CFS3 Not Responding when starting FRAPS video
Polovski replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
No idea on that one sorry. Maybe reinstall Fraps too? You have made many great movies all fine before, so what's different? Think very carefully what driver or new program or setting you changed just before that. It's happened to me before where I believe I have done nothing at all to my PC but a program stopped working, only for something to dawn on me later that I did change something. Also check for other issues on the PC, hard drive corrupted, run chkdsk/scandisk ? Maybe the recording disk drive is full ? -
I have a question regarding a fresh install
Polovski replied to Rodster's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
DVD versions are new, and therefore will already be 3.1. Just install and use, or don't install and point BH&H install to your CFS3 DVD. -
Memory overload, Map is large and can tip some configurations over the edge. Trim down background apps, and reduce sliders on terrain and scenery.

Need help from someone with 8800GT video Card
Polovski replied to bruceD's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Maybe try another aircraft and squadron or at a different place /time. Some ground battles could be occuring down low as they do at appropriate times and places. Some areas will have less happening on the ground. Also maybe sound is causing a problem try disabling sound and see what happens. Unfortunately in the world of PCs one persons config is dramatically different from someone elses. Maybe close down some running background applications maybe much of that 2GB is being used by other programs as Rabu has said there are programs to help. See the FAQ for tips and there have been many threads on this in the forum so worth a search through. -
PM me UK_WM and I'll tell ya so you can avoid. Don't fancy meeting their lawyers so I'm not posting it here, as I mentioned they are tough. Yeah no worries ta Rabu

Go for it, it's about as far from "hollywood" as you can get. It actually attempts to tackle the air service from the point of view of people of the time, so people think and react as they would mostly. For example there is a lot of resentment of the mixing of classes, working class, upper class etc. It shows the war from several viewpoints. Has some good attention to detail and also lets you feel the confusion there must have been then, when limited info of the enemy dribbled through with rumours and daft orders from command etc. First couple of episodes are building the characters so slower, but stick at it and it's very good. THIS is how they should make a WW1 movie - realistic where possible (some episodes are a little more hollywood but only slightly) but with a bigger budget and more flying and I'd be in heaven :)

Yep went some time ago, could not afford to keep it going for the hell of it - plus the ISP had some very cunning small print they invoke whenever your website becomes popular to take it down and bring in new charges you cannot disagree with, bad place to stay. Something like "unlimited bandwidth" * * but if the actual PC your server sits on (with the other 100 or whatever websites) gets a bit busier because of your Website we shut it down and demand $.

Remove using Add/Remove Programs via Control Panel, not via the start menu shortcut. Clean out all races in the hidden User folders. See FAQ there's a section on what to install and the order etc. Make sure you are an admin user too.

Well done Germany fully deserved win - good luck for the next match! England were good in attack (apart from ignoring using Milner to cross in the first half (well once) though that was praised as great in the previous match. He managed to get 2 or 3 good crosses in, in the 2nd half then got substituted?? Lampard played one of the best games he has ever for England (at last). However the defending was some of the worst I have seen. It was a joke positionally awful Terry and Upson where miles away from the middle. Terry played left centre back, when he plays right normally err? We missed the injured very calming Ferdinand badly there. I think if Lampard's goal had been given as it should have, then a different 2nd half would have occurred (we may have even scored again before half time ;)) but yet again FIFA cocks up big time by ignoring technology (see the Argentina first goal too, the Mexicans saw it on the big screen and went nuts lol). It would take a 5th referee watching a decent TV reply about 5 seconds to look. Germany played very well in attack and simply ran through the huge gaps we nicely left. Rooney was slightly better but still very poor by his high standards. Johnson looked tired, way out of his league, or something odd, very poor defending again. So question is is it unhappy team? unhappy with the manager, tired / burnt out after a long season, players playing out of position (Terry, Gerard, etc) or a combination, we shall find out I hope.

Lol Parky. In this case for sure, it's HUUUUGGE :) Still I added a little about that Q39 so now it's even bigger aarg.

Yep as per Wiki (oddly accurate :)) "the combined effect of the heavier 9J engine and the heavier Vickers gun compromised maneuverability[4] and made the craft decidedly nose-heavy" I think we can say that's true in OFF. I love it when a plan comes together. We aren't perfect but there's a lot more in there than you think :D

Many top teams are falling over this year, very odd. Maybe they all are feeling the pressure. Germany had it rough, but Klose did do 3 tackles from behind and the referee let him off with one of them, so although slightly harsh it is not unexpected. All the referees so far who have been VERY hot on tackles from behind and booked people without a usual warning. Also they missed a penaltly which is not the ref's fault. That was England's worse performance for years. Really awful. I'm really disappointed for the players themselves though not just for me or the fans. These are normally really top top players when they play for their clubs, who play fantastic top level football for some of the very best teams in the world, but then played like frightened rabbits in the headlights tonight, so they are not showing the world their true qualities - sad. Capello has lost it.. Steven Gerard playing on the left?? NUTS. He plays 100s of games for Liverpool on the right or right centre midfield as he is Right footed too, and is the type of player to destroy teams on his own.. grabs the ball and scores when the rest are playing badly. OK so er put him on the left instead and make him wander in for the ball. Get Hesky out, Put Gerard in Midfield just behind Rooney, and major one PLAY JOE COLE (!) and Peter Crouch who actually scores.. instead of Lennon and Wright-Philips. I mean I'm not football manager but most England fans I think will agree. Why are they so nervous, you can see it in their faces, all the normal Premiership player 'arrogance' is missing, they have mouths open with a shocked look from the start like they are very very self aware ;) What the hell, some of these guys have been to several world cups so it's not that it's new experience of pressure or whatever. They have all played in massive pressure games like Champions league finals too so it's not that. Must be some witch doctor with a curse ;)

Indeed if I get time I'll mention it, but the information regarding changing the , and . on none English systems is clearly mentioned in known issues and the FAQ is rather huge :/.

THE VINTAGE AVIATOR AIRSHOW 2010 in HD Part Two
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yep you cannot judge the speed of the wheels or spinning objects easily from movies due to the fact 1 second of movie is actually made up of many still frames (how many depending on the format). As Olham says take a frame snapshot, now take another 1/24th of a sec later - the prop may have spun around more than a full circle like 370 degrees, but when you show the 2 frames it looks like it only moved 10 degrees in frame #2 because it's only 10 degrees on from frame #1. So during playback this is the same for each frame at that prop speedm it will appear to go much slower. It may even not do a full revolution maybe 350 degrees per frame now it will appear to be going backwards instead. That's why wheels and props often appear to spin in reverse on movies, and in games or change direction. -
For the devs: Help for re-download of "Hat in the Ring"
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
If you did not purchase download insurance you cannot re download at some later point. So if you purchase you must make a backup of the file and protect it, OR purchase download insurance. Like if you set fire to your game DVD, or lost it, you'd need to buy a new one. So make a good backup on DVD /CD or external USB in case you need to nuke your PC. We are too small to have someone managing reissuing of new links, so that is what Download Insurance is for (keeps link active for up to 2 years). -

RoF 'Hat in the Ring' expansion
Polovski replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
A lot of these phrases have been banded about for some time in conversations here and internally for many years. We know what we have, and what we have worked towards. "Immersion" is something we have worked on specifically since P1, and it will get better. Your cool posters reflect that well Rabu. Dynamic means changing of course- never the same. Fly a new mission and we can be sure you have never flown it before, aircraft all historically set where possible. Real flights out there doing real missions. Aircraft will not be generated on a spawn, or be "triggered" into some set action it's all randomly based on their own agendas and missions they are undertaking. I think that's pretty Dynamic. If you happen across them who knows what will happen. -
Why had I never tried this before?
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Rich see the FAQ it explains exactly how to configure the sliders using the graphics config near the top section. http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm -
Great story CS, sometimes you can start the engine then rapidly reduce mixture (whilst pumping and it will catch) and dive a little, takes practice but can be done. Also yeah lean the engine before warp can help.

"Fighting the Red Baron" - UK TV Programme
Polovski replied to MikeDixonUK's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Yep many inaccuracies including artistic license with phrases (paraphrased here) such as when "the new wave of aircraft came along" to suggest suddenly we got a whole new sweep of better tech aircraft or something rather than gradual releases of new craft on both sides swinging the advantage back and forth all through the war. Also they did not mention first SE5 had 150 HP engines hence poorer performance, but later much more powerful etc. The bit about trying to photograph the whole front twice a day was interesting and the dealing with the camera 80ph wind lol. Yes Hawker bit was annoying, completely missed the point of the encounter and the wrong aircraft types for a start (would have been nice to at least mention the right ones) and yes Ball's kills totally wrong but hey at least they did a new program on it, and they quoted from my favourite ace Lewis so Ok there. BTW the early version of the Alb DIII made it to the front line in Dec 1916. -
