The ARE fitted to the standard SE5a as I explained. Only the Viper doesn't have it, and I think I explained why. As Shred who is our historical expert explained they were sometimes removed, so this one has it removed. In OFF we not only like to have factory craft but sometimes reflect what was actually used by some pilots as that's what we are trying to simulate. Also it gives other people who prefer NOT to have it the chance to fly without, just like you would like to fly with. Fly the SE5a as that's what most people would have been doing and you will have an Aldis.

BTW the pilots have the German hard hat type looks a bit silly but I think in a crash you'd rather look silly than splattered.

Actually it is fitted to the most common SE5a in Phase 3. It is not fitted to the Viper in P3, because we chose to do that - as Ted says it was sometimes removed and as it mostly gets in the way, and we have two types Viper, and Se5a we chose to have it not on one then it also helps give a different experience apart from bigger engine. It doesn't work as well as real one so not as useful and gets in the way instead but still fun enough to have on one of the variants. In P4 it's improved a little and also only on the SE5a (then those that don't like it can fly Viper or earlier SE5).

It's a generator Olham. The pits tend to vary a lot. This has a radio set in the rear and a winch for the aerial.

The number of flights varies tremendously over the time periods and areas. Also if you turn all aids off and don't warp or use labels etc you will probably miss flights passing - as it was you will pass many by without noticing each other ;) so it will seem more realistic number wise. OK good luck with the OS reinstall sceptre. Could even be something interfering like virus etc so a good idea to clean out every so often.

Good post Olham, immersion is where we are at :) Capt; if you have a webcam did you not try FacetrackNoIR? Don't want to veer the topic but just an idea if you are short of cash, get a cheap camera they recommend, then use that.

Streakeagle is right, I wish this was talked about more on TV programs too as the general mass of Web users are years behind in understanding. One AV program is not enough these days. You should install Spybot, run malwarebytes, maybe get a trojan detector like RegRun, UnHackme, or Trojan Remover too - as many as you can cope with to check your system several ways, especially when things like this happen. There are root kit viruses too (great that Windows allows programs that run in hidden streams erk...). Also get a decent firewall that prompts you more than the MS bult in one. There are plenty of free AV killers, malware scanners, and online scanners by reputable companies (always research well before using one that you come across).

The CPU speed may need a boost some simple light overclocking might be worth it. But OFF looks very good even on mid settings (we made it so). When you get OFF try all graphic setting sliders on 5, but terrain and scenery on 3,3 initially and see how you go.

There was a DVD version RE-released by UBISoft. Seems tricky to find now. It's called "Exclusive" brand.

The discount for buying P3 is already built in now as we lowered the price recently ;) . As per the website front page posted a little while back: "We appreciate some people may be waiting for Phase 4 (which is still some time off ) but to allow those people to experience "OFF" now, rather than offer a future upgrade discount we have decided instead to lower the price of both BH&H AND HITR expansion too now - enjoy!" It's very cheap to own OFF with lots of flyable aircraft included including 2 seaters. We are poor developers so no there is no further discounts ! :) 1.Yes in P3 and much more so in OFF2 :) 2. Yes very likely proved the costs are reasonable for us, we make little as it is. 3. Already great in P3 but P4/OFF2 hugely improved :). Many people in the OFF team worked on some of the finest Red Baron mods and have many ideas so OFF2 will be even better. 4.Well we have had great comments from real pilots over the years -some who flew in biplanes too. We also feel we have a good realistic balance between craft and they fit historically with each other, with the balance of power swinging as new craft become available to fit in well with their WW1 historical place. 5.The scenery Winder has made is some of (if not "the") finest around even compared to many modern sims. It's massively improved over the old CFS3 type. Look at some of the pics on the website. (It's much better in OFF2 too, even improved more since the last screenshots we released :)).

With respect we are a very very small team compared to others, (did we ever mention that?) and any spare time is full time developing leaving a little time to manage forums so yes sometimes things happen. It is now closed anyway. It's par for the course in many forums. Anyway as always we say enjoy all sims, they are a rare breed.

Good stuff, one thing my profile I guess wouldn't work as you had the old software. I didn't realise you were on v4 software still.

Firstly the unit should be about 3 inches (7-8cm) to the left of the monitor center - not so far left as you have it. Get someone's trackIR profile for OFF and try that I'd suggest as a starting point. Very steep curves in the profiles like you have will have massive acceleration changes and can go bananas easily. Also move the end points out and flatten the whole thing. Try mine if you like. Try making sure there's no bright lights behind you too. Check the dots in the view and not vanishing as you turn your head, if so it will confuse it. If you have an older unit maybe you need to move it back some, that alwas helped in the past for me. Plug into a different USB port too may help (preferably a master USB port - some do not provide proper power etc). Other than that maybe roll has a bananas curve on it. Pol OFF TrackIR Profile2.rar

Was very good in itself (not comparing to the novel) both the hope and despair came through. It came across as a high quality well crafted piece of work with some beautiful camera work and scenes, with seemingly realistic trench views. The very expansive view at one point showing the flattened NML landscape with the main character in the middle for example. Overall very good, I haven't read the novel so can't comment on that part.

The difference is marked? OFF scenery without DX10 is still better than most sims out there for example but yes there are things we would like to implement in future, but as always it's dependent on the support we get. Maybe something we can do in the future we shall see.

Well that's why I said check the event viewer error messages, but probably too late now. Other than what has been said, hard to say what files or issues could have been wrong. Restoring to a previous state also as WM says removed the swap file or other possible problem files, hard to say now, but a drive getting full isn't good and it's possible you STILL have drive issues so do a check disk from the Tools option (right click on the drive in My Computer, Properties, Tools, Check now).

OK great probably lost some important system files or something. Best check the drives for any errors.

Check out the administrator tools, event viewer more there may be clues there? See what other issues show? Did you check it is still setup to run in Admin mode etc as per Win7 tips in FAQ?
