  1. No this is final RTM (release to manufacturers) version, got it via my Technet subscription. It's not a beta.
  2. Sandbagger maybe you need to backup your profiles, then do a clean uninstall, and reinstall? I'm using the latest version in Win7 64Bit works fine - the odd glitch but getting better with each release.
  3. Its for the reasons I gave mostly Olham. Your great big engine is stopping them killing you thay are aiming for it/you, as they should. Just 1 bullet hit out of the many flying at you will cause it to sound damaged. Anyway we have to move on, it's almost impossible to make everything 100% perfect, as many other sims will attest to..

    Maybe some pics might help, but sounds like some video settings or something? Check Nvidia/Ati settings, texture settings, filtering etc? You can't really edit the FM's without the campaign manager complaining, you could try editing the aircraft.cfg of the craft you fly, look for Elevator_FF Aileron_FF backup your original files first in case you break something. ..One thing, put effects on 5 too, not sure it could affect it but maybe as it overlays damage sometimes.

    Easiest? Well currently we have no craft that are AI only, so they are all hard work. We could make them with less detail or AI only, or make them for only 1 squad etc to make less skins/research etc but naaa. Some of the variants are easiest as you have the parts made of course, but sometimes changing parts a little is slower than making new ones.
  6. You can choose Bomber or Fighter as a career for Bristol F2b. RFC-48 is found as a fighter squadron flying Biffs.

  8. Exactly, remember your *relative* speed and direction to the gunner. Poodling behind in a nice straight line means SHOOT ME ;) Lucky for you the main big thing right in his view is your engine.

  10. Hit boxes are fine, they are the size of the engines. Turn the rear gunner accuracy down Olham. The reason your engine is always hit is because you are pointing it to a gunner ;) Normally the guns are behind you from a fighter. First thing hit is your engine (it saves the bullet heading for you maybe). Use the options. Also because of the way CFS3 works, the first damage on your engine, will cause the damaged noise to play. That's the way it is in CFS3. Maybe one day we can change it but add it to the list of things to do...

    Hi 1. Pics? If you mean the horizon haze also causes the band sometimes in some weather. The band is not removable but pilots have reported seeing such band effects too so not totally unrealistic. 2. Turn up the aircraft skin resolution in workshop? Or perhaps choose other craft. Because we have 3200+ aircraft skins to swap in, we must only use 1 sheet for the main colours/wings/fuselage anything that could change colour or pattern basically. Otherwise we'd have to swap in 2 or 3 textures and cause more loading times, more DVDs etc etc.. Aircraft usually have several sheets, but the key parts must be on 1 swappable sheet basically. Virtual cockpits and other none changing parts can use any number. 3. That's because we made German craft generally heavier on the controls, allied lighter, as reported by pilots. 4. Depends on who you fight against. Aces know exactly how and when to shoot, veterans less so, and novices worse of course. Also you can adjust range and accuracy in workshop!

  13. Yeah unfortunately PCs being PCs anything is possible to break for a million reasons given the tremendous variations out there in hardware/software/configs, but new video drivers will 99% of the time mean CFS will not run until you run CFS3Config.
  14. Disk Just came in!

    AMD needs a mutlicore patch from AMD website, Intel has it built in with XP SP3. Also set your sliders to 4 for terrain and scenery or less (sliders in OFF are at least +2 on CFS3's. See FAQ on our website has lots of details on these things.

    Welcome Vicshere. It's Between Heaven and Hell v.1.0 (BH&H *is* Phase 3). So install that, then the patches as the guys say above.

  17. For the record, it's not the upgrade it's the fact you changed video drivers, which as the FAQ states needs a CFSConfig re run - even vanilla CFS3 needs this.

  19. A General Question

    Just to correct something here, it's not specially true you need to lower your sliders by 2 for P3 - not sure where that came from. Maybe some people found that I don't know but it's not true for others for sure. There is better scenery but also better optimisation, especially as patches came for P3 too. So if you are sure you can run P2 very well indeed, then P3 should be fine. But are you sure you are on sliders 4 for terrain and scenery? That's usually only for higher end machines? Maybe you have no AA or Anisotropic filtering set or some other settings.. The system itself seems too low for that 1GB and a 6800GT? The only concern I'd say is 1GB of RAM is very low anyway. That might be a cheap upgrade to get a little more speed.

  21. Added aircraft

    It is not possible to work like that from models sent in, too many variations, they will not be designed in the same way we use, so may need conversion, renaming, relinking, retexturing whatever.. always a lot of work for us. Also there is a lot of work to add a craft, correct dates, squadrons, locations, aces, Flight model, skins, adding into the manager. We have had over 20 modellers who wanted to do craft, tried to learn and partially did something, then left. Too much work and it's not something you can spend the odd hour doing, you have to spend a lot of time and commit to get things done in time. Too much for most people.
