Thanks, may have just missed this patch though oh well.. one day the fitter will get around to fixing it.
-
It does vary though, so hard to say either way. When we get time we'll look into it, but many other things going on at the moment so may be a while..

SGCSG1 those are general comments there, that's how I read them. Basically I read it as, if you object to DRM it makes you think that other people MAY think YOU are a thief because you object. i.e. Not you are a thief, but it makes you wary of disagreeing in case people say you are.. Forums are not always the best place to take correct meanings from comments.

Must I mark specific targets for wingmen in dogfight?
Polovski replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I always do if I want full control. Usually A per target (and wait until enemy is within reasonable range before you do. With NO selection of any targets works (two peel off everytime you press A twice) but sometimes perhaps don't forget they are only looking for hand signals.. in a war.. mmm did you say attack, or was it run away that one, oh dear, and now I can't ask as he's gone. Mmmmm You get the idea ;) -
They should be pretty much the same. Optional DM is for aircraft only. You may well be shooting with 1 gun mostly for allied v german balloon though... Balloons were not easy to explode so it will be random but usually takes a few rounds.

Yeah would like to see it!

WM means to say it's very very very time consuming. Poor Makai is spending hours noting the locations down. Maybe by 2020 it will be done - and then WM has to update all those locations in the sim bang.

How do i get the TAC to recognise that I have overflown a waypoint?
Polovski replied to JimAttrill's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Correct, read the mission. Sometimes you have to stay. -
Lots of head on kamikazes?
Polovski replied to Fliegenhund's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
:) why is that wrong? You made the wrong choice, so did he. Damn dangerous these dogfight things. -
I think the last stand thing it was likely out of necessity not because he was full of confidence, he couldn't run. He wasn't an idiot for sure.
-
Yep. I have never used shift+s it's something different in my setup. Maybe just check those work first... then you can add more key assignments to do the same as those...

There should be no need to disable anything, if you have Intel and XP make sure you are running the latest Service pack which had fixes for multicore processors, if AMD make sure you patch it with the AMD patch again for running single threaded apps on multi-core CPUs. If it's crashing out could be video card or something - again without details hard to help, but try setting terrain and scenery slider to 3 each in Graphics settings in workshop (see FAQ top part for how to set it up). Yikes ebay, that would be the 2nd or maybe even 3rd one on there! Hang in there Stapme ;) As with all PC programs, it's never the same on one PC as another even RoF has issues at the moment. OFF is running well on many systems just takes a little patience on a few as many sims do.

Yes bombs have to be selected first, cycle through which ones to drop (if more than one cluster or choice) then another key to drop for me I think it's button 3. <Button ID="1" Action="Fire_Guns"/> <Button ID="3" Action="ReleaseFireWeapon"/> <Button ID="4" Action="SelectNextWeapon"/> Homeboy, yeah or maybe just put a note there, once you have cycled to the bomb or weapon release using button 3 or whatever default is.
-
Should work fine, offhand no idea what that is. Go check in the strutter again you can drop?
-
Lol Duce, maybe I know I'm seeing circles after spending days on that thing ;) Yes these medals now you'll want to do well survive and get the kills, so you can have those lovely medals ;)

I fought Max Immelman and Oswald Boelke

Good question, very few are 100% replicas. Often engines are different, or other parts of the construction. Perhaps in some cases yes, but there are variances even now for safety, or engines replaced with radial not rotary or whatever. Often these craft are not stressed (to save wear/damage/failure) as much as they would have been in combat conditions I have seen various detailed test results from the period but again even these are sometimes inconclusive. For one for example of a Pup, the top speed varied due to conditions over several tests even with the same craft, or some days they omitted certain heights in the middle of the tests, or had changed something which would have been useful to compare. When looking into the top speeds closely often you find real discrepancies not just in true speed or indicated but altitude mentioned, or the speed is just one altitude with no proof this is the very fastest across all possible heights, with full combat load or minimum stripped down low fuel etc by the manufacturer. It's not just "speed" there's a whole load of other test data needed to compare. -
Hope AI limitations are being looked into.

"in human hands they're worse than the real ones were." Well I can't say I ever flew one but I think it's pretty reasonable representation of an EIII. Very easy to pull up one or two bad bits all we ask is there is some perspective, it's software and as sims go it's a damn good one. Yes we want to make it better, yes we are open and listen and try our best, as always. But not all things are possible on a home PC. Still we try. Often we forget that most of us are 1000+ (likely many 1000's more) hour pilots - in real life we'd be toast after 2% of that. -

Don't forget to compare like altitudes and setups for top speeds, often figures are quoted only at one or two altitudes. or with no altitude given. Various sources Be2c 90mph, doesn't say with 1 crew or 2, what altitude.. EIII 87.5MPH.. what altitude though, ground level, 1000ft?, 6500 feet? Others say 72mph BE2c at 6500feet... so what about ground alt again what criteria? -
Giant Scale R/C show in Ohio, US
Polovski replied to capn rick's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Poor EV/DVIII came down hard there ouch. Some nice bright colours on show. -
We never say never, but it's a tough one. We have some ideas, just time as always ...

Who said it was all about the pilot and not the craft ? ;)

Try some different aircraft, EIII is probably one of the worse for the AI to handle, try some DVII v Se5 or something if you want more fun better AI etc. Yes we are always looking to improve, nothing is perfect, no AI in any sim ever is perfect, but ours is good (and better than most) in many places. Move around a bit try something other than EIIIs? I'll just add the AI copes with 39 quite radically different WW1 craft quite well I think, some spectacularly well. But yep it's easy to find bits here and there that bug you - try some other settings, other squads, dates, craft there's a lot to choose from. Later craft will perform better generally speaking. -
Maybe just make a small notepad txt file with a few essential notes in CaptSopwith.

Virtual Cockpits and Antialiasing
Polovski replied to Velvet's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hi Velvet I think you have misunderstood what standard Anti-ailiasing does. Here it does not add more polygons to models. It looks for jaggies, for example a diagonal lines made of pixels which always look bad on a computer screen unless you are at insane resolution and adds a few extra shaded ones to smooth it. It does not for example take a wheel made of a 20 sided circle and make into a wheel made of 30 sides. Also make sure you have aircraft slider on 5 in graphics settings. -
O/T Ya'll give Mrs. Cameljockey a hand!

Congrats CJ you have a wonderful partner there. 22 years here too this October, where do the years go? Must be the wooshing sound I hear every so often, or maybe that's beer.
