Yes they move the head, more recent craft it's easier to see. Fokker EV/DVIII you should see it clearly when banking/turning.

We can't guarantee anything - we don't have that controller system for a start. Does it work fine in vanilla CFS3? Also not there's an issue using trim and then warping causing oddities like that if I remember so make sure that is turned off before warp.

Dev's - How's about a P4 Bone?
Polovski replied to Barkhorn1x's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
We'll have to think about it :) Walls have ears or something. Uncleal that definitely was not the Morane Parasol in P3 movies - you are thinking of the Bristol M1C Monoplane. -

Albatros under the looking glass
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Guys, please note the numbers are changed for various reasons as hinted at by Herr P, such as how the AI perform in all sorts of situations, such as issues low down or whatever (DII is one of those) or maybe for some craft climb rate reported in AirWrench is not what is shown in sim, so changes are made to get the performance (and many other reasons). Climb rate is found from flying and tweaking - the figure there is very often not what you will see in sim. Anyway this is closed now, we have said we will look at in p4, so many things will change with P4 that this may well be useless info now anyway. Albatros is still a killer machine, if it turns like a Pup too (which has 1 pop gun) then you will get 100 kills a week. They are well balanced currently and were not easy to control or very nimble like allied craft. We researched a lot on the Albs and came to the conclusions we have but as we say we will look yet again in P4. By the way turn radius in Airwrench is an estimate it's not something that is 'dialed in', also that is distance/tightness of the turn, but not necessarily at what speed. -

Bug when an aircraft hit the ground
Polovski replied to groumf's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
Hi, No need to post Youtube videos of "bugs". it doesn't help OFF to have that sort off thing posted :/ It's not a bug, there is no "flash" we deliberately removed it (it is in fact in an obscure effect it shouldn't be in in CFS3 anyway!). We replaced it with smoke and debris (and several alternative wreckage models that CFS3 does not have). These aircraft are made of wood and canvas with a little fuel/oil tank they do not go "boom". Footage of real crashes of biplanes hitting the ground rarely go boom, they simply crumple and perhaps sometimes smoke, or fire some. Pol. The other video Yes it's known - probably too many effects being called. Problem is if we remove some then of course less effects are seen normally in dogfights, so currently that;s how it is sometimes. We are working on the next version now so we will look into more. -
OT All 56 British Airports Closed

Wish they'd stop interviewing people on the news about it, I mean no flights means er no flights, so people who were to travel <insert reason and destination here> are oddly not going to be able to do it. Do we really need to interview them all? Gawd. No news otherwise obviously. Almost as boring as the election we get to speculate about and end every program with "well we'll only really know at the final ballot on election day." Wow no .... ZZzzz back to P4. -
Works fine here, used Firefox for years (and OFF :)) and it's fine. Maybe AV as suggested, or some naughty plugin in Firefox perhaps?

Lormaison Aerodrome Should Be Called Lormesa !
Polovski replied to RAF_Louvert's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks for reporting. No need to expect a reply, we note stuff that is neceesary, and are flat out on P4 so can;t always reply to every comment here. Many small glitches that you may come across unfortunately given we have 12 sims in 1 (12 front positions over time, 12 changes in airfield locations/possible ownerships/surrounding objects etc to check, bound to be the odd glitch. Yeah we try to read, and sometimes reply, but 30 mins is a bit short of a time span to expect a reply ;) -
Noooo not down the "oh yes he did" "oh no he didn't" route again ;) I doubt he's gonna say well I was miles away and never fired though.

Albatros under the looking glass
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Absolutely, the DIII shouldn't be worse of course, and if it is we'll look at. Who knows maybe the D.II we improved too much actually - rather than the D.III being poor - something to consider. (note we have to have the AI behave reasonably well lots to consider). However as always there is data suggesting more agile, and others suggesting it was not more agile as the design changes should have brought. It did have a better field of view which helps greatly with combat so even that alone would improve it's standing with pilots. Also figures quoted for top speeds for DII and DIII are often at different altitudes and were likely closer than the immediate stats seem. Also note the DIII 'early' version in OFF also has a slightly lower HP than the later DIII. I fitted DII engines to the early D.III - 10HP less ;) -

OK so fix the models, add some models, fix the FMs got it ;) I don't have time to reply to every comment here unfortunately. As I said we'd look when we get a spare amount of time, and it would be P4 not P3. -
Yep Vista and Win7. I have it enabled but it needs a very fast USB disk (I have a small fast memory card in a reader) but some flash sticks are fast enough (only some). To be honest I can't see I noticed an improvement.

Wow that's some stat. How long was he in command? Mmm makes sense now why he chased MvR to hell and back to make sure it didn't happen to May. Nice man perhaps. Looks like a worthy book too.

Aircraft have a marker in the config file that allows spawn or not - that one obviously does. All the above goes against the policy of not giving support to 3rd party addons but hey at least you found it ;)

Albatros under the looking glass
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks guys. Very likely agree with all of those, which ones however could be looked at or improved have no idea currently, some are sim game engine issues which may not be possible to address, but I believe 12. roughly agrees with what we have in sim. i.e. currently I believe the FMs with respect to each other are good. 10. It's in there already called "Albatros D.III early" in Sim. 9. no idea. 6. Will be fixed at some point but it's in 8 aircraft of course. More types available wow, well we have 8 Albatros already, we'd maybe like another 2 DI and OEF but even more may take a little time ;) It is a "sim" and not real life, but we try. If there is a P5 only time will tell. -
and spawning is disabled in OFF by default - so likely you are in the old CFS3 QC, or a modified EIII is flying. Check Workshop settings "Aircraft Spawn Control".

Albatros under the looking glass
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
The D.III had extensive testing during original design, and has since had improvements. We can cross quote comments from various sources all day The old DR1 is porked debates rolled on for years in Red Baron days ;) "Albatros Fighter (Farewell to wings, by Cecil Lewis, 1964) cockpit more roomy (than British fighters), made the whole machine seem bigger. machine was sluggish, strong, reliable and determined. It had none of the feeling of lightness and grace that our own machines had. Throwing it around in the sky was hard work. Engine was big and heavy." "Albatros D.III (Sopwith Scout 7309, by Sir Gordon Taylor, Laterally it was quite light on te controls, but in a steep turn pulling the aircraft around with the elevator it seemed quite heavy. I could see immediately why the German pilots kept out of the close duelling turns." But anyway sure when I have a spare moment or twenty (!) I will look again. It wouldn't be for P3 now though as we have moved on and are well into P4. As I say many of these FMs have been around with minor changes for 5 years or so and have generally been well received - considering the bickering that goes on on some other sims. They are comparable to each other, and each craft fits it's role reasonably well I believe. But yep especially as it's you Olham we'll look again :) -

Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well FM debates can go on for years.. and 5 years later someone has a pop at the D.III ;) D.V was not an improvement from the D.III that it should have been. It was faster, but heavier it was generally thought to be worse. Have you compared altitude performance too Olham D.II and D.III? D.II when I originally made it was more sluggish and worse climb. D.III was not as "nimble" as the N17 design it copied due to much heavier controls. D.II was improved btw, so maybe it's caught up to the D.III - D.III had extensive testing and is one of the core FMs of OFF. -
CFS3 QC? or maybe you have some edited aircraft files?

Great images some bits in flight too which is fairly rare. It plays OK for me if I drag the timeline on a few seconds and play it kicks it playing.
