Get on your Spitfire t-shirts!
Polovski replied to Launchbury's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Great vids Buddye, I look forward to it. -
Yeah maybe possible Creaghorn we'll look into it maybe for the Roland only. I prefer 2 seaters that fight back, but unfortunately it affects other areas.
-
As I say try it with many others and they will behave ridiculously elsewhere. Tried a bombing run yet? I think the Fees looked daft with flying as fighters to be honest. If we change the FM to make the edited rolands play better low down, then it will change the whole feel of the FM. Landing etc I spent some time getting that feel of landing as reported in pilots comments. Changing it is not likely to happen at this stage. We need the AI to behave differently low down really not faff with the FM. This is difficult to do unfortunately. We are already working on AI for a future version which may help with those things. This topic is starting to wander all over the shop ;)

If it's the wrong forum to mention religion (which I am sure many needed in WW1) then it's also the wrong place to carry on a long discussion about the rights and wrongs of posting it? So I think this one has run it's course, and just to keep us all nice and friendly I'll close it... Cheers

Tom, did you create a new pilot?
-
ATI does not show it properly. You may see a tint, or a hint of colour but that is NOT the same as NVidia shows. ATI did used to show specular with a very very old driver, then they broke it. Maybe that's why you used to see it, maybe you used a driver from few years ago. However I used to have ATI and so did WM, and the reflection did not work properly. Yes other objects have specular reflection using the same process. ATI does not show it. Any NVidia not showing it is down to broken install, or some setting in the cfsconfig, or display drivers, because NVidia DOES display specular correctly with CFS3.

It's all about the GPU! Max performance at no cost.

It's not the engine Catfish, most other people have it running well. Your system has something seriously bad there, check cooling for start, get some programs to monitor temps, get a memory tester/checker program and do checks etc. See the FAQ it has a section on troubleshooting in one of the questions/answers -
Fast question about installing
Polovski replied to Firecage's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
With BH&H there is no need to fly or configure CSF3, and you only need to install CFS3 if you have old 3.0 version (so you can patch it). -
OK, so I was a little greedy, but really now, did you
Polovski replied to a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Maybe in the mess of bullets whizzing by your wingman though your frantic waving meant "Go right" or something ;) -
Works for me Win7 64 bit

Install a proper driver for your monitor. Check the manufacturer's website. Also check the refresh rate you are using at that mode, that used to be very important on older monitors (and wrong or generic monitor drivers will often cause issues). Otherwise maybe the new video driver isn't great...
-
Ok lol, well I don't think you'll find it in the model as it works for other people? Has to be a video driver setting? or cfsconfig. Or you may be missing some files somewhere.
-
P3 is miles ahead of P2 though that should be your driving force ;)

How can I edit the Aircraft config files
Polovski replied to OHO's topic in WOFF 1 2 3 / UE - General Help
OHO you could try going via CFS3QC, (from workshop), then when in the actual game eventually try choosing it. I did say it might break it... -
Yes it allows you to view them. Depends what you are looking for, unpacking the models to re-use or edit would be a problem as they are copyright.
-
Nice spot Dutch, gone for one of those!
-
Yep they used to be fighter_bomber and do odd things on ground attacks usually, and fly like F16's apart from that it's good :) "Special" AI to fly FE's errr maybe P6 !?
-
Your install sounds broken or something Bullet nothing "strange" is going on, they fly a mission path, we don't do any magic. Warp all bets are off as it's a magic moment nothing to do with us. Sometimes maybe they engage somewhere, maybe sometimes they crashed who knows. Aces are unique, BUT if the Ace skin does not exist he will wear a generic skin, or maybe the a/c default skin, and another Ace elsewhere may also use that skin if his skin does not exist.
-
As "fighter_bomber" they then attack like a fighter. Some are OK doing this some look completely ridiculous. We changed most a while back as it also changes their behaviour on ground strike missions and elsewhere. They dive bomb instead of level bombing or whatever, also they do not hold formation (where many two seaters are deadly with crossfire from several a/c rear gunners). There are many things in the sim that are a certain way for more than one obvious reason but anyway we MAY be able to put the Rolands back to fighters, IF they then they don't do silly things elsewhere.

This sim is beautiful but...
Polovski replied to DukeIronHand's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Aye computers age quickly these days unfortunately. Most people can fly fine without stutters - it may be time to move on to a new "PC engine" rather than us redesign the whole software engine of OFF maybe OFF is definitely no longer "CFS3" and needs more horsepower to see it in it's glory. Try the Nvidia settings in the forums, and in the FAQ http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm Graphic settings/tips@ http://www.overflandersfields.com/Tips.htm Check what other programs are running in the background sometimes they can cause issues, especially look at SOUND CARD drivers updates (by the way NEVER pay for any drivers, some websites rip you off, alsways go to official website where possible). Very usually sound cards are neglected especially checking for updated drivers. Built in sound cards on older motherboards are usually not great and use too much CPU power. -
Winder has code there to handle the claims and it is intelligent, and no I'm not giving any details. I only put in 1 witness usually, but the more you mess with it the more likely it won't like it. Of course as in war, a pilot claiming a high number of kills may be looked at very closely, and maybe be talked about behind his back, or maybe not who knows :)
-
itifonhom, there are no brakes indeed, so cut the fuel mixture or turn off the magnetos will stop the engine and allow you to stop (also pull back when on the ground and make the skid dig in more may help).
-
Welcome itifonhom See the FAQ for rudder pedal tips Question 8 in Misc questions http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm http://www.overflandersfields.com/FAQ.htm#A8

Okay - you see some strange sights in wartime...
Polovski replied to Canvas Wings's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Compass is correct, several craft had them mounted away from other large metallic objects :) DFW's is on the port wing too. -
If you didn't warp then it was another flight, same skin maybe.
