Welcome ataribaby glad you are enjoying OFF and WW1. One thing check the FAQ for how to exit the mission correctly. shift+numpad keys also has look around keys, see the keyboard chart included in CFS3 or linked to a great one made by "Homeboy": in the FAQ You can also press scroll look once then you can pan with joystick POV/HAT or leave scroll lock off and it snaps the view. http://snomhf.exofire.net/data/OFFcmdkeysNoCFS.png -

Post the query re text size in the General forum sparrowhawkms. You can adjust various things in viewui.xml as I said in PM but post to there for more help - I can't help more as it is basically modding. You need to fly slower maybe on your pass stay a little higher initially and dip to shoot them immediately pull up gain a bit more height then try again. Practice is all you can do. You could also shoot balloons along the front or near airfields. -
Make sure you install all the updates. AI is variable per craft, per squadron quality. A Poor squadron raring is because it's full of poor or novice fliers. Make sure you fly via OFF Manager and not directly run CFS3.exe or AI will perform worse. If you have HITR try the alternative AI settings. The current release of OFF has many excellent areas and good AI generally, but choose an elite squadron if you want super fliers - not a poor one. The next version of OFF will also be tremendously improved in many areas including many mentioned.

The dials themselves should not be blurred, make sure you setup your Graphics Settings properly too. Do you mean the ones that show with F5 or the ones in the cockpit? All craft have varying instruments, some hardly any but F5 will bring up the basics if you feel better. Sme early craft especially are very sparse. Looking around with TrackIR or cycle F6 keys will sometimes show other instruments (compass on floor, wing etc). How high am I? Look down How fast am I going? Look down ;) -

It's actually more of an pilot awareness radar i.e. it shows craft the pilot is likely to be aware of but not necessarily all. Looking around helps find other craft sometimes. -

If that doesn't work : CFS3 dropping back to the OFF Manager is due to memory glitch or CPU overheat usually. It could also be a new DVD reader with a problem reading the disk. Try copying all files off the DVD - if it has errors even doing that maybe it needs cleaning ore maybe the DVD reader doesn't like it, or maybe the disk is now scratched etc. Also if you are overclocking then it could be by too much for your CPU /cooling so it corrupts as it unpacks (the data is very compressed and will use the CPU a lot during decompressiob). -
Cowboy make sure you updated to the latest superpatch 1.32 first and then 1.32g that should stop corruption. We tested on Matrox TripleHead and that worked. Also you need to setup the in-sim resolution too by running the graphics setup (See FAQ near the top). http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Installation_and_settings

Rather a generalisation of the AI there, different craft and AI settings will produce other results. Other craft will allow the AI to behave differently EIII and N11 are probably the hardest for the AI to fly in BH&H and HITR. WW1 did often go down in height quickly as often craft would dive to escape with craft following etc and they didn't have a lot of power for vertical WW2 style fighting. Try later craft with more power you will find different situations.

It's quicker for you to look than me to check the data but anyway I just opened my folder as described above and they are .BMP. 122x137 but they vary slightly. It will only take you seconds to look so have a go. Look in the folder and open one of the pics into a paint package and have a look, then resize yours and paste into it then save (after backing up current ones of course)/ Yes and gets zits from shaving with a blunt razor and sunburnt from exposure. No only kiddin ;).

Yes see above posts 2 and 3. All you need is with your new picture make it the same resolution/size and format as the current ones in there, and give it the same name as the one used by your pilot. Backup the files in there somewhere safe first.

Lol thanks Olham. Re TrackIR - I have TIR4 and the trackir clip pro which is on the left of my headset. The TIR4 unit is 115mm to my left on the top of the monitor pointing at my left ear :). Mike you can see smoke of varying degrees and depending on throttle mixture etc, (and rotary engines obviously more visible than inline normally) Anyway as we said the effects in the movie are mostly P3 still - we haven't redone them yet so it may well change anyway. Also remember these are war-weary engines (not pristine modern replica very well looked after engines). See one example of the camel at say 4 min 40 seconds onwards for the rotary (modern well maintained not in a war ;) of course).

Tip - those 1000s of hours testing in sim are because you need to test actual climb rates etc etc in sim, not what Airwrench will report. -

It took several 1000 flight tests to get player flight feel for every craft, AI flight, AI takes offs, autopilot, with and without loads, etc all working well. Crazy amount of time that took - all I can say is good luck! -

We had a nangy old cat - you could stroke his head 3 times (3 movements of the hand) and he would enjoy it and purr. Then after the 3rd he would stop purring and look at you directly. If you continued and did a 4th stroke he would scratch your hand and hiss. One weird cat. As far as I can tell most cats are generally selfish - take away the food or warm fire and they'd be off like a shot. Still each to their own :)

You need to setup OFFManager.exe to run on 1 screen I imagine in ATI driver settings. Are there no options to do that? None of the dev team have this setup so no idea. And yes wow OLD thread ;) Make sure you are fully up-to-date with OFF patches as some may help with wide screen 16:10 etc in Workshop settings. Some forums you will have little answer for example asking in Knowledge base will probably get no response as it's for storing knowledge not asking. OFF General Help or here is the best place to find people reading and replying. -

Thanks Olham I'm not commenting on the thread except to just correct a feature mentioned; OFF currently can have 226 aircraft in the air at once all doing their own missions, which is easily scalable and expandable. Also guys want to say stay civil don't get into a this sim versus that sim argument please, all have their merits, and it's a very hard job to make a good one for sure with little reward.
