Disappearing prop disc and time compression frustration
Polovski replied to redpiano's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Speed up time: Ctrl + Shift + E Slow down time: Ctrl + Shift + R Works fine normally. To void any issues best not to warp or time compress for long periods anyway - you are basically running much of the sim at high speed loading in more data and crunching numbers = more work for the cpu/memory . But a correction - these will NOT drop you back to normal speed if you are near an airborne enemy. You will die quickly :) Also unless you enable auto pilot first, you have to fly too. Quite good on 4X when you are high enough to turn it off quickly. Note do NOT remap these keys to something else it will likely stop it working for good. So take it easy maybe 16x when you are high and sure you are clear otherwise drop to 4X or 2X so you can stay in control. Yes some textures especially huge clouds will flicker sometimes not much you can do it's when they are just in or out of view at odd angles. TrackiR likely makes it worse. Props known issue was not fixable in P3 and in OFF2 we have looked at briefly but not found a better way. If there is time maybe we can look again but there is always so much to do, so "maybe" is all we can say at this stage. Warp is fine but again use it in shorter bursts is best. Sometimes you can avoid more enemies that way too. Check you have not remapped something else to the waypoint next/prev keys too. Also on some patrol/cap type missions you must loiter between two points several times so warp will send you back of course. -
Shadows of Chernobyl, modded was very good I thought - bit like a rougher grittier Fallout. Spoiler alert Olham :) Yes don't talk about the thing in the sewers!

Nice to have a decent documentary / interview (without the usual dumbing down now) - charming fellow too, good old fashioned English gent with wit and still sharp at 96 amazing.

Some more - Dogfighting over the lines -
Best thing to do is note the date, as at the default settings you often do 2-3 missions a day so "world time" is moving slowly although your missions are racking up ;) Or you can reduce campaign mission frequency in workshop. It can take several days or sometimes weeks for the results to come in. You could in workshop set auto/manual time advance this gives you a button to click to move the campaign on a day at a time (missing on current missions of course) but you can use it to test or simulate going on leave etc. There's a section on better claims and this http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm 1.2) Game Play Hints ... 4) Claims for kills

How does the pilot look around during flight?
Polovski replied to oswaldboelke's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
I'd say TrackIR is as important as a good joystick (say compared to using the keyboard). A revelation and you will never want to fly aain without it. . Also the free head track alternatives are worth a try if you cannot afford trackiR. FaceTrackNoIR is a good one uses a web camera if you have one. OFF support in there and instructions their website. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm See there for info and what you will need for OFF -
Waco best post in the main forum, some users have setup 3 monitors etc and may be able to help more. Also make sure you are fully patched up with OFF we did a few enhancements along the way to do with 3 monitors.

Great glad I was of help twice :) happy flying Tuba2

No worries Jamie - sounded a bit odd :) but glad you found it. There is usually a button to submit claims but maybe it is off your screen somewhere ? send a screenshot next time maybe (print screen then later when outside OFF go to MS pain of similar and press Ctrl+V to paste it and save as Jpeg. Also check your DPI settings (this is in the FAQ) search for DPI (ctrl+f when viewing the page) http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm Q23 / A23 is similar fix/issue if that is the case.

Hi akulawien, 1. not via normal methods no, currently BH&H you would have to edit pilot files - someone who has done it will have to help if you go that route as (and obviously we won't "support it" if it goes wrong). You would othewise have to create a new pilot in the new squadron and date. OFF2 maybe different.. 2. Yes there was a tutorial for this somewhere. Also if you click the Help in the pilot dossier screen I believe it mentions doing this too - I cannot check as I have OFF2 dev setup. "Golden Eagle" here he has done both ... http://combatace.com/topic/69231-campaign-treating-a-fighter-squadron-as-a-bomber-one/page__p__545573__hl__editing+pilot+dossier__fromsearch__1#entry545573 maybe he can help ?

Some interpretations say the "prediction" is of great change, not necessarily bad or "end of the world" but end of an era. Let's hope OFF is ready before and can be the start of a new era ;) -

Lol well thanks guys we know you are keen and we are working flat out to get it to you. It's possible we'll be starving before we release it though ;) -
Hi W1ndy the in depth features of HITR are here; It adds more than just new aircraft and squads: http://www.overflandersfields.com/Addon1.htm scroll down a bit below the New Aircraft section for features. Also the updates to HITR added more See here each release patch info is presented the http://www.overflandersfields.com/Downloads**tR.htm [edit]Wow just realised the anti swearing code on the forum edits the URL to remove the "hi" - well go to the website anyway and find it on the downloads page ... Also note Wings Over Flanders Fields also will have substantial improvements in the campaign. We will reveal more when ready.

Correct Skin or Correct Label?
Polovski replied to Shiloh's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The defaults are used from each aircraft's folder for example Alb DIII (1 craft type) has several models, each with a default_t.dds and an already assigned ..._t.dds In that example here is one of the Ace craft's texture folder for Alb_DIII ; C:\OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\Aircraft\Alb_DIII_AC5\textures skins in use last are here, plus default_t which is used if the squadron skin not available. Can't really go into more detail, you'd probably need a re-install to get all skins back and in correct default places if they are wrong. -
Correct :) as Douglas Adams said, "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so." I think dev time is exponentially so.

Welcome akulawien, Hellshade has made some super vids which we thank him for and glad it tweaked your interest. @Hellshade no problem as soon as we are able to get a coherent package we are happy for you to fly we'll let you lose on it for vids :) Taking a lot longer than we planned to get there, but getting closer each day.

Correct Skin or Correct Label?
Polovski replied to Shiloh's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It could happen sometimes see above comments. Also check the default_t.dds in EACH aircraft folder of a type. There are several models for Aces called ...._ACx, and Squads - SQx. Check the defaults in each - they are normally factory defaults for those times when we have no skin. But maybe some have been replaced. Also as above, if way too many craft of a type are in the air and lots of squadrons it can possibly happen. -

Hi simmelman, OK thanks for coming back. I had to approve your post as they are the first ones you made. It sounded like you were posting "a fact" rather than asking "does it work Ok with windows 7?" A first post would usually be "hey I'm thinking of getting this, but I heared xyz is it so? Don't forget we see what support emails we get and note what is happening and from the mails that come in, and the vast majority are not Windows 7 issues. Any we have had specifically with Windows 7 we have got running almost every one in the last few years. Mostly with what is written in the FAQ - which obviously has come from experience. PC's have a billion available combinations of components, settings, drivers, software running, and users, let alone broken files, registry settings and errors, hard drive errors etc. Almost impossible to 100% guarantee a huge undertaking will work flawlessly for every one - but we try. The large proportion of users running Windows 7 with OFF are running fine. Like any software ever made for PC, someone somewhere will have a problem. Any issues we are aware of are in the FAQ. Also sometimes people forget to update the software to the latest verison etc. Anyway OFF works with Windows 7 -it is a fact. The dev team develop with Windows 7. BTW here is an example http://combatace.com/topic/71993-windows-7-offman-fatal-error/ sounds like a Windows 7 OFF issue eh? Well it's not. Read and see. Unfortunately users of forums have the habit of firing the first thing that seems to fit the issue, the facts are often far from it. -
Windows 7 OFFMan fatal error

Use Eset NOD anti-virus myself and it's worked flawlessly for years. Hopefully Bifdefender will update the issue. -

Polovski replied to simmelman's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
OFF works fine with Windows 7 - we are the developers and most of the Dev team run Windows 7 64 bit too, as do most users. CFS3 itself is older but still works. There is no "maybe". Yes you have to change a couple of settings as you do with many programs but if you personally have an issue with it running check the FAQ carefully - it's not tricky. Contact support if you cannot. Very odd first ever post in a forum, off topic completely too in a thread of new screenshots.
