then setup the 3 monitors and run again. If you are using 3rd party setup there may be options and settings to exclude offmanager.exe or assign to 1 monitor whatever, Also with 1 monitor on, maybe go into workshop settings and change the OFFmanager to use other propertion/widescreen or other setting there. Just because vanilla cfs3.exe ran, it has nothing to do with how "OFFmanager.exe" will appear. It just means that when you finally launch a mission from OFFmanager that the runtime using cfs3.exe should work.

There is no 100% proof just good theories, and so we cannot totally rule out anything. I still think MvR could have rolled /banked at some point and been hit from anywhere including Brown. He could have been shot a few minutes earlier and managed to carry on with his willpower - very strong guy mentally obviously. Even something like 35-40 degrees bank or combined with slight dive angle whatever would give the rear under arm exposed. He could even have been leaning forward or trying to unjam a gun. Everyone always assumes he was perfectly horizontal all the time. Maybe the bullet dropped as Jarhead says. Maybe brown fired from great distance out of frustration and it got help from a ricochet. Maybe off Popkin's bullet ;) Also he was hit by a "lucky" long range shot previously in the head by one of those 2 seaters he loved to shoot down. -
You can't Jim - serious hacking needed and I wont explain that one ;) I think one or two people may have done so but if it breaks er..

Not sure Aroth not been reported before as far as I know. You can always try delete all pilots from workshop, and make a fresh one and see. Also make sure you have updated to the latest patches (see FAQ for help on that).

Disappearing prop disc and time compression frustration
Polovski replied to redpiano's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I think this thread has run it's course. Been discussed many times. Props have been in the FAQ for some time under KNOWN ISSUES COMMON TO BH&H and HITR: .... b) Blurred Propellers do not show from Virtual Cockpit (VC) or may flicker when viewed at an angle– currently not fixable due to shorter distance for eye point to propeller in WW1 craft. " The VC is a special area that is not the same visual space as the Lod100 model. Sometimes some items encroach in a way that makes them vanish. Not all objects do but some do. Props for example do. Shorter noses on WW1 craft than WW2 don't help. Rockets in some instances, we may be able to fix we shall see. Props one day maybe. We have improved lots, and will keep doing and improving/fixing/adding, given infinite years and support from people buying OFF. -
Disappearing prop disc and time compression frustration
Polovski replied to redpiano's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Speed up time: Ctrl + Shift + E Slow down time: Ctrl + Shift + R Works fine normally. To void any issues best not to warp or time compress for long periods anyway - you are basically running much of the sim at high speed loading in more data and crunching numbers = more work for the cpu/memory . But a correction - these will NOT drop you back to normal speed if you are near an airborne enemy. You will die quickly :) Also unless you enable auto pilot first, you have to fly too. Quite good on 4X when you are high enough to turn it off quickly. Note do NOT remap these keys to something else it will likely stop it working for good. So take it easy maybe 16x when you are high and sure you are clear otherwise drop to 4X or 2X so you can stay in control. Yes some textures especially huge clouds will flicker sometimes not much you can do it's when they are just in or out of view at odd angles. TrackiR likely makes it worse. Props known issue was not fixable in P3 and in OFF2 we have looked at briefly but not found a better way. If there is time maybe we can look again but there is always so much to do, so "maybe" is all we can say at this stage. Warp is fine but again use it in shorter bursts is best. Sometimes you can avoid more enemies that way too. Check you have not remapped something else to the waypoint next/prev keys too. Also on some patrol/cap type missions you must loiter between two points several times so warp will send you back of course. -
Shadows of Chernobyl, modded was very good I thought - bit like a rougher grittier Fallout. Spoiler alert Olham :) Yes don't talk about the thing in the sewers!

Nice to have a decent documentary / interview (without the usual dumbing down now) - charming fellow too, good old fashioned English gent with wit and still sharp at 96 amazing.

Best thing to do is note the date, as at the default settings you often do 2-3 missions a day so "world time" is moving slowly although your missions are racking up ;) Or you can reduce campaign mission frequency in workshop. It can take several days or sometimes weeks for the results to come in. You could in workshop set auto/manual time advance this gives you a button to click to move the campaign on a day at a time (missing on current missions of course) but you can use it to test or simulate going on leave etc. There's a section on better claims and this http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm 1.2) Game Play Hints ... 4) Claims for kills

How does the pilot look around during flight?
Polovski replied to oswaldboelke's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
I'd say TrackIR is as important as a good joystick (say compared to using the keyboard). A revelation and you will never want to fly aain without it. . Also the free head track alternatives are worth a try if you cannot afford trackiR. FaceTrackNoIR is a good one uses a web camera if you have one. OFF support in there and instructions their website. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm See there for info and what you will need for OFF -
Waco best post in the main forum, some users have setup 3 monitors etc and may be able to help more. Also make sure you are fully patched up with OFF we did a few enhancements along the way to do with 3 monitors.

Great glad I was of help twice :) happy flying Tuba2
-
No worries Jamie - sounded a bit odd :) but glad you found it. There is usually a button to submit claims but maybe it is off your screen somewhere ? send a screenshot next time maybe (print screen then later when outside OFF go to MS pain of similar and press Ctrl+V to paste it and save as Jpeg. Also check your DPI settings (this is in the FAQ) search for DPI (ctrl+f when viewing the page) http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm Q23 / A23 is similar fix/issue if that is the case.
