2 Monitors are excellent for working on. One can have say a reference image or data, or web browser open whatever, the other you can be running your main application like Max or Excel or whatever. i.e. great for productivity. If you do a lot of none game stuff it's brilliant (bit like TrackIR or other tracking software is to Flight siming once you have 2 you don't want to go back to 1). Even gaming you can have say a detailed map open on the 2nd screen whilst you fly or whatever.

Make sure you are launching via the OFF Manager too.

P4 - most desirable improvements

Thanks Hellshade back to work :) -
No HITR does not add more Mission building and we don't provide specific support for MB, however yes you can create missions with the MB. Given the OFF Manager generates unique campaign missions every time, there is not a massive call for it. However there is info on the MB in around in other sub forums and threads I think, best to ask someone who made some. To load up missions you have to save into the correct folder for example in OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\missions\scenarios\Britain etc. (Per your pilot nation). Also you have to set the correct front lines etc by the date in the mission. All this is mentioned in More Help button in the Quick scenarios and also there is a "MissionBuilders Readme.txt" file in the Missions folder if you look too for some hints on making missions using the Mission builder and making them compatible to OFF. As Hellshade said he's flying a standard campaign mission, not one he made. If yours don't seem to be working then hence my question. I asked because you said something like this before and mentioned running CFS3 exe directly or something before.

Hi Lederhosen something is screwed there, do you have an English OS? If not have you set it up as per the FAQ? Have you installed all the updates for OFF (which version do you have?) ?

P4 - most desirable improvements
Polovski replied to 33LIMA's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
AI isn't dumb on aggressive mode it's pretty good especially vet/ace but I doubt many AI in sims out there, flying with all the same FM rules etc is as good as human with 1000s of hours sim flying. As I said above, everyone has pet hates, concerns etc, I'm going to stop answering every query (reasons in my above post). Guys please wait for feature list. Also it's takes a lot of our time answering individual requirements and not working on P4. Yes Lewis was used for various good reasons, one is it isn't slowed by a prop in the way and can fire full rate. -
P4 - most desirable improvements
Polovski replied to 33LIMA's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Wo steady on, one issue does not crash and burn a whole sim wow. There's a whole lot more than that. However to KILL this one Yes one new feature in P4 we added that has not been mentioned yet is AI using weight. (This is not a "fix" by the way as it was not broken, just the way it was in CFS3). Answered like this the features list comes out in tiny dribs and drabs and gets lost in all the negative stuff anyway - until a features list is published could you hold on please and all will be revealed. Phase 4 will be a whole different ball game. It is already designed and well along development and seriously different in many areas. We are well aware of what is needed or can or cannot be done at this stage so just hang in there please. -
Lewie are you actually launching the OFF Manager and going into "Campaign" ? Something doesn't sound right there. If you haven't flown campaign you are missing out on a huge part of OFF?

Lol Parky ;). I do keep buying ATI then coming back to NVidia. Yeah given I had a lot of pain with ATI in my earlier working life, in theory I should have never have gone near one for my own machine with a 7-foot barge pole, but have bought several since. The competition is good for us users although the constant one-upmanship with top end video card releases and increasing prices had to slow down at some point. But yeah wonder if any of those old driver programmers are still there at ATI. I think some of the fantastic 3DFX Voodoo team moved to them so that's likely why they improved some.

P4 - most desirable improvements
Polovski replied to 33LIMA's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Wow quite a list, P4 is well along development and of course many of those things are addressed directly or indirectly anyway but as we haven't released full features yet I think it's best we don't comment on all those individually for now. -
Welcome back - make sure you patch BH&H fully as Olham says, then install HITR and its patch. Then the same excellent AI from BH&H will be available plus other options in Workshop for less aggressive, or a combination of both (random) see the release notes on the download page. Landing is as Olham describes it in Phase 3.

Fanboi? Wow sorry it rattled your cage. I'm not trying to have a p****** contest. I too have been using ATI for a very long time, and used most of those you list too. Even used Voodoo card first real 3D accelerator that came before NVidia or ATI's. Have used and bought/supported many ATI, Nvidia cards over the years. As I said I installed ATI cards as part of my job day in day out for several years but hey ho.. Radeon 8500 was one of the first really decent 3D cards they did with decent drivers and support - I bought, then others for example Radeon 800XT 9800, etc, and later onto Radeon 4870, HD 5870.. I have gone back and forth from ATI and Nvidia for years so got the teehshirt too, but it's a fact ATI used to be shocking at drivers (when it was just 2D Windows). Sorry but you are coming across like I hurt you personally or you are flying the flag for ATI or something. Yes all companies have issues with all software, it's tricky stuff to make work on a billion variations of PC hardware and software and configurations out there.
-
For ATI driver side was always iffy for me (I go back a long way with them - used to have to install ATI cards at work and they were shockingly bad drivers then for us). The newer cards and drivers are obviously way better but still.. Is it iffy normally when running things or only on driver updates? If your power supply is borderline maybe the odd driver change is causing it to BSOD, depends on the BSOD I guess. Maybe in future you need to remove the current driver, reboot (default VGA) ignore the 'new hardware found' stuff then install new one or use one of the driver cleaners. Sorry your post originally had a "l" in it and nothing else hence my comment ;)

Yikes is that for many people or just on your PC? Did you mean to put some more comment in the post?

Polovski replied to Herr Prop-Wasche's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
"Flamers" were craft flying on for a long time in Phase 2 when on fire - we worked hard to remove in P3. If you edit effects and damage levels etc will likely bring them back unfortunately. -
never heard of OFF_Essential_MP_File-Installer.exe but probably by the MP guys if you ever flew online before maybe? Don't install I'd say unless you know what it is.

Lol Mike, well it's pending at the moment apparently someone in a Nieuport claimed it.

Just a heads up some of the pics from here, and a few new ones up on the website now.

Did you fully patch up OFF to the latest versions with the main SUPERpatch and the mini patch? http://www.overflandersfields.com/DownloadsBH&H.htm Did you follow all the information carefully in the FAQ under Vista/Windows 7 ? http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#Vista_Specific Also if CFS3 is still running from previous attempt (i.e. has not quit properly) you may get a similar error (CTRL+ALT+DEL and look in running Processes for CFS3.exe). See above for that too. You need to kill that process if so, or restart the PC. or if that fails Contact us on support with your order details and we'll try to help. See FAQ bottom for our contact.

Hi Don, It is mentioned at the top of the FAQ from the "What do I need" button "Well firstly you need a PC computer, a joystick, a DVD Drive, Windows XP (32bit), or Vista 32 or 64 bit Update: OFF works fine on Windows 7 (32bit or 64 bit) but see below under "Installation Settings and Graphics" for setup tips." I'll add it elsewhere too but the answer to your question is a definite YES. Many of the Dev team use Windows 7 64 now anyway (I have since before Phase 3).

Terrible as the crashes were it's great that you were there to record it Mike - mind you they might request you don't attend next year !

Super job Lou very funny :) Sticky space is precious but we can make it a sticky if everyone wants and ultimately Lou wants to do more. The first post would need links to each edition or something - and editing of course. -
Welcome OneoftheLost the guys have answered most of the points but some other comments: 3) See 6) but also see these primers made by some of the guys here ; http://combatace.com/forum/286-off-survival-in-the-air-series/ 4) In campaign you keep whatever craft your squad is assigned at that period historically, and depending on when you join (date) you would have it for a while until the squadron gets a new type of course (you could of course fly QC and choose whatever you like too - note the choice of craft depends on your Nationality). 5) Seems tricky to find the DVD version (which Ubisoft has no disk protection), but the CD one works OK, again see the FAQ for info on installing and using the CD or DVD. 6) See the FAQ, there are links to keyboard docs and also tells where you can find other manuals .PDFs after install. http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm.

The small wing support did not cure the wing failures, and even the DV had similar failures. It was also said to be heavier on controls (aileron cables re-routed etc) and generally a disappointment. D.Va had ribs modified and the small support and again this helped some, but did not cure the issue as the issue was not fully understood - it also added weight. The only successful fix was on the OEFFAG Albatros series.
