never heard of OFF_Essential_MP_File-Installer.exe but probably by the MP guys if you ever flew online before maybe? Don't install I'd say unless you know what it is.

Hi Don, It is mentioned at the top of the FAQ from the "What do I need" button "Well firstly you need a PC computer, a joystick, a DVD Drive, Windows XP (32bit), or Vista 32 or 64 bit Update: OFF works fine on Windows 7 (32bit or 64 bit) but see below under "Installation Settings and Graphics" for setup tips." I'll add it elsewhere too but the answer to your question is a definite YES. Many of the Dev team use Windows 7 64 now anyway (I have since before Phase 3).

Terrible as the crashes were it's great that you were there to record it Mike - mind you they might request you don't attend next year !

Welcome OneoftheLost the guys have answered most of the points but some other comments: 3) See 6) but also see these primers made by some of the guys here ; http://combatace.com/forum/286-off-survival-in-the-air-series/ 4) In campaign you keep whatever craft your squad is assigned at that period historically, and depending on when you join (date) you would have it for a while until the squadron gets a new type of course (you could of course fly QC and choose whatever you like too - note the choice of craft depends on your Nationality). 5) Seems tricky to find the DVD version (which Ubisoft has no disk protection), but the CD one works OK, again see the FAQ for info on installing and using the CD or DVD. 6) See the FAQ, there are links to keyboard docs and also tells where you can find other manuals .PDFs after install. http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm.

The small wing support did not cure the wing failures, and even the DV had similar failures. It was also said to be heavier on controls (aileron cables re-routed etc) and generally a disappointment. D.Va had ribs modified and the small support and again this helped some, but did not cure the issue as the issue was not fully understood - it also added weight. The only successful fix was on the OEFFAG Albatros series.

We are knee deep at the moment, but when it's mostly together videos will be a plenty I am sure :)

Sure who knows if we get support we can go on adding more features in a sim forever, but even what seem to be simple things can often take a tremendous amount of work (usually the simple things take the longest time ;)). Don't forget we'd like to release it some day!

I have 2 monitors and the main menu can appear on the 2nd monitor but basically OFF will usually work fine. It has not been specifically told to work that way just windows seems to push it there for some reason.

You can copy everything if you make the new drive the same letter as the old (have to change the old drive's letter first and make sure you do not need anything on there) and all the paths are then the same etc. Otherwise best to install so the registry etc i correct.

Heck of a lot of reading for SSD to get the best and each type is different with different recommendations. I have some of the OCZ Vertex and Vertex II and each of those is different. I don't have any links for the Intel stuff but have a good read up is the best thing. There are general tips like don't defrag it etc as SSDs work differently of course. The good thing is Windows 7 fully patched up is pretty aware of them now so less need for some of the tools.

Yes adblock too forgot that one. Been using it for years and never think about the obvious. It's amazing how clean some websites look when you can't see the junk. If you install Spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html don't forget to update it to the latest latest malware signatures and use the immunise option to kill another load of junk websites from working (basically updates your hosts file to redirect known iffy urls and IPs to no-where.

Install http://noscript.net/ for Firefox for a start, then you chose which scripts to allow on websites (so blocks many advertising ones). Bit annoying on some but mostly you can allow temporarily or permanently (or block of course) on favourite websites. Use Spybot and clean your system, and use a decent Anti Virus.

Thanks yes Dimus there are always going to be annoying things, even in some of the newer engines sims there are things that still really annoy people or don't look great in the scenery (I won't site examples not good form). We can't promise to make it all perfect in every single area but we have improved dramatically all along in many areas (and even now there is more we can do). But what we have done in P4 already - especially with the new AI and other features we can't talk about yet :) - it's re-invigorated us too so must be doing something good.

At the moment on our higher end PCs it seems to be 60 most of the time, (i.e. Vsync'd to 60, not sure how high it would go haven't tested with Vsync off) which is fab considering the extra detail in there, but we do have more features to add so very hard to say what it will be in the end or what difference it will be on lesser machines etc.
