Absolutely awful to see that, it does show the adage never turn back if the power fails in biplanes is true, but maybe he had no choice plus he had the wing walker so not the best chance to recover.
-
There's also Wings over France and that has a computer version too - although the graphics are awful even with a few mods - game is still addictive and has some nice authentic detail and touches in there.

Why had I never tried this before?

Rich please see the FAQ, it explains exactly how to set up the sliders. Click Installation and Graphics button and look at 1.1b) http://overflandersfields.com/FAQ -
Thanks to Richard Martin for his review on: http://www.armchairgeneral.com/over-flanders-fields-pc-game-review.htm "...one of the best flying games I have ever experienced." It is a nearly perfect re-creation of the Great War.." "..Highly recommended but be warned—it is also highly addictive!" Armchairgeneral.com 91%

OT: Something like S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Don't get me wrong UK_W I hate the 30-rounds-to-kill in BC2, (hardcore is better) I'm more a 1 round, maybe 2 if you are lucky = your out of it/dead man. Ghost Recon (the first one only!), Operation Flashpoint (1st one, 2nd one is pants), Rainbow6:Ravenshield, all great and harsh - do something stupid you are dead games. I just mean for battlefield recreation BC2 is good fun not it's "realistic" - it is certainly not realistic, and BIA definitely isn't either by a long shot, but looks good in places. Arma II really appeals as it's my kind of game, like Ghost Recon you can go where you like and attack from where you like, when you like. I bought and installed it when it came out, and it looked really awful on my good vid card for some reason, others had same issues, but may give it another go with patches. -

Wow I really hated "Brothers in Fences" as I it was known by some. I hated the trigger system which was very obvious - move 1 pixel and suddenly the next scene activates and people appear. Also trying to flank an MG, mm I know I just hop over this 2 foot fence and shoot em in the back er nope. They could at least put a crashed haycart or the usual 400 crates in the way so I know it's not possible. I know you can sort of jump some fences in the 2nd one but still hated it. I remember you could also leave your guys suppressing some enemy go answer the door, and 15 mins later come back to see the same guys shooting their 2093884 bullet at the enemy hehe. Bad Company 2 MP is much more fun blow the crapolla out of buildings, cover etc - not WW2 though. HL2 and addons are class for sure though came out years ago and still look good. -
"OFF manager.exe" disappeared
Polovski replied to Jacques-Charles's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well the clue, as Winder says, is that you also have "Avira" which as I explained also had the FALSE positive before. So contact them first and explain the situation, it looks like they have brought the error back. Try a different AV program. There are some free online scanners (example http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/) which will likely prove your Avira is wrong. -
"OFF manager.exe" disappeared
Polovski replied to Jacques-Charles's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
From the FAQ "19) Avira and AVG anti virus products can falsely detect OFF Manager as a virus. AVG has since brought an update out so make sure your AV is up to date. " Update your virus definitions they had glitches that falsely detected a virus. It could happen with some other AV I guess but most are quite happy with OFF Manager. That is the most likely. Also there is a slight possibility you have got a virus from elsewhere which has infected the exe too, so maybe update the AV, then do a full scan. If all safe then remove the file from quarantine. -
Thanks for helping Rabu and guys public opinion helps.

Yes for sure all helps Rabu

POLL - So how many kills do you get, on average
Polovski replied to a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Just remember as discussed before we have no G forces, no freezing winds in the face, no 1 real life at stake, we also do have 1000s of hours of flying practice and experience (real or sim) rather than the poor sods with 6-8 hours flying so tricky to judge kill numbers as always... -
Thanks for the laugh Rabu I got it nicely done ;)

This is going all over the place. We have always said a similar thing to Jason - there's room for more sims on people's hard drives no need to be a "super fan" of only one, that's nuts. If you can afford it buy all that try to provide what you like. We need support to carry on. Doing it because we think it's good doesn't pay for our food. For the normal dross of games I agree with Matt but for those specialised areas like ours were a few people try to make good software best they can then it's different. No sim will provide ALL things to all people, there are too many personal preferences out there so the more the merrier. It IS a smaller industry than some games with a smaller market and it costs an awful lot in developer time to make too, totally counter productive to actually making enough money to make the extraordinary effort worth it.

LOL !

Do a quick google with "change dpi settings in xp" or vista or whatever (for Vista) http://www.lawfirmsoftware.com/support/change_dpi_settings_vista.htm
-
Yep I'd say play with AA and Aniso settings, and related settings in your ATI panel. Make note or save current settings of course. Also noted smoke effects were slow on my ATI 5780 in some games with AA etc on them. Not sure that was drivers or just the way it is currently. Swapped for an NVidia 480, much happier, but not much of a chance of that in a laptop.

OFF on Mac with Windows 7?
Polovski replied to Selfpropelled's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
You need "Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3" for PC, not sure what "MSFT" is. We have never tested it on MAC so cannot say either way. Hopefully someone here has otherwise you'd be gambling a bit I guess. It runs on Windows 7 on PC, but no idea on MAC. -
I have a inkling it's a joke
-
Sounds like a screen resolution issue, check the DPI settings on your desktop and try default. See if that works.
-
Not sure re CFS3 but not for OFF though - it must be CFS3.exe. For CFS3 just try it, maybe COPY it as CFS3BLAH.exe and try running it. BTW Pat this is the wrong sub forum heading for problems, this is for known tutorials, known fixes etc. http://combatace.com/forum/209-off-bhah-general-help/ prob best or the general area - I'll move it shortly.

Microsoft Announces Flight - Can OFF use this?
Polovski replied to rabu's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
As Hellshade says, that depends on combat, no combat no good ;) -
What happened to the crash effects?
Polovski replied to Shrapnel's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Aye hard to get it right for everyone's personal preferences, so we try to do what we think is correct and best we can. Hard to have all sorts of multiple choices for absolutely everything as that then requires us to triple the work on models, effects, editing etc and we are too small a team. We already have 12 sims in one, due to the moving front so masses of work already. The guys making mods give you the choices too. We are a small team but one day maybe we can cover all the bases. Most craft hit the ground and simply crumpled. There's real footage from recent crashes that show that. Almost like a paper bag with sticks hitting the ground. We do have alternative crashes in there with fire, fly campaign more and you should see. -
Graphical errors with ATI video card
Polovski replied to vonOben's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Could also be things like overheating of GPU or CPU under stress (cool case better), or power pack not good enough (the quality of power, not wattage ) or files / drive corruption. Some of which is gone over in the FAQ
