No idea, what changed Hauksbee ? Sounds like a permissions issue (win7?) There are a zillion google hits for that VB error. Do you have an edited pilot, is the log huge or something? Much more details needed really -what where why when.

"Nod" made one but it was not released and we had no way to fit it in at the time, as Shred says no one really flew it in anger during WW1. It's now dated and would need serious cockpit work etc. but it is a great craft. As Shred says we have to do other more well known important craft first. We did do the Snipe for UK_W as he had been very patient (3-4 years? of nagging ;) ). We can see later though would be nice ;)

We are fully aware of what is needed, and know Derek and PC Pilot well. Our small team is around a 3rd of the size of most other "small teams" and we are also mostly part-time. We don't have any dedicated PR. Unfortunately first we need to concentrate our efforts to make it (to a certain point) before we can release more details for articles, then we will turn to getting it out there best we can and spread the word. But anything you guys can do to help is appreciated - some have you have helped already.

Windows 7 professional 64 compatability
Polovski replied to Tuba2's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Jim you need to install DirectX9 full download (not the little web installer but the full downloaded file) on Windows 7. DX9 compatibility in Win7 is lacking a few dlls. OFF works fine on Win7 64 bit and 32 (the most of dev team have Win7 64 anyway so if it didn't we'd know ;) plus many users of OFF using it fine). It's in the FAQ in places discussing Windows 7, but: "In Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit) you may find the need to install DirectX 9 too. Some other games and programs require this too, even though DX11 is meant to be DX9 compatible they still require DX9 installed. It can co-exist along side DX11 no problem. " -

Oh dear sounds like another feature request Rex <sound of single pistol shot> -
The Biff is one of my favourites (the model and its FM/DM is down to me) and it's model is improved some more for OFF2 too. OvS has tweaked the skins more too so all good.

Sopwith Pups have no propellors with the AI Weight Mod
Polovski replied to Rugbyfan1972's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Just for some perspective the AI in most situations are pretty good in HITR and don't forget there are two AI settings. Aggressive may give better results. All AI can take off in BH&H or HITR normally fine and are not normally "lemmings". But of course in odd mountainous areas in certain situations odd things can happen (it's a computer piloting in a million situations/craft etc). Given AI is rather tricky to program if you have issues try setting the AI to aggressive mode - the less aggressive has different behaviours. (OFF2 has new AI, and it really is an EPIC amount of work for RexH to make new AI). -
Welcome Doc Did you setup the graphics settings? See the FAQ for step by step setup. Also make sure you installed 1.32 patch and then the mini patch 1.32g http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm see the top area "1) Hints and Tips 1.1) Installation Settings and Graphics" for install and graphic config steps. Also there are many hints and tips linked in the sticky posts in General Forum. http://combatace.com/topic/44940-off-general-help-topics/ http://combatace.com/forum/204-off-general-discussion/

OFF + HITR just arrvied, enjoying first steps
Polovski replied to ataribaby's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The sim will end normally when you are dead or the craft is totalled. You have options in the workshop that will sometimes let you survive (as CFS3 would in reality make you dead always at that point). You can set dead is dead if you prefer (there's a whole forum section on that how to play that better). The FAQ has all I'll say on filling claims, there have been many discussions here about it so have a search or ask the guys. In the current version of OFF you can only claim for balloons that are your mission assignment on balloon busting. Others will go down as ground kills due to how CFS3 does outcomes. Next release of OFF that will change anyway. Easy claims means you don't fill anything in also promotions are easier. If you hover the mouse it explains most. I'm sure the guys here can help with the rest. See the sticky topic at the top of the forum here. "OFF General Help Topics & HITR Known issues - Includes Uncleal's Tips ! " with links to tips many subjects are covered. -
OFF + HITR just arrvied, enjoying first steps
Polovski replied to ataribaby's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Welcome ataribaby glad you are enjoying OFF and WW1. One thing check the FAQ for how to exit the mission correctly. CFS3 lets you exit in many ways but you should always "End Mission" to make sure the manager can track the main events properly. Question 31 http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#A31 -
How does the pilot look around during flight?
Polovski replied to oswaldboelke's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
shift+numpad keys also has look around keys, see the keyboard chart included in CFS3 or linked to a great one made by "Homeboy": in the FAQ You can also press scroll look once then you can pan with joystick POV/HAT or leave scroll lock off and it snaps the view. http://snomhf.exofire.net/data/OFFcmdkeysNoCFS.png -
Advise the newbie: I'm trying to learn how to fire te MG.
Polovski replied to sparrowhawkms's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Post the query re text size in the General forum sparrowhawkms. You can adjust various things in viewui.xml as I said in PM but post to there for more help - I can't help more as it is basically modding. You need to fly slower maybe on your pass stay a little higher initially and dip to shoot them immediately pull up gain a bit more height then try again. Practice is all you can do. You could also shoot balloons along the front or near airfields. -
Make sure you install all the updates. AI is variable per craft, per squadron quality. A Poor squadron raring is because it's full of poor or novice fliers. Make sure you fly via OFF Manager and not directly run CFS3.exe or AI will perform worse. If you have HITR try the alternative AI settings. The current release of OFF has many excellent areas and good AI generally, but choose an elite squadron if you want super fliers - not a poor one. The next version of OFF will also be tremendously improved in many areas including many mentioned.

How do I NAVIGATE <SE5a Hispano-Suiza? >
Polovski replied to sparrowhawkms's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
The dials themselves should not be blurred, make sure you setup your Graphics Settings properly too. Do you mean the ones that show with F5 or the ones in the cockpit? All craft have varying instruments, some hardly any but F5 will bring up the basics if you feel better. Sme early craft especially are very sparse. Looking around with TrackIR or cycle F6 keys will sometimes show other instruments (compass on floor, wing etc). How high am I? Look down How fast am I going? Look down ;) -
newbie asks strange circle on screen; where is INFO ?
Polovski replied to sparrowhawkms's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
It's actually more of an pilot awareness radar i.e. it shows craft the pilot is likely to be aware of but not necessarily all. Looking around helps find other craft sometimes. -
Run CFS3Config and set up your graphics sliders. See FAQ. http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings'>http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings Try setting slider of terrain and scenery 1 or 2 less each initially to test. If that doesn't work : CFS3 dropping back to the OFF Manager is due to memory glitch or CPU overheat usually. Knocking your terrain and scenery slider back may help OR see http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm this has troubleshooting tips (Q.25 especially).

Issues With Setting Up in Windows 7
Polovski replied to dixieflyer's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
It could also be a new DVD reader with a problem reading the disk. Try copying all files off the DVD - if it has errors even doing that maybe it needs cleaning ore maybe the DVD reader doesn't like it, or maybe the disk is now scratched etc. Also if you are overclocking then it could be by too much for your CPU /cooling so it corrupts as it unpacks (the data is very compressed and will use the CPU a lot during decompressiob). -
Cowboy make sure you updated to the latest superpatch 1.32 first and then 1.32g that should stop corruption. We tested on Matrox TripleHead and that worked. Also you need to setup the in-sim resolution too by running the graphics setup (See FAQ near the top). http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings

Rather a generalisation of the AI there, different craft and AI settings will produce other results. Other craft will allow the AI to behave differently EIII and N11 are probably the hardest for the AI to fly in BH&H and HITR. WW1 did often go down in height quickly as often craft would dive to escape with craft following etc and they didn't have a lot of power for vertical WW2 style fighting. Try later craft with more power you will find different situations.

It's quicker for you to look than me to check the data but anyway I just opened my folder as described above and they are .BMP. 122x137 but they vary slightly. It will only take you seconds to look so have a go. Look in the folder and open one of the pics into a paint package and have a look, then resize yours and paste into it then save (after backing up current ones of course)/ Yes and gets zits from shaving with a blunt razor and sunburnt from exposure. No only kiddin ;).
-
Yes see above posts 2 and 3. All you need is with your new picture make it the same resolution/size and format as the current ones in there, and give it the same name as the one used by your pilot. Backup the files in there somewhere safe first.

Look through the FAQ Keychart is near the top of the page for a start. Shift+t = target awareness radar
